@Brownie12 so sorry to hear this. Take care of yourself Flowers

Lovewinemorethanhusband · 16/10/2018 19:53

@brownie12 I'm so sorry to read this, thinking of you XXX

Fingerscrossed1987 · 16/10/2018 22:50

Hello again,

I'm 8 weeks tomorrow and have had a little bit of brown spotting this evening when wiping. My tummy has been cramping more than usual today. Just wondering if anyone else has been similar?
I'm trying not to over react but just a little worried!
Thanks x

Countrygirl94 · 16/10/2018 23:04

@Fingerscrossed1987 I had brown spotting over the weekend, same as you when wiping. I phoned midwife unit for advice and they told me not to worry and if it got more (like soaking a pad an hour more, or I had pains to phone back). Had private scan on Sunday and saw baby heartbeat all fine.
I totally freaked out too but try not to worry. And if you are worried phone someone. 💕

Fingerscrossed1987 · 16/10/2018 23:17

Thank you, that's what I needed to hear.
Will see what happens tomorrow and maybe call midwife unit.
Thanks again xxxx

Fingerscrossed1987 · 16/10/2018 23:18

And I'm glad everything went well for you! X

CeeCee88 · 17/10/2018 08:09

Good Morning everyone,

Was just wondering if you'd mind sharing how you announced (or how you're planning to announce) your pregnancy?

This is our first, so we're planning to put together a little video for our families to show them in a few weeks time.

CeeCee88 · 17/10/2018 08:13

@Fingerscrossed1987 I'm exactly 8 weeks today too, and I've had a wee bit of spotting here and there.

I'd phoned the clinic and they said it's nothing to worry about as long as it's not red blood and only a tiny bit. They also said if I'm not feeling unwell or sore not to worry too much.

Apparently the spotting can come from implantation (of both baby and placenta) and your cervix tends to be tender, so you could spot after sex too.

On another note, I also seem to have a lot more discharge than before... anyone else?

Lilbear14 · 17/10/2018 09:07

@CeeCee88
I'm going to sound awful now but we're not actually announcing it officially.
We are going to tell our parents in a week and a bit and once we have had scan we will tell the children. Then it's just a case of lettings one or two family members know. Apart from immediate family I'm not really that close to the rest.
We also won't be announcing anything on social media until the little one is born and even that won't be straight away.
Neither of us use Facebook much and I'm quite a private person and those who I want to know I will tell myself.
A lot of my friends who know are really surprised by my decision, just because it's the norm to announce.
I would like a private gender reveal with close friends and family not a baby shower or anything just so we can all find out together and an excuse for a get together really haha but my partner is still thinking about that one.

CeeCee88 · 17/10/2018 10:37

@Lilbear14 I don't think you sound awful at all.
After all, it's your decision and shouldn't have to be as everyone else's.

We're just super excited and as we both live away from close family and friends, we'll probably put something on Facebook, as it's our main way of communicating with a lot of friends back home, but we'll see.

I mainly meant how did you tell your parents/siblings? Did you put together anything special to reveal the good news? Or did you just tell them?

I'm keen for it to be a sweet reveal as it's our first and hopefully everyone will be delighted for us.

For work, I think I'll just bring in a box of cakes or something with a wee note saying "Eat up - Mummy doesn't want to be the only one with a belly" Grin

Lilbear14 · 17/10/2018 10:40

@CeeCee88 We are going to tell our parents just our right. We did want to try wait for the scan but I am expanding and I see my parents like three times a week so it's hard to hide.
But with my children we are getting them a big box of sweets each with a card with the scan. And we are going to make it look like it's come in the post from their new baby brother or sister.
Im worried how my eldest is going to take it but I think if we soften him up with a gift he might take it better.

Mummytoboyxx · 17/10/2018 12:44

Does anyone else get a twinge if pain when they stand up? Almost like having to stretch out your uterus?

@CeeCee88 I also have a bit of discharge. Not loads, but I wear a pad to keep me comfortable.

My immediate family already know. After our miscarriage I just wanted to tell my mum and sister once I got my BFP as I knew I would need them again if the worst happened. We’ve got our 12 scam booked in for 4 weeks time. It’s going to be a long 4 weeks!

Bouncer4me · 17/10/2018 13:40

Hey mummytoboyxx I get the same generally when I’m led down and I try to get up it twinges. But then I sometimes got that before I was pregnant so it’s probably just my body lol.
And I had my first scan yesterday 😀😀 my dates were dot on and we’re only having the one little one thank goodness 😀😀😀 so happy

Mummytoboyxx · 17/10/2018 15:32

That’s great news @Bouncer4me How many weeks are you? I sometimes get the same pain when I sneeze. I think it’s my uterus expanding!

Bouncer4me · 17/10/2018 16:38

9 weeks and 3 days 😀😀😀 so hyper

RiverMeadow · 17/10/2018 16:48

We've also not told a soul yet. I want child 1 to know first as they will be super excited and I keep thinking up different ways to announce it. For other people I think we'll just tell them.

Has anyone made any baby purchases yet Blush

Lilbear14 · 17/10/2018 17:02

I'm refraining from buying anything until my 12 weeks scan. I nearly bought a little bear suit in Asda the other day but refrained.
I bought my other two similar suits, didn't keep either of them as each time I didn't expect to have anymore hahaha

Mikewazowskismrs · 17/10/2018 17:18

After our reassurance scan we bought 2 little baby grows and hats from next that each say mummy & me and daddy & me but no more purchases until the big scan Blush

RiverMeadow · 17/10/2018 17:46

I have a confession to make. I bought my pram because I got a good deal!! I have had a scan and everything was fine, it's now hidden away in my spare room. I feel like I needed to confess to someone! Blush

Lilbear14 · 17/10/2018 17:53

@RiverMeadow we have said that if we see a good deal before the scan we would get the larger items. And I did have a look on eBay like a week after we found out.

We're having a planning evening tonight. We're going to sit down with some treats and start planning finances and what to buy and when.
We are going to start collecting nappies, wipes and smaller stuff when we do weekly shops and when we are just out and about.

It's going to be his parents first grandchild so we know they will go crazy, we just hope they don't go to crazy because me and my partner are both very independent and we find it hard to accept things off people.

Babyno2mamabear · 17/10/2018 18:02

Hey everyone....not sure how I've not come across this thread yet :) just wanted to say hello! My due date is anywhere between 5th and 16th May, depends if you're going by NHS or private scan dates! I have my 12 week scan next Thursday 25th! To say I'm nervous is an understatement. I just keep telling myself it will all be fine....we are planning to announce using some creative pumpkin carving haha. They have some great ideas on Pinterest. Really looking forward to sharing this journey with you all 💖 PS this our second baby, we currently have a crazily active 2yo boy who is our world xx

alienm · 17/10/2018 19:09

We're just planning to tell folk in a low key way, a week on Friday to the scan, so will tell more people then. Have told a few close friends, but no family yet.

RiverMeadow · 17/10/2018 19:40

@Lilbear14 Yeah I think we'll do that too and get stuff as we go, it makes sense to!

@Babyno2mamabear Congratulations and welcome! X

Lovewinemorethanhusband · 17/10/2018 20:10

We brought a car seat the other day after we had a scan and everything was fine it was down from 395 to 140 as our Mothercare is closing so i couldn't say no !

Mummytoboyxx · 18/10/2018 08:28

This morning when I wiped there was some light pink blood. Nothing in my pad. This happened a couple of times. It seems to have stopped now but it’s still worrying. Has anyone else experienced this? Xx
