@Quirkycutekitch2011 I've only just started needing maternity jeans but leggings and a comfy jumper dress is what I tend to wear.

doleritedinosaur · 22/09/2018 22:48

Oliver & Olivia are top names in my old area. Amelia & Jack are top here which is true for my son’s nursery year.

@Quirky I’ve done the same, I’ve sized up in Morrison’s leggings which are amazing.

I’ve now looked at New Look & debating a maternity jumper now. I really want dungarees but I pee a lot when baby’s head is on my bladder & I know I would get annoyed at pulling them up & down.

Finally did some yoga after not managing since Monday & I can notice the difference, especially with lowering my back. Think I’m fitter than before I got pregnant.

HolDaws · 23/09/2018 08:43

Morning Ladies. Would you recommend yoga and Pilates? I used to do it last year and thought it might help with my lower backaches. New Look is great for the Jenna jeans and t-shirts. H&M good too and neither too expensive. I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for some of these leggings. All of mine have gone see-through, which is not a good look!

Went pram and furniture shopping yesterday to the Mamas and Papas outlet and everything was half price. Not sure if any of you guys have one near you but this one was at Huddersfield.

Thanks for the name link, it's really interesting

Hope everyone is feeling okay, anxiety-wise and in body xx

HolDaws · 23/09/2018 08:44

@doleritedinosaur love the sound of those dungarees!!

HolDaws · 23/09/2018 08:53

Not to bring the vaccines conversation up again but thank you all for stating your views. As someone who has never really thought about it either way, it had prompted me to do my own reading so I can make up my mind. Will more than likely but booking for both but a debate always makes you think so thanks for that Smile

jadem1990 · 23/09/2018 08:58

I have started pregnancy yoga and it's really good especially for breathing exercises and birth prep. I'm on my 4th week and I did think it was a little easy as I'm used to high intensity training but I am definitely seeing the advantages now I'm a little further along.

I only have a shower and we did debate putting one in however from speaking to the midwife she said it was absolutely fine not having a bath. It is probably easier but it's definitely not worth it for us personally.

I've certainly popped in my 23rd week (finally). Baby isnt hiding as much as it has been in the past.

I have my 24 week apptm with the midwife tomorrow so fingers crossed everything is ok!

I hope all of you are doing ok! 16 weeks to go for me! Seems to be going so fast!

cryptonaut · 23/09/2018 09:13

We were painting the nursery yesterday. The room was in a right state and we've been putting off doing it up since we moved in. We've spent weeks doing all the prep work to make the room decent again and give us a blank canvas but yesterday we finally managed to get the first coat of colour on the walls Grin one more coat of paint now and that's it for the paint! We need to replace the carpet, which we can do now, and then we can finally furnish and prepare for our little guys arrival Grin

Merrz · 24/09/2018 09:20

Good luck with your Midwife appointment today @jadem1990 That's good to hear about the Yoga! I feel like the time is flying past too, not sure if i'm excitement or frightened by it Confused

Eek how exciting getting the nursery painted @cryptonaut I can't wait to starting buying furniture and stuff. I'm thinking about buying normal bedroom furniture like a chest of drawers and bedside table so it will last for years then the only baby specific things i would get are a nursing chair, cot and changing table. What is everyone else getting to put in the nursery?

cryptonaut · 24/09/2018 10:20

We're reusing a single wardrobe, some bedside tables and a bookshelf. We've got a sofa bed that was used as a spare bed when we were in a one bed flat, we considered selling it but it will be useful to have a guest bed and I can use it as somewhere to nurse so we don't have to buy a nursing chair. Then the only specific nursery furniture we've bought is a cotbed and a changing table.

Hi ladies, do you mind if i hop on?

Im 21+6 4th pregnancy everything going great so far but i have had a 1st trimester mmc followed by a stillbirth then a 2nd trimester mmc so been wary about joining a group but my query brings me here...has anyone had much time off work pregnancy related?

