Interested in hearing people's labour stories, where were you when you starting getting contractions ?
I'm thinking mine will wake me up in the middle of the night or something 😂

No contractions, but my waters broke spectacularly all over MIL's spare bed in the middle of the night

DappledThings · 21/10/2018 21:27

DC1 in the hospital being induced. DC2 at soft play with DC1!

I'd gone to the hospital to be induced. While the midwife went to get the paperwork, Walters broke on the hospital bed.

Didn't need any help after all!

CarrieBlu · 21/10/2018 21:28

DC1 in hospital - induced. DC2 - at home in the kitchen whilst serving DC her dinner.

DramaAlpaca · 21/10/2018 21:29

I was at home in bed & was woken by a contraction.

WindyWednesday · 21/10/2018 21:30

In bed.

InterstellarScreamingElla · 21/10/2018 21:31

Child 1, the midwife popped them whilst in labour (induced).

Child 2, Waters broke early morning (around 5ish), a massive pop and gush all over the bed! Contractions started a couple of hours later.

GargoyleBattyness · 21/10/2018 21:32

DS1, i woke up in a puddle... then the cintractions started every 3 minutes.

DD woke from my sleep in agony...

DS2 i woke up as normal, thinking i needed the toilet i toddled off for a poo... a couple of hours later i realised i didn't actually need a poo!

RosieposiePuddingandPi · 21/10/2018 21:32

3am in bed at home. I was so shocked and it was so sudden I tried to hold it in with my hand!

GoJohnnyGoGoGoGo · 21/10/2018 21:33

DS1 at home watching Midsummer Murders
DS2 on the ward as I was induced

Whistle73 · 21/10/2018 21:33

Watching EastEnders the first time,DD1 was born at 6.10pm the next day so almost 24 hours.

At 4am while in bed with DD2 - it woke me up! Didn't need to go to hospital until 8pm - in fact went shopping all day. DD was born at 11.50pm after a very quick labour.

A580Hojas · 21/10/2018 21:34

Baby 1 - in hospital being induced (labour started pretty much immediately after first pessary)

Baby 2 - no labour, had elcs at 39+5.

notangelinajolie · 21/10/2018 21:35
  1. In bed, 6am waters broke.
  2. Watching James Bond on telly 8pm.
  3. And can't remember where I was for the last one which makes me feel rubbish and sad. I was seriously ill and had ptsd after the birth and I have very few memories of that time. Couldn't even remember her date of birth when asked months later ☹️
RollerJed · 21/10/2018 21:37

Both times in hospital Smile

Dd1 I was induced, dd2 my waters broke and I was told to go into triage. About 4 hours later dd2 was born.

SimplyPut · 21/10/2018 21:39

In hospital every time following induction.

DuploRelatedInjury · 21/10/2018 21:42

At home. Didn't realise it was labour at first, just thought my SPD was causing me more pain. Conveniently I was sat on the loo when my waters broke

motortroll · 21/10/2018 21:44

DC1 just getting up at 7am to go to toilet and my waters popped. Just a trickle thankfully!!

DC2 about 9pm as I was going to bed early. I wasn't entirely sure if they were going anywhere as still crampy.

DC3 7.30am giving me just enough time to get my sister to do the school run. She was also born before pick up time. Very convenient!

PotatoesPastaAndBread · 21/10/2018 21:45

At the dinner table. I thought I was a bit uncomfortable. DH suggested they might be contractions... He was right...

Bobbiepin · 21/10/2018 21:46

2am at home. Rolled over in bed and lost some fluid, thought I'd peed myself so went to the toilet. Happened again as soon as i got into bed. Rest of the waters went after 15 hours of contractions in my living room just as we were going to the hospital, much more spectacular and a 30 min clean up (of me, we left the living room) before I could get in the car!

Sontagsleere · 21/10/2018 21:46

At home in bed in middle of the night , second at home early morning, then third in hairdressers (are you sure you want me to cut it? are you sure you want me to blow dry it? Yes, yes- husband is on his way, was agony and hairdresser was panicked but made it to hospital!) and fourth in hospital with induction.

Pretendingtobeapsychokiller · 21/10/2018 21:50

A balloon festival!
Counting contractions, between catching up with old friends!

MissDai5y · 21/10/2018 21:50

Waters broke while I was hoovering the bedroom.

Should have known it was imminent as I'd been going crazy on housework for 2 days.

I'd definitely recommend sleeping on a maternity pad. Glad I didn't have to clean that mess up off the mattress and I was close to the bathroom.

WornOutAndUseless · 21/10/2018 21:52

1st time - At home in bed at 5am
2nd time - In the car on the way to pick 1st child up from nursery

pastabest · 21/10/2018 21:52
