buntingandstarcharts · 19/09/2018 11:14

@SundayGirlB did 11 months feel like years for you? It did for me and I just can't get my head around the fact I'm pregnant. Are you freely very anxious? I'm stuck between being the happiest and then telling myself it's too good to be true 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

buntingandstarcharts · 19/09/2018 11:14

@BabySquid I'm so sorry! That's devastating. I'm so sorry you're going through this. Heartbreak heartbreak.

buntingandstarcharts · 19/09/2018 11:21

@RiverMeadow mine is 28th/29th May as my period started over night so I'm not sure which to go with. Omg I'm the same - pushchairs and names etc. I feel crazy because I'm so desperate for everything to go well. How are you?

SundayGirlB · 19/09/2018 11:35

It felt like ages! I keep thinking 'I could have a baby by now'. I am 30 but my DH is 40 so he was also worried about long term treatment and being an old dad. I became quite despondent and was preparing to go to the Doctors for referral when voila! I think because I was a bit negative towards the end of the 11 months I am maybe over focussing on the chances of things going wrong now and every symptom make me anxious but then I look at all the babies in the world and know it works for plenty of people!

I'm only 6+3 and it's already an emotional rollercoaster lol.

RiverMeadow · 19/09/2018 14:37

@buntingandstarcharts I'm feeling well how are you? I have an early scan in 2 weeks so fingers crossed for that! My MW appt is 9th October. When is yours?

Bettyhop · 19/09/2018 14:52

Just back from the hospital, my levels have increased perfectly to 2880. I have also had a scan and seen the sac, in the correct place😍 I know it's so early and I've only seen a little pip but I just can't stop smiling😊 xxx

buntingandstarcharts · 19/09/2018 14:58

@RiverMeadow I haven't yet booked it as I was waiting to make sure everything was ok. Also felt like jinxing it so i haven't yet booked 🤦🏼‍♀️

@SundayGirlB every twinge is scary - I've not ever been pregnant before/had any miscarriages so I shouldn't be so anxious - but I am! It's awful!

Ladies, I am a bit confused: I got my BFP at 10dpo and it was very obvious. Now I am 15DPO and do a clearblue 'how many weeks' and it says 3+ which equates to 5 weeks pregnant? I don't see how my dates can be confused as I was using OPK and waiting for ewcm so I'm 100% I ovulated when I thought I did, but the early test result and then this 5 week estimate are throwing me off? My my estimations I am only 4 weeks pregnant today? Help! Xxxxx

Mummytoboyxx · 19/09/2018 16:50

I think the clear blue indicates how many weeks ago you conceived, so if you’re 5 weeks then showing 3+ should be about right.

Out of interest, are those of you going for scans booking them privately? I had a mc in April which showed up on a scan I had at 6 weeks. I’m thinking of booking an early scan but DH thinks I should wait until my 12 week scan, but not sure I can wait that long xx

farminerbump · 19/09/2018 16:57

@Mummytoboyxx we're pregnant with our first and I'm terrified something won't be right so we're going for a private early scan at 8 weeks just to put our mind at ease. Smile it's only £80 which I didn't think was bad to be able to relax.

Bettyhop · 19/09/2018 17:03

Mine was through nhs as history of miscarriage only last month no period since so wanted to be sure was a new pregnancy and not tissue left over from before x

LokiWho · 19/09/2018 17:13

@buntingandstarcharts it’s all to do with your individual base hcg.

Every woman has a natural level of hcg in their body, between 1 and 5. When you are pregnant the level of hcg doubles every 24-48 hours.

A level of 1 - 1,2,4,8,16,32 and so on, but most tests would show positive when it gets to 32.

A level of 5 - 5,10,20,40 and so on, but most tests would show positive when it gets to 40 (standard tests pick up at 25)

Tests on the market presume most peoples base level is 5, so the 3+ you’re getting indicates one of 2 things:

You either have a base level of 5 so your hcg is doubling faster.

Or

You have a base level of 1 and are further than you think.

It’s why the ranges of hcg in pregnancy are so varied.

RiverMeadow · 19/09/2018 17:45

@Mummytoboyxx I booked mine privately it was £89. I had one at 7+5 with my first child and honestly the reassurance is priceless. I will be 6+2 this time. Fingers crossed!

Mummytoboyxx · 19/09/2018 18:05

Thanks @RiverMeadow I think I’m going to book one. We go on holiday when I’ll be 10 weeks and I’m not sure I’d be able to relax without finding out if everything is ok x

buntingandstarcharts · 19/09/2018 18:36

Wow @LokiWho you're a genius! Thanks so much for this amazing info! I prob have high hcg levels 👌🏻👌🏻 are you a doc/nurse or just extra informed? Xxxx

LokiWho · 19/09/2018 18:51

Haha no not a doc/nurse. I love biology though, andgot a bit obsessed when researching ttc.
