Not really sure about posting - ridiculously superstitious that it could jinx things.

I have two DC (7 & 4). 1 MMC diagnosed @ 10 wks as a blighted ovum prior to my fIrst DC.
I have then gone on to have three consecutive miscarriages in the last 14 months.

  1. Diagnosed Nov 2017 @9.5 weeks (baby stopped growing at 7 wks) at a private scan where they showed me the baby but I was the one to point out it had no heartbeat. Referred to NHS for confirmation but MC naturally 10 days later vefore the NHS woyld do anything about it.
  2. March 2018@ 5 weeks when I was on holidays with the kids on my own
  3. September 2018, diagnosed @ 9wks as a blighted ovum at another private scan. Managed surgically in the NHS.

After my last MC was referred to our local RMC with appointment at the end of January, but have had bloods done (although I do not know the results).

Have just found out I am pregnant again, 5 weeks today.

Phoned the local EPAU as advised by the RMC consultant (who I havent contacted) and have a scan booked for 2nd Jan.

Currently far away from home at the in-laws and bricking it.

Welcome gin. It’s so massively nerve wracking being pregnant after multiple losses. I hope this is a sticky one for you.

Glad all is well miami! Must have been horrible being in.

Hope everyone’s okay. All okay hopeful?

I’m feeling very festive. Been cooking for hours, off to carols shortly. Been very achy today but will take it easy as possible tomorrow.

Sending love to everyone xxx

Hopefulforourrainbow · 24/12/2018 19:01

Welcome gin.
Yes, all good here @Anne. Very tired after my night shifts but off now for Christmas.
Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas. I'm having a very chilled evening watching a Christmas movie.

AnneLovesGilbert · 27/12/2018 12:50

Did everyone survive Christmas? We had a nice one but I’m bloody shattered today and told DH I’m in bed unless the house burns down! We hosted a big do yesterday and after 5 hours on my feet I ached from head to toe. 29 weeks and feeling pretty okay generally but also like I’m starting to slow down a bit. Also so forgetful! Seems painfully unfeminist to acknowledge baby brain is a thing but it’s happening all the same...

Hope everyone’s feeling okay and had enough fun but not too much to wear them out.

Labmum · 28/12/2018 08:06

Hi @Anne Merry Christmas! Glad you had a lovely time. Christmas is so lovely but it's such a busy time it often leaves everyone exhausted afterwards!

DS and DH are both full of cold so there's not been much resting involved for me! Other than a trip to the out of hours drs with DS on Christmas day it was a lovely day. We're now up visiting family which is very busy but probably our last chance to catch up with extended family until after baby is born so we're making the most of it. We also decided to potty train DS while nursery is shut over christmas, just because we weren't busy enough already 😂

I've been kind and let DH lie in a bit every morning while he's ill so in return he took DS to his parents house yesterday morning so I could have a chilled few hours taking the dogs for a walk and watching TV with my feet up and a cuppa.

Hoping everyone and their bumps are well and have had a lovely Christmas!

Hi all!

I'll be 30 weeks tomorrow with my rainbow. Crazy! Shock

Unfortunately I've been referred for a growth scan after my midwife appointment yesterday as my bump hasn't grown since my last midwife appointment three weeks ago Sad Still feeling lots of movement so trying not to worry, but it's hard not to think of worst case scenarios. Sad

AnneLovesGilbert · 28/12/2018 12:46

Big congrats cobalt! I hope the scan gives you reassurance. Good movements are so important, sure everything’s fine. When are you having the scan? I had a scheduled growth scan at 28 weeks and because it was at my clinic I didn’t see the midwife then and no ones measured my bump. Seeing midwife at 31 weeks and doc again at 32 so assuming they’ll check everything between them...

Merry Christmas to you labmum Smile

Sorry you’ve both got colds, I was coming down with it yesterday and feeling really crap today. Streaming, again, and sore throat. Blasted compromised immune system.

