@SundayGirlB my due date changed also at my early scan and my dating scan I came forward over a week!
Has anyone felt any movement yet? 🤞

Mummytoboyxx · 27/11/2018 20:22

Welcome @Flamingosnbears!

Well today I gave in and bought some maternity jeans. My normal jeans were becoming far too snug! X

Mikewazowskismrs · 27/11/2018 20:55

Mummy did get under bump ones? I have a pair but don’t have a bump to fill them and feel like I would just be yanking them up !

Welcomes flamingos Smile

buntingandstarcharts · 27/11/2018 22:30

@Mummytoboyxx I'm a teacher too! Every tiny thing is making me get cross with them! I read that the stress can be bad for the baby so now I'm even more anxious about that. Has anyone else heard this? I feel like I've been overly stressed with school and just worrying the baby is being harmed as a result 🤭😳🤯

Mummytoboyxx · 28/11/2018 05:48

@Mikewazowskismrs I bought over the bump ones. With DS I had under the bump and I was constantly yanking them up. They did my head in!

@buntingandstarcharts I know it’s easy to say but try not to let work stress you out. Teaching can be stressful, but at the moment I’m just trying to embrace the chaos that is the run up to Christmas!

Mikewazowskismrs · 28/11/2018 07:04

@Mummytoboyxx just realised I meant over the bump too 🙈 I have too much flab for under the bump!

Still not ready for my over the bump yet either haha.

Countrygirl94 · 28/11/2018 10:06

@mummytoboysxx @Mikewazowskismrs Where did you get your maternity jeans? Hardly any stores seem to have maternity stuff instore and I don't really like ordering online but I think ill have to so wondering which ones you recommend. Also with ordering maternity jeans do you order your normal size or do you go up a size. Totally clueless here haha.
Any one else having like pains in the groin? Its like a pulling ache on my right side, wondering if it means bump maybe is starting to grow.

CeeCee88 · 28/11/2018 10:49

I have some slight pulling aches too. Apparently it could be round ligament pain.

Totally the same when it comes to maternity wear, no idea where to start and not many stores seem to have any available. I'm not sure whether over the bump trousers won't be absolutely massive still... clueless and then some.

Mummytoboyxx · 28/11/2018 12:23

I got mine from H&M. When I was pregnant over 4 years ago loads more stores seemed to stock maternity clothes but there’s hardly any anymore. I buy my maternity clothes in my normal size which seems to be fine.

And I’m the same with slight pain. I notice it when I’ve been sitting for too long. Almost feel like I have to stretch myself out xx

Mikewazowskismrs · 28/11/2018 13:45

I got them from h and m too but I’m sure by the time I have a bump they won’t fit in other places haha.

I just got a size up from normal because me and weight gain is a sure thing.

Floofsquidge · 28/11/2018 13:49

I also bought overbump from H&M as they have a section instore so could try them on. I had awful bloating at 6 weeks and couldn't wear anything else.
Have since treated myself to a pair from seraphine I got online from John Lewis and they're just a different class. So nice, so comfy. Love them and will probably get another pair as they have high resale value on eBay. Quality the same as my normal jeans. Both brands have been my normal size.

Countrygirl94 · 28/11/2018 15:04

@CeeCee88 they don't make maternity shopping easy do they!

@mummytoboyxx @mikwazowskismrs @Floofsquide Thanks for advice, I shall have a look in h&m next time I am shopping and see if they have a in store bit.

My pain was coming more when sitting too much - been off work last 2 days, bad headaches and the joys of a bacteria vaginosis infection so been vegged out on the sofa most that time. Also antibiotics are making me feel nauseous just as I was enjoying not having morning sickness anymore hah

xJune88 · 28/11/2018 16:42

I currently have under the bump ones but am defo guna buy over the bump. As pp said your constantly pulling at them and they kind of squash your little bump. I got mine from topshop, they do over and under x

CeeCee88 · 01/12/2018 10:04

Morning everybody!

Just a quick question, as I've started to have a wee read on what you need to have/get for when baby arrives...

It appears that there's a lot of things that you get told you absolutely MUST have but don't actually seem like essentials.

Have any of you guys started buying things or started making a list of what you'll want to get before baby arrives?

Anyone already had a baby before and can advise what things are absolutely brilliant and which were just things you bought because you thought you had to have it but it turned out to be total bollocks?

