@Youvegotafriendinme Thanks. It’s 6.30am on my day off and I’m wide awake thinking about it!

Lovewinemorethanhusband · 06/10/2018 09:37

Good luck to those with scans today wishing you all the best !.
Anyone else having issues with seeing a midwife ? My doctors have 1 midwife which only does 1 day a week and only 4 appointments on that day ! I can't get in for my first appointment until 16 November, I've complained and said I can't wait til I'm 14 weeks as will miss the Dating scan so I've got to call the community midwives on monday to find any midwife with a space to see me and refer for the 12 week scan it's a pain in the arse !

Floofsquidge · 06/10/2018 10:02

@Lovewinemorethanhusband yes. I was waiting for a callback from my gp surgery for over a week, as I was told only then could I get a booking in apt. called midwife and receptionist said they couldn't see me til mid Nov and that was a date we couldn't do as away that weekend. Said they'd call back. I'm highish risk (age). Got a text a bit later with an apt for tomorrow. Understaffed I guess but worth chasing for an earlier apt or one in another county.

Lovewinemorethanhusband · 06/10/2018 10:29

I'm.high risk also due to previous pregnancy issues and being 38, I only need my booking in appointment done and then I'll be consultant lead as per previous pregnancies so it's such a pain, hoping that the community midwives can do something as I don't want to go to another town as it's a nightmare here for care transfer

Mummytoboyxx · 06/10/2018 14:42

All was fine at the scan. Measured as expected and we saw the heart beating ❤️❤️❤️ Had a little cry with relief xx

Brownie12 · 06/10/2018 14:49

Fantastic news @Mummytoboyxx I have a scan on Monday and I'll be 7+2. I had a scan at 5+6 and we saw sac, yolk sac and a fetal pole but couldn't get a heartbeat as it was so small. I have just endured the longest week of my life! xx

Mummytoboyxx · 06/10/2018 14:54

Thanks @Brownie12 I’m 7+3 and could definitely see a heart beat. I know what you mean about every week seeming sooo long!

Youvegotafriendinme · 06/10/2018 20:20

@Mummytoboyxx ah I’m so glad it went well for you.

I had my booking in appointment today and it was very emotional for me and I didn’t expect my reaction. The midwife was amazing (she actually remembered me from 2 years ago!) and has put me forward to have another debrief and to see a midwife who deals with PTSD through child’birth’ and my consultant is the same one as before. I’m still scared more than even I realised but glad to know I have the support there

LMull · 06/10/2018 22:17

Hi everyone! Little bit late to the game here, new to NetMums but looking forward to getting to know you all! I'm bang on 9 weeks today; due 11th May and had our booking in appointment today. We had a MC 18 months ago (valentine's Day of all days...) and had no symptoms with that one so am a little bit on edge that we're having a repeat... Was hoping MW was going to say we could have an early scan on the NHS but she said only if in pain so I didn't push. Hadn't realised you could book privately so got on that as soon as she left and managed to get an appointment Monday afternoon- phew! Literally wouldn't know I was PG if it weren't for the missed periods (and tests, obvs). I know I shouldn't complain about an easy PG but I so want to feel something. Only weird thing is I'm massively off chocolate... Don't want to eat it, thinking about eating chocolate makes me feel a bit car sick... Other than that I'm hungry all the time and I'm starting to realise that could be a symptom as a few of you have mentioned that. Anyway, enough rambling from me for now! Thanks for the reassurance of your similar experiences!

Youvegotafriendinme · 06/10/2018 22:28

@LMull we have the same due date 😊

SafariGirl100 · 07/10/2018 05:59

@Lovewinemorethanhusband In my area (midlands) I got a midwife apptmt straight away through my gp. He booked it and gave me the date at my first meeting. She comes to my house which i didn't expect! My 12 week scan was also booked by GP and i got a letter in the post a week later for the 8th nov at hospital. I would definitely push for an earlier appointment if I were you. You cant wait that long! Poor you!! Mine will be at 11 weeks.

@Mummytoboyxx Scan looks fabulous. Yay👏🏼💃🏻. The worrying is unanimous. I try to be cool but it is all i can think about until that big scan! Ha ha

@LMull welcome and congratulations on the scan. I also have no real symptoms other than big/sore boobs and tiredness. I also eat more so trying to snack healthily. I eat every hour and no sickness so far or food cravings/aversions.

user1467718508 · 07/10/2018 11:54

It's making me so happy hearing about and seeing all of these scans! Congrats all around 💖

2 weeks today until my first scan - I'm struggling to think of anything else right now 😍 Really need to create a distraction; anyone got any good book/film/TV recommendations? Feel like I've exhausted Netflix lately.

Ooh, also - is anyone else taking pregnacare max? I've been reading reviews and wondering if they're the main culprit for my constant nausea...

LMull · 07/10/2018 12:29

@youvegotafriendinme Yayy!! I'm hoping I'll get a totally accurate date at the scan tomorrow... I think @India is similar too...

