I'm 39 + 4 and am really over this (much wanted!) pregnancy. I'm not sleeping and today have cried at just about everything. Husband is being incredibly patient but feel guilty that I'm prob not best company for him or DS (3) right now.

Why why does the last month of pregnancy feel about 1000 days long?

Anyone else out there?

Hi everyone, joining in! 8 days over due today, feeling very uncomfortable, large and irrational 😁 no amount of walking, bouncing or spicy food has made a difference so far, so half tempted to turn into a slug for the next few days and just watch movies/bake/sit on my arse and rest till induction day as it’s less frustrating 😂

What is everyone looking forward to doing once they have had their babies? I am personally looking forward to not having to pee every hour 😁 and also buying some clothes that sort of fit! And eating some Brie with a glass of wine, obviously.

LaPufalina · 04/09/2018 08:56

Looking forward to lying on my stomach/back! Having a section tomorrow (as long as we don't get bumped!), can't remember how long it was last time before I could lie on my stomach but can't wait!
Also my DH bought me champagne for Xmas and that's in the fridge as I've been pregnant since then Grin

LucyLou19 · 04/09/2018 09:01

@beesknees having my Botox done!!!! Buying loads of new clothes and a good night out with the husband and the girls!!!!xx

Matilda1981 · 04/09/2018 09:31

Glad there’s a fair few of us feeling the same! I’m 2 days away from my due date so I keep telling myself te maximin I’ve got now is 2 weeks as it’ll come out some way or another by then! This is my third so I should have remembered how slow these last few weeks go but clearly I’d forgotten!!

FedUpEffedOff · 04/09/2018 10:04

Ooh, things to look forward to!.....
Botox
Teeth whitening
Resuming laser hair removal on neck and sideys
Having my nails put back on ( having CS on Thursday so had them removed last week)
Patê
Strangely I haven't really missed booze but that might all change!....

orphanblack1 · 04/09/2018 11:07

Oh god, red red wine. Can not wait for that! And teeth whitening (which I will need after the red wine!!).

It’s my 40th on 21 Sept and OH keeps asking me what I want to do - problem is I’ve no idea what stage I’ll be at then so have just suggested a lunch out (if still preg won’t want to go out in evening and if had baby prob can’t leave him, and suspect won’t want to). Obv I could be in labour on my 40th also! Not quite how I envisaged - plan was Vegas but hey ho!!!

Have decided fuck the SPD. Am bored and want to clean so gonna whack a girdle in and start on kitchen cupboards!!!

BeesKnees9 · 04/09/2018 13:20

Good luck @LaPufalina for your section tomorrow, I hope everything goes smoothly! BIG yes to comfortable sleeping, I can’t wait to be able to turn over without grunting and having to use momentum/getting stuck - the glamour!

Ooooo I didn’t know you couldn’t have teeth whitening/Botox whilst pregnant. @FedupEffedOff good luck for Thursday (also love your username 😁)

@orphanblack1 I assume all birthday plans will include red wine regardless right?! You are a trooper, so far I have eaten lunch and erm... that’s about it! Will be going on a short walk this afternoon so I’m counting that as my activity for today haha

orphanblack1 · 04/09/2018 13:44

@BeesKnees9 - if he’s not here by then I shall definitely be having a small glass but if he’s here, possibly slightly more!!!

OH was v impressed when he came home for lunch (bless him he’s coming home to check on me each day!) and id caned our massive pull out food cupboards which are now blissfully cleaned and organised (guessing won’t have much time to do this sort of thing once he’s here). Also hoping being active brings on labour - just had a couple of period pains but don’t think that’s it!!!

So glad i found this thread!

Feeling low and miserable myself! I am 34+4 and spend lots of time alone. Struggling with getting things done and am in the middle of buying a new house. Baby keeps me up alot at night kicking my ribs and although im grateful to know shes okay i am shattered most of the day! Just got back from a little food shopping where i walked around the whole shop feeling numb, i want to cry but cant explain how i feel so anyone. Have tried not to tantrum or shout lots as i can be quite explosive once i go just dont know how to express my loneliness.

This probably makes no sense whatsoever Blush

orphanblack1 · 04/09/2018 14:51

@user1906 - I think we all feel like you at times - I think it’s just the being in limbo plus the tiredness from all the extra weight, hormones and being unable to sleep. Is there anything you can do as a treat to yourself for being such an awesome goddess?

Remember ladies, we are all rockstars for growing and carrying a child

Toofle · 04/09/2018 15:59

The first 8 months take 8 months and the last month takes another 8 months.