Just thought I might ask, as I feel a tiny bit overwhelmed at the moment.

Hope you're all keeping really well!!

expatlife · 01/12/2018 19:02

@CeeCee88 hi! I have one DC and found really helpful;

  • Perfect prep machine (I mainly breastfed, but was great for formula when we switched)
  • A side sleeper cot that goes next to the bed. Perfect for being able to pop baby in and out and keep close.
  • a good nursing chair. Spent many hours at night in mine.
  • sleeping bag suits so they can't wiggle under the blanket
  • Ewan the dream sheep (or any white noise!)
  • Muslin wraps for everything
  • lots of sleepsuits. The most comfortable and practical thing for baby, the ones with zippers are great!
  • PJ's for yourself that are comfortable and easy for night feeds (if you're breastfeeding).

Things I didn't use/felt were overrated;

  • sleepyhead
  • swaddle blankets (a normal blanket or muslin wrap works fine)
  • Pacapod nappy bag. Great in theory, but didn't seem to fit everything I used in. I got a backpack and made my own little compartments with toiletry bags.

Disclaimer 😙😊 - everyone (and every baby) is different and some people swear by sleepyhead etc, but it is worth seeing if you actually need expensive items once baby is here. Also, we were very fortunate and got so many clothes in size 3-6 months as gifts, so much so that I had brand new clothes that were never worn 😳

Mummytoboyxx · 01/12/2018 19:19

@CeeCee88. I agree with @expatlife you’ll need loads of Muslin cloths and baby suits. With May babies hopefully that’s all they’ll need to wear when it’s hot in the summer. With DS1 we used our bouncing chair all over the house to put him in when he was a bit bigger and we needed to do chores/have a shower etc. I would spend a bit of time looking at slings or carriers. I bought one for DS1 before he was born and it was such a faff putting him in so I’ll wait this time and actually try a baby in it before I purchase one this time! And perfect prep machine is a must have. I loved mine x

Lovewinemorethanhusband · 03/12/2018 11:20

Sorry been quiet but this pregnancy is kicking my arse !, Actually feel worse now than I did I'm the early weeks I could literally cry with tiredness and headaches every day.
Went and brought new sofas the other day as we need a new one and I convinced the husband to have electric recliners so hoping I can use that to help get comfy when feeding. Going to wait for the sales for bottles and the perfect prep Machine.

Lorrie3 · 03/12/2018 11:49

@lovewinemorethanhusband big hugs!! I'm feeling the exact same as you.... sailed through the first 14 weeks no problems at all and the past 2 weeks I could sleep standing up even aftwr a full nights sleep and have the most uncomfortable pain in my hip!! Really feeling fed up as grateful and all as I am to be pg

Countrygirl94 · 03/12/2018 14:05

@Lovewinemorethanhusband @Lorrie3 glad to see I'm not the only one, was expecting to have way more energy now.
Yesterday morning I got up did loads thought great! Hit 1clock and I was exhausted and ended up sleeping most the afternoon. Also been suffering headaches and been feeling sicky again, though wondering if that is antibiotics I'm on.
I am so happy to be pregnant but I am not enjoying it like I thought I would. Also I feel guilty for moaning as it's not like I'm having a bad pregnancy.

Lorrie3 · 03/12/2018 14:18

@countrygirl94 yup very very same as that. I think I'm annoying dp cause I keep apologising for being so miserable and like u say its not a bad pregnancy i just feel generally u comfortable

lifechanginglemoncake · 03/12/2018 15:38

Potential TMI coming up here:
Anyone else got a weird feeling down below? Today it feels like my vagina is almost achey and heavy. Hard to describe. Assuming this is normal. No spotting, bleeding or cramping just this sort of ache. Almost like you've had a wild night of fun DTD but I haven't been!

Bouncer4me · 03/12/2018 17:28

I’ve had that a few times and it is soooooo weird but I haven’t ever had anything come of it. And god knows what is actually happening when I experience it.

lifechanginglemoncake · 03/12/2018 18:54

Thanks @Bouncer4me - feels better knowing it's not just me!

CeeCee88 · 04/12/2018 08:13

Ladies - be careful outside today. Our entire road was just a sheet of black ice and obviously my ass kissed the ground. Thankfully all is ok, I'm not in any pain, no cramps and no bleeds but holy shit was that a scary experience!

Flamingosnbears · 04/12/2018 09:12
