New thread, perhaps might be useful to all post an update of history and where we're at now?

@curlytwirlytwos

I’m so sorry to hear this. Last year I had a scan at 12 and a bit weeks which showed the baby had died a couple of days earlier. I elected to have surgical management and I remember the days between the scan and the proceedure were really tough. I cried lots and even now a year on and finally in another pregnancy I’m still so sad about that baby. Take all the time you need and be kind to yourself xxx

AnneLovesGilbert · 12/12/2018 15:01

How are you doing at the moment bean?

27 weeks for me today and made it to the third trimester, seemed such a far off dream. Finally broken the crap sleep cycle, I think with breathing exercises from hypno classes, feeling rested and well and hoping it continues.

Possibly a tough week for you miami, sending loads of love x

beanhunter · 12/12/2018 16:13

Hi Anne. 22 weeks today and still feeling horrendous. Actually had to come home early today as too much vomitingto cope. I’m so ready for this to be over.

CaptainUnderpants96 · 12/12/2018 16:25

Just popping my head in to say hi!

I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2014 at the age of 18. Was told it would be very difficult for me to conceive naturally, so I almost resigned myself to the fact that I'd never have biological children.

In February 2018 I was shocked yet delighted to fall pregnant naturally, first time trying! Sadly this joy was short lived as my 12 week scan revealed baby had stopped growing at 7 weeks. I had to have an ERPC. I was heartbroken but not surprised.

In June 2018, just eight weeks after my ERPC, I found out I was pregnant again, again naturally conceived. I was over the moon but didn't allow myself to get too attached. I was sure I would lose this pregnancy too.

Well, I'm now 27+4 with a healthy baby girl! I still can't quite believe it and have to pinch myself every day ❤

Miami81 · 12/12/2018 19:29

Hi @AnneLovesGilbert yes it's been a rough old week so far. Just very emotional. Had a growth scan at 26+4 on Tuesday and all was good. Baby measuring well and is now bigger then her older sister at 27 weeks, that was really hard to hear but also really positive for this baby.
So glad that you are into the 3rd trimester. You've got this lovely lady.
@CurlyTwirlyTwos I am so so sorry to read your news. Please chat to us if you need. We are here for you.

Sending love miami ❤️

So good your scan went well, glad your baby is growing well. When’s your next appointment?

I can’t imagine what it’s like but you know I’m always here to listen. Anytime.

The other couple in our hypno class are having their second baby after a still birth and we were talking about their experience. Made me think of you and how strong and amazing you are. It was also a reminder that asking people, as so often happens, if it’s their “first” is such bs. These days I want to qualify it with “is it your first pregnancy” which would sound very weird to anyone for whom it was, but might open the door to anyone for whom it’s not and who’s had a difficult path to this point.

Look after yourselves x

I’ve got a clinic appointment next week, first growth scan and placenta scan. Do they do both at the same time and abdominal or two separate scans?

Labmum · 12/12/2018 20:03

Hope you're ok @Miami81, very tough week for you!

All is ok here. 31 weeks. Started with a bit of sciatica and back pain so I'm struggling when DS wants picking up and if I get on the floor to play with him it takes a bit of moaning and groaning to get back up Grin!

OP posts:
AnneLovesGilbert · 12/12/2018 20:17

Probably doesn’t feel like it labmum but that seems to have flown by! Glad you’re mostly all good.

Sorry about your sciatica. I don’t know what you’ve tried but I swear about 6 weeks ago there were several days where I could barely walk and was about to book the physio but I ended up finding a YouTube video with a really simple exercise, did it religiously and it just went. Was much earlier than where you’re at but it’s worth a go. I still do it to try and keep it at bay! I’ll try and find the link, worth a go.

AnneLovesGilbert · 12/12/2018 20:19

There’s loads on YouTube that might help a bit!

Hopefulforourrainbow · 12/12/2018 20:52

Thinking of you @Miami

Anxiousfeelings · 13/12/2018 18:25

Checking in for the first time in a long while and so so sorry to hear about some of the things that have happened.

Congratulations @para!

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone on this for the support at some points during my pregnancy. Last night I delivered a healthy baby boy - weight 8lbs7. Overjoyed. All the very best to everyone

AnneLovesGilbert · 14/12/2018 11:53

Hugest congratulations @Anxiousfeelings! How are you feeling? Love to you and your baby boy x

Labmum · 14/12/2018 12:27

Congratulations @anxiousfeelings, lovely news. Enjoy all those sleepy newborn cuddles!