LucyLou19 · 04/09/2018 16:52

I’m having my nails and feet done Friday morning then I have midwife then eyelashes appointment 👌🏼That’ll cheer me up xx

billybigballs · 04/09/2018 21:38

Ah user you sound quite sad Thanks if it's a persistent low mood have you thought about mentioning to your mw?

As for what I'm looking forward to post birth...wine and sleeping on my front. Or just sleeping in general Grin

@orphanblack1 thank you. I know we are all doing something so amazing and i am excited to meet her, i just cant shake this sad and lonely feeling. My DH is so brilliant and does everything he can for me, i often feel sorry for him. His job is very physical and he then comes home and helps with housework and doesnt complain.

This is my first child and im super worried about whether i'll ever feel like myself again?? I know its going to be hard looking after a newborn and i'll hardly sleep but i also know it will be rewarding too.

Maybe i'll visit some relatives today, that might help!

Search under my posts - I have been exactly where you are. I'm now 39+3 and scheduled CS tomorrow as baby is breech. But more importantly, I moved house at 36 weeks after a +3 month delay. I thought it would be the cure to feeling a lot more settled and ready for first baby. But actually I've felt very stressed and anxious ever since.

Things are better this week and what helped was finally opening up to close family/friends and my community midwife, who I ended up crying to for about 45 mins at last week's appt. It did actually help to get it all out. Do not feel like you should be feeling a certain way. It's tough and people need to be more honest about that. Big hugs Thanks

user1906 · 05/09/2018 13:27

@FedUpEffedOff thank you so much for sharing.

I am in the middle buying a house and feel the desperation to nest but its taking it time as house purchases do🙄😩

Our stuff is in chaos and my mind feels the same! I just need to get in that house and clean it and make it into a home!

Ive visited my grandparents today and it has helped lots. i think im my own worst enemy really, i dont want to answer phone calls or speak to people some days but other days feel lonely.

Its just refreshing to know im not the only one!!Smile

user1906 · 05/09/2018 13:28

Good luck tomorrow. I hope it all goes well @FedUpEffedOff Grin

billybigballs · 05/09/2018 14:41

Good luck FedUp. Don't suppose anyone else has had a baby?
Insomnia is really getting to me atm. I can't even sleep in the day. I feel as if I'm going slowly mad and really worried how this will play out after the baby is born. Have just been for a long walk which felt nice though.

Thank you all.

Pre-op checks have gone well so with a bit of luck the baby will be 'out' tomorrow.

If I don't get a chance to come back on, good luck to those still waiting..... Thanks

Halfeatentoast · 05/09/2018 18:51

Waves at LucyLou

Tired and achy today with BH and occasional sharp pains in cervix. Got 9 days left until due. Glad there are others here, love to you all!

orphanblack1 · 05/09/2018 21:01

Had MW appointment today - he’s 1/5 palpable so has moved down by 2/5 over last 2 weeks.

MW going to offer me a sweep at 39+4 if I don’t go for c section on 12th (currently 38+2) as I need gas and air for it and she is chief midwife and away after that for a week.

Trying raspberry leaf tea and pineapple to no avail. Quite a bit of thunder crotch at times

LucyLou19 · 05/09/2018 21:31

We’re all in the same fed up boat arnt we!! 4 more hours left at work yippeeee!! Midwife on Friday defo gonna ask for a sweep my next one after that! Been drinking raspberry tea since 33 weeks, upto 2 cups a day now it doesn’t induce labour by the way it helps your cervix become from favourable and speeds up second part of labour apparently. Seemed to work for me with second xx

blueelephant91 · 05/09/2018 22:51

41 weeks and had a failed induction last weekend - spent 2 days in hospital. Due to be induced again this weekend! Beyonnnnnd fed up!

pooch904 · 05/09/2018 23:45

Hi guys!
Hope everyone is holding up okay!! So on Monday morning I finally had my baby! .. Not what you guys wanna hear I'm sure but I just wanted to say the sweep obviously worked the Friday before so if anyone is considering it then I'd give it a go! I suppose being 10 days overdue probably gave it a higher chance of working but I'm so glad I had it as my induction was booked for today and I could not have lasted till now!! I hope everyone's feeling okay thinking of you all. Thankyou for listening to me whine on you ladies have been fab when I thought i was on my own! Xxx

billybigballs · 06/09/2018 02:20

Hi all.. well I've just had a baby! My long walk must have done the trick or she was just ready to arrive. Really quick (painful) labour. Just to give you all hope, I felt completely normal until about 4 this afternoon.

Best of luck to you xx