Enjoy your visiting! Glad you’re getting bits of rest, you must be tired. And good luck potty training! Is DS okay? We had an eventful Christmas Eve with DH taken very ill very fast and a trip to a&e in an abulance which was terrifying. Got home Christmas Day morning and he’s okay though it’s a long story and he needs a follow up. So much for trying to stay calm and relaxed...

It’s all been lovely since then and I’m trying to balance getting stuff done with putting my feet up.

CobaltRose96 · 28/12/2018 13:10

@AnneLovesGilbert, thank you! I've got my scan on Monday morning, so at least I'm not waiting ages! Smile

Labmum · 28/12/2018 13:40

@cobalt sure all will be fine especially if movements are all ok. The bump measurements aren't very accurate and can vary depending on who takes them so try not to worry.

@Anne I'm the same as you and had growth scan at 28 weeks then midwife at 31 where she measured my bump, then back for 34 week growth scan next week. Apparently there can be a lot of variation when going between growth scan and bump measurements so if it seems off don't worry. Thought it best to warn you. Mine has stuck to the 95th centile but think it's unusual for them to match up on the centile lines between the two.

DS is much better now, DH seems to be turning a corner, he's promised me some lie ins when we get back home! Touch wood potty training is going quite well.

Hope your husband is all ok @Anne. What a scare for you all!

AnneLovesGilbert · 28/12/2018 13:46

Thank you lab, hope your cold sods off soon! Baby was 50th percentile at 20 week scan and 65th last week, measuring spot on for everything but weight as it was slightly chunky at 2lb11. Good to know variations are to be expected. When are you due? Glad DS better and well done on potty training, a big step Smile How’s he feeling about being a big brother?!

Miami81 · 28/12/2018 18:28

Hi there
@CobaltRose96 that's good that you are getting a growth scan. I am sure it's just variations in measures. But always best to be sure. If you have any concerns over the weekend then get along to the assessment unit, that's what they are there for.
@AnneLovesGilbert that all sounds very hard with your DH on Xmas Eve. Glad that you are well though. Take it as easy as you can, I know that your work has been manic so always best to try and take rest chances when we have them.
@Labmum are you 34 wks now? That's fab. Not long to go. Are you going all the way through to whenever baby decides to appear or are there other plans in place? Well done on potty training over Christmas, that's impressive.
We have our next growth scan on Monday @9am. 29 weeks today. Feels so crazy. But also feels amazing. 56 days to go. I have broken it down into days as I find I am getting through them much quicker then the weeks. When you think 8 weeks to go it seems a lot, but 56 days not so much.
We bought some small items of clothes in the baby section of boots the last day, so much less intimidating then the mothercare/mamas & papas option. Plan is to make a list after New Years.

Labmum · 28/12/2018 20:09

@Miami81 wow! 56 days sounds like nothing, that's going to fly by! Good time to pick up a few bargains in the sales, I'm tempted to buy a few girly bits too to brighten up her second hand boys wardrobe. Need to buy some little tights and things that DS never had. Have you finished work now?

@Anne he is pretty excited about his baby sister and has happily given up his old room for her. He likes feeling her kick whilst having cuddles at bedtime.

Touch wood potty training is going ok, having some dry days and other days just one accident so we're getting there. We've managed trips out to cafes, a 2 hour car journey and visits to relatives houses with no accidents, tends to be as he's getting tired late afternoon that he "forgets"!

OP posts:
Labmum · 28/12/2018 20:14

Oh and @Miami81 yup barring any complications arising we'll be going for another natural birth and she'll be setting her own timetable. Hoping to be discharged to midwifery led care following my scan next week as an currently under joint care. I tried to convince DH on a home birth but he's not happy about it and the look on his pediatrician cousins' face today when I mentioned it has sealed the deal!

Miami81 · 29/12/2018 09:09

@Labmum my current plan is to go back to work in January until mid feb. Between all my appointments etc it would be around a 3.5/4 day week until then. We shall see. Going to Gp next week to discuss strategy.

