@AnotherOriginalUsername Yes actually i wouldnt be too bothered now with the "'kiwi" thing i got shown today still not sure on forceps but we amended my plan to say that in an event this would best to get the baby out i would agree to it, also learned a bit more regarding a water birth the consultant said she wouldnt reccomend actually having the baby in the water first time, she said they are big in the hospital on watching for perineal area and for tears and really looking after there (sorry if my spellings terrible ) that delivering on dry land is more supervised than in the water which was interesting to know it was always sort of my plan anyway to use the pool for pain relief and come out for delivery but this has confirmed it for me

AnotherOriginalUsername · 08/11/2018 21:43

My problem is that I'm allowed max. 30 minutes pushing before they intervene with forceps/ventouse.

I've got what's probably going to be my last obstetrician appointment tomorrow. I'm sure I have questions, but I'm buggered if I know what they are ....!

shallen · 09/11/2018 08:05

@julzx interesting you say that about getting out of the pool for the birth, I'm debating the same thing. Apparently You can ask the midwife to apply a warm compress to the bottom of your perineum as you are pushing, meant to help relax skin and reduce tears, which sounds good to me!

AnotherOriginalUsername · 09/11/2018 08:46

Well there could be a change of plan...

Baby has been head down and in perfect position since 24 weeks.

Today (36+1, induction in about 2 weeks) he's breech (and flipping huge!). Let's see what the consultant says Confused

Italianshark · 09/11/2018 09:56

@AnotherOriginalUsername I'm concerned mines flipped in the last week ☹️. Head was fully engaged last week and my bump dropped loads. Had reflexology and my bump has been so high ever since and I have a bowling ball poking out under my ribs. Feel really disappointed

shallen · 09/11/2018 10:06

@AnotherOriginalUsername @Italianshark
Nooo! How annoying!
Get on your yoga balls and see if you can flip them back. Or try Swimming, it turned my transverse baby, I felt her move, nearly downed halfway down the pool the movement was so strong!!!
Have a feeling she keeps trying to wiggle her way back sideways though.

AnotherOriginalUsername · 09/11/2018 11:15

@shallen I dunno... 7lbs 10 at 36+1 and an elective section is sounding more and more appealing 😂

Emma198 · 09/11/2018 11:54

Shock I'm 37+4 and my midwife said it's very unlikely baby will turn at this point, she's got her head right down but based on the small sample size of our group it seems it's not that unlikely afterall 😬

Consultant and midwife are in agreement that while growth scan at 33 weeks and my fundal measurements are all tracking just below 90th centile and she's currently 7lbs 7, when you press my belly she doesn't physically feel as big as that so I'm pinning all my hopes to that at the moment!

BrewsD · 09/11/2018 12:13

Signed off by consultant today after 3 long weeks of daily heart rate monitoring and numerous growth scans.

No induction necessary, 37+1 and baby's growth has picked up to a little below 50th centile as opposed to previous scans saying just on the 10th centile!

Big sigh of relief, now to focus on getting into our new house before due date.

Emma198 · 09/11/2018 12:18

Yyeeeyy well done @Brews. I hope you're taking a coordinating moving role!

BrewsD · 09/11/2018 12:21

Project manager @Emma198 😂

shallen · 09/11/2018 12:44

@AnotherOriginalUsername totally agree! In that case, stay on the sofa and do not move!!

AnotherOriginalUsername · 09/11/2018 13:17

Right, I'm doing it. I'm packing my bag. I guess I'm back up to a potential 5 day stay again now 🙄

ER1212 · 09/11/2018 15:05

Well first week of mat leave survived, going out for tea with hubby tonight. Out for a curry with the girls on Sunday too so might up my normal spice level to see if this baby wants to arrive next week!
Were still waiting for a move date too @BrewsD, was hoping to get one sorted today but solicitors still saying enquiries outstanding Hmm

BrewsD · 09/11/2018 15:27

How annoying @ER1212! Our solicitor has been an absolute nightmare, will be so happy to get in there.
You know the day you get the keys baby will come along!

orangejuicer · 09/11/2018 17:40

What are people's plans for this fine Friday evening? Brew

I've had a headache on and off all day and just generally feeling hormonal so probably an early one for me! Oh and looking at cordless vacuums. Exciting times.

AnotherOriginalUsername · 09/11/2018 18:01

Night in with the dog. Just about to drag him out in what sounds like gale force winds and driving rain Confused

AnotherOriginalUsername · 09/11/2018 18:02

Oh and trying not to be annoyed with the husband spending all evening on the PlayStation (again). I'll let him get away with it for now but he'll be in for a shock once baby is here!

Italianshark · 09/11/2018 18:53

I'm currently in the bath and gonna wax my moustache whilst OH enjoys a poker night 🤣!

shallen · 09/11/2018 19:23

Really exciting Friday night for me.
Been cleaning for the last 2 hours as Mum is coming over to stay for the weekend and baby shower on Sunday, which has now moved to my house, as my mates cat has the squitz so will stink everyone out of her house!!

Made hubby hoover the stairs though, I'm claiming a bad back!

AnotherOriginalUsername · 09/11/2018 19:59

@Italianshark ooh you're brave. I pay someone to do mine, I'd stick it on but never have the guts to rip it off again 😂

@shallen I do that with the washing up. Our sink is just a little too low for me at the best of times, but with a bump in the way it's just too far for me to bend over...

Not even sure why tbh, he's shit at washing up!

Emma198 · 09/11/2018 20:12

My husband has been doing all the hoovering for months 😬😬 I can't do anything that requires bending over for more than a few seconds now.

AnotherOriginalUsername · 09/11/2018 20:28

@Emma198 I'm making my husband come to the garage with me tomorrow as I need air in my tyres but can't bend over that long!

Still vacuuming though. He's shit at that too. Will literally hoover around the dogs toys and a pair of shoes Hmm

Emma198 · 09/11/2018 21:37

I'm lucky mine is like Kim and Aggie, he's quite anal about it all. Goes a bit far though, like insisting all the cans in the cupboard face forwards.

AnotherOriginalUsername · 09/11/2018 22:08

My tolerance for my husband is wearing thin 😂 I also have a friend who is getting on my nerves too. Unusual for me as I'm usually incredibly tolerant!!