I am shattered today! No particular reason, maybe a little bit of stress just from being pregnant with my history and in the process of buying our first home but it literally feels hard work to keep my eyes open right now probabky exagerrating from feeling tired has anyone else felt similar?

Rarfy · 24/09/2018 10:34

@Ironytheoppositeofwrinkly sorry if it might be a little late - just wanted to let you know i have had an amnio. I didn't feel any pain. You get a funny sensation when the needle goes through the sak almost like an electric shock but definitely not painful or not in my experience anyway. I think i took 2 days off afterwards as the advise was to have bedrest but i thought i might need an amnio this time and i think the advice on bed rest may have changed slightly. I had my initial results 2 days later i think.

Ironytheoppositeofwrinkly · 24/09/2018 10:47

Amnio went fine. Brutally painful as they had to go through by my belly button and the placenta but all went okay. Hope everyone is doing okay :)

Rarfy · 24/09/2018 10:55

Ouch that sounds awful @Ironytheoppositeofwrinkly glad that part is out of the way now.

I have had a little lurk on the thread and saw some of what you have been going through and really sympathise. Not quite the same but in a previous pregnancy i received worrying news at 20 week scan. My sons right leg hadn't developed properly he had talipes and scoliosis and the consutants didnt know what it was or what had caused it. Is was a very worrying time.

Kate123cl · 24/09/2018 10:55

@Rarfy Welcome! I've had quite a bit of time off for sickness and exhaustion in the 1st trimester! Sounds silly but I've come down with a horrible cold and I've actually phoned in sick today as it's completely wiped me out! it feels slightly different when pregnant as you can't take anything for it!

@Ironytheoppositeofwrinkly I'm so sorry to hear it was painful - sounds awfulSad, I hope the results come back okay x

Kate123cl · 24/09/2018 10:56

Also, @Rarfy I'm very sorry to hear about your losses Thanks x

Ironytheoppositeofwrinkly · 24/09/2018 10:57

Thank you both, the fluid round the baby had almost doubled, so I'm feeling a bit of a giddy high from that! It's been a roller coaster ride so far, that's for sure.

Rarfy · 24/09/2018 11:16

Thanks kate. I can't decide whether exhaustion is a worthwhile enough reason iyswim. I only do admin work but they're long days and require a lot of concentration which isn't great when your heads just not in the game.

That sounds like good news irony

GinGeum · 24/09/2018 14:03

Irony when will you hear the results from the amnio?

purplesmiler · 24/09/2018 14:13

@Ironytheoppositeofwrinkly sounds so painful hope you are doing ok.

Welcome on board and congratations @Rarfy

Just been to the Mothercare outlet and got the travel system we wanted for 140 quid bargain thought it was good price at 300.

Rarfy · 24/09/2018 14:58

Thanks @purplesmiler. Wow that is a bargain! Is it the journey? Seen lots of good reviews about it on another thread last week.

purplesmiler · 24/09/2018 15:20

Yes @Rarfy it's the journey, heard lots of good things and we are on a budget so very happy. Also I wanted it in red but they had stopped doing it to order but it was the red ones in the sale along with a couple of other colours.

Rarfy · 24/09/2018 15:54

Well that certainly sounds bargainous and even better you got the colour you wanted. I am trying to budget by only buying the things we really need so have done lots of research on here and with family as to what people did and didn't use. I think it's quite easy to get carried away with you4 first.

Ironytheoppositeofwrinkly · 24/09/2018 17:00

Will hopefully get the preliminary results in 3 days, the T13 T18 and T21 screening, and then have to wait up to 2 weeks for the rest of it which will test for all other major defects.

Ironytheoppositeofwrinkly · 24/09/2018 17:01

Thanks purplesmiler it was really really painful, but I am so, so glad I had it done as I wouldn't even try to go to term with either Edwards or Patau syndromes.

Harrypotterfan1604 · 24/09/2018 19:09

@irony sorry it hurt so much :( rest up now sending you lots of love x
