Hey girls, couldn't see a thread for mums due in October so thought I'd start one as it's October tomorrow!! Anyone had their baby yet or due due soon? I'm due on 17th can't work out if he'll be late or early 😓

My little beauty was born last night after an 8 hour labour started by induction. Absolutely the single worst experience of my life and I'm not normally a weed, but she is so worth it 😍

Tonioxx · 16/10/2018 17:57

Congratulations everyone! Another little bit of advice needed please. I bumped my belly on the door handle last night, was really painful. Little miss is still moving around however her movements have changed and feel more like a heartbeat. Went for a wee earlier today and noticed blood about the size of a 50p coin however no more since. Just feel really crappy. Cramp like pains, tired and stomach really tight. Can anyone help? I’m 38 + 4 X

Tonioxx · 16/10/2018 17:58

Star congrats!

AurorasEncore · 17/10/2018 13:45

Congratulations all!

Our baby arrived yesterday after an intense and fast labour after an awful week of pre labour.

Good luck to the mummas in waiting.

Markygirl1995 · 19/10/2018 19:42

@AurorasEncore congratulations and all the best!!

I've got my first and hopefully only sweep booked in for Monday and my induction if all fails on the 29th so fingers crossed he will make an appearance this weekend if he's not too stubborn 😒🤞🏻😂

I had a sweep Wednesday and lost my mucus plug today at 6pm. How long do you usually wait around for labour to start? I know everyone is different however I’m just wanting ideas. First baby and all Grin

AurorasEncore · 19/10/2018 23:25

I had a sweep Friday, lost plug Saturday, another sweep Sunday, then labour started Monday. I think they say if it's going to work then it will do in 24 to 48 hours. Sound like it's happening woohoo!

AurorasEncore · 19/10/2018 23:41

Ps anyone fancy starting a Night Feeding Support Group.

My baby cluster feeds from now till 3am and sleep deprivation is setting in Sad

Tonioxx · 19/10/2018 23:56

Ah I’m praying!! Fingers crossed X

MrsMarmite1234 · 20/10/2018 02:48

I had a sweep Wednesday, lost my plug on Thursday but was booked for an induction this morning at 40+4 due to high BP. Had the pessary early this morning and having what I hope are “proper” contractions since about 6pm. Fingers crossed it’s not too much longer!

Markygirl1995 · 24/10/2018 11:24

How is everyone getting on? I've brought my induction date earlier to this Friday rather than Monday!

Hi, how exciting! I’m 39+5 now and nothing but constant back ache, toilet trouble and becoming so impatient. Lost the plug last Friday night and still no further forward. I’m losing the will to live X

Markygirl1995 · 24/10/2018 12:25

@Tonioxx same here that's why I had to bring mine forward. I had a very intense sweep Monday and been losing the plug since doesn't seem to come out as one and every time I see a bit makes me want to throw up! 😂😂

Hi. Had sweep sat, lost plug Sunday and Monday, had another sweep today and had backache and tightenings all day. Got induction booked for 30th. Finger crossed for everyone 🤞 x

MrsMarmite1234 · 24/10/2018 19:18

I got the pessary about 9.20am in Friday and DD was born just after 6am Saturday morning. Good luck everyone still hanging in there!

Tonioxx · 24/10/2018 21:38

Will taking codeine what I have been prescribed for my spd be slowing my labor down? X

Markygirl1995 · 25/10/2018 08:09

@MrsMarmite1234 that's amazing! I'm being induced Friday at 10am how did you find it overall?

MrsMarmite1234 · 25/10/2018 11:29

@Markygirl1995 the induction part honestly not as bad as I thought. The midwives really made me feel I was in for the long haul and would be in a few days before anything got going. After the pessary is put in you need to stay put for about an hour then I was free to walk around. Did a few laps of the hospital grounds over the course of the day which I’d recommend - probably helped things get going and stops you going stir crazy in the ward. I’d say about 6pm was when I felt the first real contractions as opposed to cramps, although they were like really bad trapped wind so I wasn’t sure I was actually in labour. I was a bit silly really and didn’t call a midwife until I was in unbearable pain and my waters had gone because I just didn’t believe I was in established labour. Turns out I was fully dilated and ready to push Shock. Another lady was brought into the ward about 1.30am with her new baby and she recommended a hot bath which really did help. Although don’t stay in too long like me! I think there are some real induction horror stories on here (and I’m sure they are accurate) but we just don’t hear about the positive ones as much. I ended up with no pain relief due to the time/progress etc. which wasn’t my plan and was fine. You’ll be grand!

MrsMarmite1234 · 25/10/2018 11:31

@Tonioxx I wouldn’t have thought so, lots of ladies were being given codeine as a first option for pain relief in the ward I was in.

MrsMarmite1234 · 27/10/2018 13:47

@Markygirl1995 hope you’re getting on ok!

Leevery · 27/10/2018 15:09

Baby boy born this morning at 02.02, and was discharged by 4. It was very quick..... midwife classed my labour as 12 mins long 😱😳. Home and settled, and very happy that i didn't have to be induced on Tuesday. Hope everyone is getting on ok! xx

Markygirl1995 · 27/10/2018 17:04

@MrsMarmite1234 nothing happening for me, the 24 hour one kept falling out, the 6 hour one hasn't caused any niggles or anything I just want to go home now feel like my body isn't up to this

MrsMarmite1234 · 27/10/2018 18:30

@Markygirl1995 that’s so annoying! Hang in there - doing a lap of the hospital at about 5pm I was whining to DH that the pessary was crap, not working, I wasn’t having another the next day and I’d be demanding a CS 😂 I felt exactly the same as you. Easier said than done but try to distract yourself as much as you can.

@Leevery congratulations! 12mins?!?!

laurenluke2017 · 27/10/2018 18:43

@Markygirl1995 I feel for you girl! We had the same due date 17th Oct. I hope your DC arrives soon for you x

Markygirl1995 · 27/10/2018 20:02

have finally had my other tablet put in, during the examination they said my cervix is now open by 2cms woohoo which means they could if wanted to break my waters but they don’t think that would get me anywhere at this stage. I think from what she was saying that they’ve put another one in to see if my waters will break naturally and if not they’ll examine again tomorrow and wait 12 hours to start the process again so that would be tomorrow at 6am if I’ve done my maths right.. 🤔😂basically the next stage will be waiting 12 hours to take the tablets again 😂 and then after wait another 6 hours and if nothing happens I’m sure it’ll be a c-section