I haven't been active in a forum for years so bear with me whilst I get to grips with a few things...

You know, the more I think about it, the more I think that we're all mislead by the media and friends who've had bad early PG symptoms and actually... It's not that bad for loads of people but you just don't really hear about them. I was expecting morning sickness to mean rushing to the bathroom every five mins but actually, that mild car sick feeling that comes and goes probably is it for me (not just from the previous day's overindulgence I mean...).

Has anyone had the flu and whooping jabs yet? Anyone decided they're not having them?

Bettyhop · 07/10/2018 12:51

Netflix recommendations @plantingandpotting
We loved the staircase, black mirror, pretty little liars, girls incarcerated, 13 reasons why, making a murderer and evil genius! Hope there is something there for you! X
7+5 today 😁

India1819 · 07/10/2018 14:30

@LMull I had my flu jab this week. Thought I’d get it in early before all the winter germs come out!

Mummytoboyxx · 07/10/2018 14:57

@SafariGirl100 Thanks! I’m trying to relax now. We go on holiday in a few weeks so I’m hoping that will take my mind off things!

@LMull I’m experiencing the travel sick feeling too. It’s not really bad at the moment but definitely lurking around all the time. Just feel like eating really bland food (chicken nuggets at the moment)!

I’m booked in for the flu jab at my checking in appointment in a couple of weeks. Didn’t have it with DS but I was pregnant over spring and summer with him so it didn’t really cross my mind.

Could really do with a long hot bath! My DH is being ever so supportive and going to have one for me instead; face mask included 😂🙄

sproodlemummy · 07/10/2018 15:11

Hi ladies, can I jump on here too. Am currently 8+3 with twins (ivf) and have so many emotions going through me. I’ve just sat and had a bit of a sob. DH is out for the day so it’s just me & the dog. The wait for the next scan feels like forever.

I’ve also had a disappointing conversation with my GP surgery. Receptionist took my details and said a midwife would be in touch at around 10 weeks. The wait and the unknown is so hard isn’t it.

RiverMeadow · 07/10/2018 15:13

I also feel really ill at the moment too. My DH is being amazing!

dreaminofholidays · 07/10/2018 15:46

hello please may I join?
32, dc1, 7+6 today.
Sickness has really ramped up this weekend. Was sick for the first time yesterday, today I am battling not to be sick.
@lmull I'm tempted not to have the flu jab, last year I had it and had a reaction to it, basically ended up with the flu. It was awful. In fairness never had a reaction to it before but it has made me stop and think about it. I'm asthmatic so have it pretty much every year xx

Emscal · 07/10/2018 19:17

Hi sorry to jump in this thread I was just wondering how to start a new thread please :)

CollieQ · 07/10/2018 22:05

Hello, I’ve been following this whole thread for a while now and have finally plucked up the courage to write - so hello everyone & congratulations mums to be!!
I’m 9weeks and I have my doctors appointment on Tuesday and just don’t know what to expect - my DH isn’t coming with me... what’s people’s opinions/experience on the flu & whooping cough vaccination? Xxx

Lilbear14 · 08/10/2018 07:03

Urghhh I need a rant.
Last night was my worst night yet.
Forget morning sickness/nausea....I'm getting full blown night nausea.

I must have woken up ever hour last night feeling so so sick and this morning I just feel wiped.
My symptoms keep coming and going. I'll get a few days off any sickness, fatigue boated and sore boobs and then it comes back full force for days. Always seems to be when I'm due to go into uni aswell.

I checked my weight this morning and I've only gained 6lbs. Which I'm really chuffed with as I've eaten for 5 nevermind two. I did my measurements the other day and I've lost 0.5 inch under boob and 1 inch round my waist but 1.5 inch gained round my belly!!!!

SafariGirl100 · 08/10/2018 07:53

@Mummytoboyxx Have a great holiday. It will help to take your mind off things. I leave for Africa this week with DH (and will be hiking in the forest for mountain gorillas). Im actually looking forward to the distraction and when i get back i have midwife apptmt then stuff gets real 😆😆. Hoping I dont start morning sickness on the flight but am prepared (booked a seat near the loos). Lol

SafariGirl100 · 08/10/2018 07:56

PS ladies. I am actually starting to get a baby belly. A bump! (Not bloat for a change). Sounds ridiculous but it is exciting and feels more real now. Worried about jeans not fitting - am already considering leggins 🤣

CeeCee88 · 08/10/2018 08:28

Loving all the scan pictures! You ladies must be delighted. Smile

Our first one is two weeks today and we cannot wait...

Totally unrelated query, but has anyone else also started feeling a bit under the weather with the cold? My nose is totally blocked and I struggle sleeping because of it.
Do any of you know whether it is safe to use nasal spray throughout pregnancy, specifically in the first trimester?
I've not taken anything so far as I'm worried it might hurt the little bean.

@SafariGirl100 have an amazing time on your holiday! I'm sure it will make time go so much faster and hopefully you'll have an absolutely fantastic time.