@hopeful other good places for dresses/clothes are H&M and New Look, they sometimes have some items in store too and don't break the bank, mainly I found it easiest to click and collect and then just tried them on in store straight away and returned them in the same visit if they weren't suitable. Both of those are pretty good for leggings but ASOS leggings are pretty good too. I've recently been to bravissimo for a maternity/nursing bra and would recommend them, they had loads of styles in stock.

@Anne thanks for the youtube link. I'm going to give that a try for the next few days to see if it eases it.

I'm off for a spa day this weekend including a back massage so I'm hoping that may help ease it a bit too!

AnneLovesGilbert · 15/12/2018 18:49

Hope it helps lab and enjoy the spa! Smile

I’m having an incredibly lazy day. Had a 3 hour nap at lunchtime, woke up and it was dark! Been lying on the sofa since watching my belly jumping, I can’t see it losing its novelty, so nice.

Hopefulforourrainbow · 15/12/2018 19:24

Congratulations @anxiousfeelings!
Thanks @labmum. I'll have a look.
Aww @Anne that sounds amazing! I really can't wait to get to that stage. When would you say you started feeling movements? I'm 15 weeks on Monday.

Really late hopeful! Anterior placenta meant I had a few nearly imperceptible swoosh type feelings prob around 18/19 weeks? Trying to remember first proper kicking feeling on the inside. It’s ramped up loads with each change, so swoosh off and on for a couple of weeks, then a few days of kicks but not consistent, then DH felt it on the outside one night at 25 weeks, now been having proper kicks every day but one since then. Mostly when I’ve been lying down resting. 27 weeks this week and started seeing it jump yesterday! It’s mostly on my right side and wash lying on my left but started to feel it up in the middle a few inches above my belly button and occasionally on my lower left.

I’ve never got this far and had no idea what to expect so I’m completely fascinated by it! (Sorry to bang on Grin) I honestly didn’t think it was ever going to happen as it started late but like I say it’s jumped up in frequency and strength every week or so after about 24/25 weeks.

Do you know where your placenta is? Loads of people feel things from around 15 weeks but don’t worry if it’s a while. How are you doing?

AnneLovesGilbert · 15/12/2018 19:41

Gorgeous pic CaptainUnderpants96! Your name is on there if you want to replace the pic with a cropped one Smile

Beautiful face! Congratulations.

Hopefulforourrainbow · 15/12/2018 20:12

I've been feeling great thanks. Still very tired at times. The morning hangover feeling seems to have passed. I've felt some flutters already but not sure if that's baby or not. They didn't tell me anything about placenta at scan which I thought was unusual. We were so excited seeing baby moving I forgot to ask!

CaptainUnderpants96 · 15/12/2018 20:22

Oops! Didn't mean to post a scan pic with my name on. Idjit Grin

Here's my rainbow again, name removed this time Grin

So I've been admitted to the ante natal ward for the night. I had some strange discharge this morning. Came to get checked out and they decided to keep me in. Sharing the ward with 3 others and am finding it very hard. It's just all very triggering, one lady is in labour and is being put on the trace every few hours. Another lady is trying to push to get delivered really soon, but they are very reluctant. It's all just wrecking my head to be honest.
The midwives are lovely though. So that's good.

AnneLovesGilbert · 16/12/2018 17:47

Oh love. Big handhold and a gentle hug. Movements been good? What do they think is up? How are you feeling in yourself? I’m around to listen anytime. Has DH been with you there? xxx

Miami81 · 16/12/2018 20:32

Thanks @AnneLovesGilbert Dh is here and is minding me. Movements are ok. They have done a trace and I am thinking of asking for a listen in on the Doppler in a while.
I have piles (the glamour and sorry for the tmi) so it is very likely that the discharge this morning was actually migrated discharge to do with piles. Anyway best to be here and to be monitored. They have examined cervix and are happy that it is all closed and no sign of bleeding.
Just need to get through the night. All the drama of the ward has calmed down a lot since visiting time ended so hoping to get some sleep soon.

Hopefulforourrainbow · 16/12/2018 20:53

Thinking of you @Miami. Hope you're all ok xx
