Lilbear14 · 11/10/2018 07:53

Has anyone noticed that they have developed a weird/strong body odor?
I've been absolutely scrubbing my pits and can't seem to get rid of this smell. I feel disgusting and paranoid now. It started a couple of weeks ago, but not as bad as it's been this week.

I've got my first midwife appointment today, I have so many questions because this pregnancy is completely different to my other two

CeeCee88 · 11/10/2018 08:15

@Mikewazowskismrs I'm in Glasgow too! Have you been assigned a specific hospital yet or is it a case of picking yourself? I've got no clue...

Good luck with the Scan on Sunday - I'm sure it will go just fine. Smile

@Lilbear14 I've felt super gross the last few days but I switched to a different deodorant and that seems to have sorted it. Confused

Speaking of deodorants: Have any of you guys also switched to roll-on's without parabens, alcohol and aluminium?
One of my pals told me that you're apparently not supposed to use the spray ones anymore... Hmm

Lilbear14 · 11/10/2018 08:21

@CeeCee88
I've just switched deodorants (still spray) but I'll see how I get on. I might ask the midwife today about that because I've not heard of that before. My appointment is only supposed to be an hour, the questions I have it'll be more like 2 haha

gingerraspberrypie · 11/10/2018 13:11

@Lilbear14
OMG I feel the same since the 5 week. As long as I stoped using any deodorant (I switched to wet napkins) the most disgusting smell is my armpits odor. That's so bad I have to take shower several times a day. But I doubt that it's also good for the skin. Anyway 1) my body changed the smell to a stinky old dog 2) or I have never actually smelt my real odor because I always used deo.

Does anybody knows the brand of deodorant that is safe to use in our case?

Lilbear14 · 11/10/2018 13:16

@gingerraspberrypie it's awful isn't it.
I'm sat in my car at the moment and can smell myself
Only topped up with deodorant 30 minutes ago.
I'm definitely going to mention it to the midwife today because this is awful. Can't imagine what it's like for those who have to be close to me hahaha

Mikewazowskismrs · 11/10/2018 13:19

@CeeCee88 hi 👋🏼 my doctor said because of where I live I am In the catchment area for the southern but was going to confirm for definite At midwife appointment.

When are you due?

Mikewazowskismrs · 11/10/2018 13:20

In May that should say !

gingerraspberrypie · 11/10/2018 13:21

@Lilbear14 wow. Let me know please what you midwife say.
I've asked my partner and he says he doesn't feel anything. Maybe he is just polite or I have a super sensitive sense of smellEnvy

CeeCee88 · 11/10/2018 13:40

@gingerraspberrypie I use Bionsen roll-on deodorant, which seems to be working a total treat. See here: Bionsen

@Mikewazowskismrs Hiya right back Smile I think catchment area wise it would be the Southern too, but because we had fertility treatment in the Royal, I'm not actually sure. I suppose I'll find out at our appointment on the 22nd at the Royal.
I'm due on May 29th if I've calculated things correctly... but seeing as it's my first, I have a feeling it may be June time. What about you?

Lovewinemorethanhusband · 11/10/2018 14:00

Had another scan today at epu, was amazing saw baby with little arm and leg buds seen, heart was beating away. Can't wait til 12 weeks so I can see the change again

CeeCee88 · 12/10/2018 13:24

@Mikewazowskismrs who knows, maybe we'll end up in the same antenatal classes or even at the hospital at the same time! Grin

Lovewinemorethanhusband · 12/10/2018 17:23

We told some friends yesterday and they replied with their own scan pictures 3 friends are pregnant also and we are all due within 4 weeks of each other so be an exciting time for us, I'm the last one due though so will get to see all the little babies and then have mine x

Bouncer4me · 12/10/2018 20:32

I use bionsen as well and I love it 😀 no smells at all lol.
And I have my first scan next Tuesday eeeekkkkk we’re so looking forward to it 😀

Countrygirl94 · 12/10/2018 22:21

Have had some brown spotting today from about tea time onwards. Not enough to go onto a pad, only when wiping. Phoned maternity unit and they said just to keep an eye on it and is common to have some.
Trying hard not to panic, I haven't got any pains.
Have got an early scan booked on Sunday and I don't know if I want it to come round now I'm so scared we'll get bad news.

MasterSensei · 12/10/2018 22:27

This thread popped up on my active and It's making me really happy and nostalgic as I was on the may 2018 thread! I'm now laying here next to my Georgous 5 month old ❤️ congratulations and good luck to all of you!!

Floofsquidge · 12/10/2018 22:37

@Countrygirl94 I've had the same last Saturday and today and it's hard not to worry and google everything. I mentioned it at booking appointment and midwife said it was normal. One thing I did find on google is it can be related to placenta implantation where the placenta takes over between around weeks 7 and 9.

Youvegotafriendinme · 13/10/2018 07:20

@Countrygirl94 I had this at about 6/7 weeks. Barely anything there but enough I knew I wasn’t imagining it. After my pregnancy with DS and regularly seeing blood (full placenta previa) this scared the bloody life out of me. I called husband and he calmly told me it’s normal and it’s everything doing what it’s supposed to do and not to worry! Thankfully 2 days later was my reassurance scan and we saw the heartbeat so that was a relief and I’ve had nothing since. I know it’s scary but it is normal

Countrygirl94 · 13/10/2018 07:51

@Youvegotafriendinme @Floofsquidge thank you for reassurance. It's nice to here it is normal. Had a tiny bit more spotting this morning but not as much. Feeling sicky this morning as usual so hoping that's a good sign. Fingers crossed there won't be any more and I'll see a heartbeat tomorrow at scan. 🤞

WeeBean · 13/10/2018 10:03

Hi girls, can I join please?

Period was two days late yesterday and I got a BFP! Did two more tests when my other half got home and they were both BFP too! According to my Flo app I'm 5+2 today so due in June. I'm trying not to get too excited until a doctor has confirmed it, this is my first and I sort of feel like I've no idea what comes next with doctors, midwives, scans etc!

We're heading away today for a few days with friends and then we're getting married next weekend so it's going to be really hard to hide the fact I'm not drinking but we don't want to tell anyone until it's confirmed obviously.

I haven't really had many symptoms, I had cramping in work a wee while back and at the time wondered if it was implantation, thinking now it must've been. Apart from that I've had a pulling crampy feeling, a very tiny bit of nausea but no sickness and some really really vivid dreams! No idea if that's a symptom or not but I've never experienced it before, one was about a baby!
