I sobbed today just looking at one of my dogs because she just looked so loving and I felt guilty for her having such a boring day today. Ridiculous! It’s so nice to have this thread to know there are others in the same boat.

SuperVeggie · 11/09/2018 21:09

Haha sorry @GinGeum but that did make me chuckle! I have eaten my (increasing) body weight in pizza and brownies tonight so I’m feeling a bit better and also a bit more podgy!

@sexnotgender I feel massive already. One of my more ‘direct’ colleagues at work today told me I look very big for 20 weeks! Ha!

Harrypotterfan1604 · 11/09/2018 21:28

I’m 23+4 and have in this last week felt the movement much stronger than before. I have an anterior placenta so hasn’t been expecting to feel much just yet so it’s quite nice and certainly reassuring x

doleritedinosaur · 12/09/2018 11:45

Just had the anomaly scan & baby is fine, half as awkward as last time so heart took almost 20 minutes to scan.
Feel so relieved now. Placenta was where I thought it was, anterior as I’ve not felt many kicks but lots of rolls so looks like I’m all clear for my home birth just waiting for consultant.

I’ve felt movement since ten weeks but this is my third & it’s more rolls & light kicks. I won’t feel much before 24 weeks really as had one with my first.

Just waiting for baby now. Nausea is back unless I eat crap foods. & I found a cure for constipation, yoga hahaha.

Hope everyone is okay.

Kate123cl · 12/09/2018 13:56

I had my anomaly scan today too. Everything is fine, definitely a boy! Got some really clear pictures.

@doleritedinosaur His heart took ages to scan too, really difficult position!

The sonographer did say that my placenta is quite low lying though so likely to be booked in for extra scans.

Wowthisisreal · 12/09/2018 19:30

Had my first randomer come up and feel my 'bump' today without asking. Guess I must be showing (finally!)

sexnotgender · 12/09/2018 19:47

Random bump touchers are not ok! WTF is wrong with people?

Wowthisisreal · 12/09/2018 19:53

@sexnotgender not just a touch but a full on rub /stroke. I was in a queue and talking to her and then she started caressing it. I was shocked more than anything!!

cryptonaut · 12/09/2018 19:54

Luckily not had strangers do it... but friends and family seem to think it's ok to not ask either Envy

sexnotgender · 12/09/2018 19:55

I would absolutely hate thatSad I had to get my husband to tell his mother to stop pawing me. It’s so rude.

doleritedinosaur · 12/09/2018 19:55

@Kate123cl I had to go onto my sleeping position in the end. Just glad it didn’t take a hour this time.
I had a low lying placenta last time & had a scan at 32 weeks & it had moved, did they say if it was anterior low lying or posterior?

@Wowthisisreal sorry that happened to you. People just seem to think pregnancy & babies are fair game. I had a random old lady kiss my eldest when he was 6 days old in a shop & I nearly lost it.

It is ridiculous.

Still after 3 scans & feeling movement doesn’t feel like I’m having a baby. Waiting for the penny to drop.

Kate123cl · 12/09/2018 20:04

@doleritedinosaur My placenta is anterior. Hopefully it'll move like yours did!

Harrypotterfan1604 · 12/09/2018 20:46

I’ve had one random bump toucher I slapped her hand away 😂 it’s not ok!

Pelly8 · 12/09/2018 22:40

oh dear bump touchers are not ok!

I have a low anterior placenta too but have still felt baby move and tonight my partner felt the baby move too! It was little thumps which I think must be kicks?? I'm hoping it wasn't just vigorous digestion as my partner got very excited! I am 22 + 6

I have also been up and down with my emotions ranging from deliriously happy for no reason to almost crying about leaving the cat on her own to go to work (cat doesn't care).

I've also been eating loads and had shepherds pie for 8 people in one sitting over the weekend...ooops!!

HolDaws · 13/09/2018 06:28

Is anyone suffering with pregnancy insomnia? Confused

SuperVeggie · 13/09/2018 06:56

Yes to the insomnia! I’m never normally awake this early (I know that sounds ridiculous and it’s not even early for most peopl) but usually I can sleep straight through from when I go to bed at 10.30 until an alarm goes off. Now I wake up multiple times a night and can’t get back to sleep! So annoying. Then I end up being really tired at work.

aburrow93 · 13/09/2018 07:04

I'm exactly the same! Normally my alarm goes of at 7.45am and I'm always still asleep. But the the last 3 or 4 weeks I'm always wide awake between 6 and 7 and I have NEVER been a morning person so this is really strange for me. I also wake up wide awake during the night a few times and can take forever to get back to sleep

Pelly8 · 13/09/2018 07:53

I’ve also suffered from insomnia, especially over the past week when i’ve also had a cold. I did start drinking Pukka night time tea but it has liquorice root in it and apparently you are meant to steer clear of that during pregnancy.

I usually go to bed at 10/12 then wake up at 1am then go to sleep, then 3am and stay awake until 5:30am then wake up at 6:30am! Maybe it’s our bodies trying to prep us?!?

Kate123cl · 13/09/2018 07:55

I'm the complete opposite! I'm usually up at 6am even on weekends and last Saturday I slept from 9pm all the way through to 12:30pm! Shock I've also become a heavier sleeper, usually the slightest thing wakes me up.

Merrz · 13/09/2018 08:18

No insomnia here either. I'm going to bed 10pmish (which is normal for me) and sound asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow, right through until my alarm, apart from the odd toilet trip! I'm usually a proper morning bird, alarm goes off at 6am and i'm usually awake and waiting for it but this last while it's been a real struggle getting up.

purplesmiler · 13/09/2018 08:26

I'm with @Kate123cl I used to wake up quite early and feel ready for the day. Now getting myself up takes real effort I drop back to sleep and this can be for a couple of hours.

Curlypop · 13/09/2018 08:29

I had my whooping cough vaccination yesterday afternoon and all fine. But this morning my arm aches and I've just gone all hot and dizzy like before you faint, is this a side effect of the jab or general pregnancy?

I'm not suffering with insomnia atm. But last pregnancy had it really bad.

GinGeum · 13/09/2018 09:07

Insomnia here too, out like a light about 9pm but then normally wake up for a few hours at 1am ish. If I go to bed a bit later, I normally can sleep through till about 3 or 4, but then can’t get back to sleep at all and become a zombie for the rest of the day! I’ve been finding it more comfortable to sleep with a pillow between my legs, but I’ve been woken up by cramps in my calves since doing it annoyingly. I’m hobbling around like I’ve run a marathon but without the glory Grin

Curly my arm ached for about two days after the whooping cough, and for those two days I was also the most tired I’d ever been (like first trimester tired). I don’t know if the tiredness was coincidence or a side effect of the jab though.

Pelly8 · 13/09/2018 09:32

@curlypop I had my jab on Monday and my arm is still a bit sore! I’ve had a cold so have been feeling a bit hot and dizzy anyway. The nurse told me there shouldn’t be any side effects with the jab other than a sore arm. Do you think you could be coming down with something? Might be worth calling your midwife to put your mind at ease.

Reminder to all: get your flu jabs when they come out! I’ve only had the sniffles but it’s been horrible and tough to shake off!

cryptonaut · 13/09/2018 11:10

Flu jabs should be available soon. Had a letter from the GP surgery yesterday with a list of drop in flu jab clinics starting this weekend.
