We have been trying 8 months and I realised today that my period was a day late. Took a test and nearly fell over from shock with I saw two little lines! We're so happy! Anyone else due June 2018? It's a little early as I'm due the 1st!

I couldn’t wait any longer! I’ve always tested negative before quite far along so I resisted this far! Defo due June 20th Yey!

Greggers2017 · 17/10/2018 06:35

Congratulations everybody. I've just tested positive a week ago. I have an 11 and 9 year old and a 10 year old dsd. Taken 2 years to have our first together. Sooooooooo excited 😊

Squiff70 · 17/10/2018 10:30

Is anyone else 7+ weeks and still waiting for morning/noon/night sickness to kick in?

Swisbest2 · 17/10/2018 14:09

@greggers2017 ah congratulations 😊 whats your due date?

Greggers2017 · 17/10/2018 14:27

@Swisbest2 we're thinking around the 20th June, not had a scan yet so unsure. Good job we didn't get Glastonbury tickets 😂

Greggers2017 · 17/10/2018 14:27

@Squiff70 you may be one of the lucky ones. I had no nausea whatsoever with my son.

joeybear1 · 17/10/2018 16:41

@Greggers2017 We took our test the Friday night before tickets went on sale on the Sunday so we knew whether or not to try for them!

WeeBean · 17/10/2018 16:42

Looks like 20th June could be our due date too!

I phoned my doctors on Monday to see what I needed to do next and was told to come in that day to get blood tests with the nurse, told them we were away until today and they said to phone back when we got home. Rang them earlier and a different receptionist said it was a doctor I'd need to see and I'd need to leave a urine sample in first. We're away on honeymoon on Tuesday so I won't have an appointment until November 9th by which stage I reckon I'll be 9 weeks. Was rear hoping to have it confirmed and be referred to a midwife sooner than that, it'll probably be weeks after that until I can get a scan date so more time spent worrying 😑 No idea why I was told two separate things by the same doctors either!

curlypasta · 17/10/2018 16:49

My doctors don’t care at all. I’ve got to make an appointment with midwife by about 8 weeks, the doc doesn’t want to see me at all! I want to tell people, including a relative stranger!

WeeBean · 17/10/2018 17:08

@curlypasta it's so frustrating isn't it? Even more so that each area seems to be different so I've no idea what's normal and what's not!

Kay2705 · 17/10/2018 18:13

Hi all,

Can I Join? Just got my first ever bfp after trying for almost a year. Was about to start ivf.

Due June 26 according to my apps x

Swisbest2 · 17/10/2018 18:17

Same here @curlypasta the doctor i keep getting is downright rude. Havent even bothered speaking to them but i have to go in for midwife 22nd. Epu nurses are great though

Swisbest2 · 17/10/2018 19:58

Congratulations @kay2705 Flowers

curlypasta · 17/10/2018 20:38

This is my third so I’m fully ok with the doctors being shit. Their so matter of fact and see it every day but I wish they’d realise how special and worrying it is for us!
Thank god for this website tho!

Swisbest2 · 18/10/2018 08:49

Yeah @curlypasta spent all last night googling whether how likely i am to have another mmc dont think i can cope with that again 😔

Swisbest2 · 18/10/2018 10:15

@may88 how are you feeling were dus same time

starfishy · 18/10/2018 10:54

Hi, congratulations to everyone on this thread! I got my bfp 10 days ago and am 6 weeks today.
Called the doctors this morning and they just said a midwife will be in touch only once I'm 12 weeks!! Thought I should be having a scan then not 1st appointment withe the midwife.
It's so strange how its so different everywhere!

Spargle · 18/10/2018 11:42

Hello everyone! I’ve been trying for over a year, and was just starting the process of getting IVF treatment. Found out on Monday that I’m pregnant! It was a surprise - so strange watching that first line appear (I’d thought the tests were surely broken, as none of the others cooperated like that).

We really wanted a baby in May or June, but we’re obviously in a position in which we would be delighted to take any birth date. However, this one is apparently due on 23rd June, which will be the 6th anniversary of DH and me getting together, and the day before our 3rd wedding anniversary. Fingers crossed it’s a sticky one! (I know - it will probably be 2 weeks late, like its parents!)

Think I’m 4+4 today, and no major symptoms - keep waking up far too early feeling a bit sick and crampy, and have had weird breast/nipple tenderness which comes and goes. Keep expecting AF to turn up, of course.

Swisbest2 · 18/10/2018 14:38

@spargle congratulations Flowers how lovely

Greggers2017 · 18/10/2018 15:47

Congratulations everybody

Swisbest2 · 19/10/2018 07:32

SunnyScot89 · 19/10/2018 08:15

Hi Folks,

Can I join in? I know the thread said for first baby but this will be my second....
Due 11th June, got an early scan booked as well as NHS 12 week scan and booking in appointment with midwife.

curlypasta · 19/10/2018 09:03

@sunnyscot89 come and join us at the antenatal boards, there’s quite a big June bus going on Smile congrats!

lstef · 20/10/2018 05:59

will be 6 weeks tomorrow and nausea started Thursday early hours- couldnt cope with going to work as hadnt slept and couldnt eat or stand up.

Comes on in waves, especially if I haven't forced myself (no appetite) to eat regularly enough.

Having strong food aversion to protein which apparently is normal - am generally a meat eater but can't face it!

I really struggle with nausea (related to childhood) - and just can't function - I feel so weak and tired and can't stand up for long. I really don't see how work is possible - thankfully im only part time, will see what my manager says. if it goes on like it is (i am in tears most times when the nausea gets bad) I will have to ask to be signed off work... dreading that convo as nowhere near as bad some must have it...

I know that everyone has different experiences - so this feels hard to talk about as I just feel pathetic and weak for not coping with it. Also have a fear of vomiting so any hint of nausea and im wide awake.

Anyone else relate to any of this? My friend had HG during her pregnancy up to 16 weeks and that would be my worst nightmare :(

Concerned that I'm already struggling so much and this is only the beginning!

may88 · 21/10/2018 08:41

@Swisbest2 I feel pretty good now - the beginning of this week was a different matter though... I had the most awful sickness for a few days, to the point where I couldn't keep water down, never mind food. Turns out I actually had a virus, thank goodness! I really don't know how I would have coped if that'd have been reality for the next month or so. Ended up so weak, dehydrated and I've lost half a stone, but I'm sure that'll pile back on soon! How are you? Do you feel a little more at ease after your scan and as time passes?