Hopefulforourrainbow · 30/12/2018 10:08

Hi everyone. Hope you all had a lovely Christmas. It's been very busy for me between work and visiting family. I've been so tired working. 12hr shifts are hard without being pregnant! I'm 17 weeks tomorrow and have a very noticeable bump now. Still struggling to find jeans. Bought some under bump ones in next and they keep falling down! Maybe over bump would be better. Hope you're all well. We'll soon be able to say we're having a baby this year!

AnneLovesGilbert · 31/12/2018 16:43

Happy new year lovelies! Hope everyone’s feeling well. I’m still battling a stinker of a cold but dragging my arse out tonight and going to doll myself up as best as I can Smile

Thank you for being here, for all the support and advice and sympathy and chuckles. This year, we’ll all have our babies. Can’t quite believe it!

I got over and under jeans from new look hopeful. Under bump ones are a bugger for sagging in the bum and falling down a bit but still glad I got them. The over bump ones were too loose in the belly for a few weeks but perfect now. They’re skinny black jeans with a button and proper pockets, very black so smart enough for smart. The extra layer over the bump is really comfy. I’m mostly living in dresses (and pjs tbh whenever I can... Blush) and got some bargains off eBay which I’m loving.

We’ve booked a last holiday for the 4 of us over Feb half term which is exciting. I’ll be 36 weeks but it’s only a couple of hours away and self catering so I can put my feet up in between trips out for chips and ice cream in what could well be truly dire weather at the British seaside Grin Nice to have some proper time with my DSC before the baby arrives like a grenade!

Hopefulforourrainbow · 31/12/2018 17:19

Happy New Year! Just wanted to thank you all for your support over the last year. I really don't know where I'd be without you lovely ladies. Enjoy the celebrations tonight. It'll be an early night for me as I'm up at 5am for work tomorrow morning. Looking forward to a few days off next weekend! Thanks @Anne. I'll check out new look.

AnneLovesGilbert · 31/12/2018 17:27

Have a fab night hopeful! Hope work isn’t too rough tomorrow.

Hopefulforourrainbow · 31/12/2018 17:52

Thanks. I'm only 5ft so they'd be too long. Have just ordered a different pair from new look though

AnneLovesGilbert · 31/12/2018 18:09

I’m 5’4 and they’re okay with pumps or heels. Legs were v tight at the start (why are nearly all maternity jeans skinny?!) but all good after a couple of washes. Glad you found some! Just ordered a bunch of baby stuff off amazon. Had 30 weeks in my head as a time to start actually getting ourselves in gear....that’s on Wednesday! Really need to get ready. I’m procrastinating like mad.

Hopefulforourrainbow · 31/12/2018 18:31

My plan was to wait until after 20 week scan to start buying. I don't want any baby things in the house til much nearer the time though. We have been offered a lot from family and friends but there's some things I'd like new. Silly I know!

MaltedMilk88 · 31/12/2018 19:04

Hi all,

This is me.. 30 years old

MC 13+5 Nov 17
MC 9+2 May 18
CP very early Aug 18

Currently 14 + 1 due 29th June & touch wood we are progressing well :)

Hopefulforourrainbow · 31/12/2018 19:30

Congratulations and welcome @maltedmilk88

Labmum · 01/01/2019 20:14

Welcome @maltedmilk88 and congratulations! Have you done anything different this time around?

Ladies we can now say we're having a baby THIS year. And for me it's only next month. Eek! Crazy.

Hope you all had a lovely new year. By some miracle I made it to midnight!

Unfortunately I'm struggling a bit as I took a tumble down the stairs the other day, thankfully baby is fine as I landed on my bum but I'm very stiff and have been in agony, it's started to ease a bit today but still very limited what I can manage and how quickly. I gave DH and DS a fright I think. I rang the midwives but they said if no pain/blood/waters and hadn't hit bump that I could just monitor movements at home which have all been fine. Got a scan on Thursday anyways which will be nice to check she's all ok.
