JUST FOR FUN! No idea how far gone I am (have midwife tomorrow!) But my cravings are going mental for really random things yet my nose can't even stand basic smells! What's the weirdest things you have craved? xxxxx

Chewing on (new) bath sponges, it ramped up to washing up sponges by the end of the pregnancy as they had more texture. SO glad that disappeared when I had the baby.

My weirdest craving was with DD1 which was cold spaghetti hoops with vanilla ice cream Envy

DaisyBlameless · 20/08/2018 23:20

White chalk. Hundreds of sticks of it

SarahBeeney · 20/08/2018 23:22

Pints of ice cubes to crunch through of an evening. I'd get through a few an evening.
The thought of crunching ice now literally sets my teeth on edge.

Bubbaduck · 20/08/2018 23:26

I craved beer, but not to drink, I just bought it to sniff it. Blush

polkadotpixie · 20/08/2018 23:59

There's a tyre place next to my work and I've seriously considered going in and asking if I can lick them 😂

rampantrose · 21/08/2018 00:08

These are brilliant! Last pregnancy my other half was not impressed I wanted McDonald's fries dipped in milkshake which i found fairly normal! So far tonight I'm craving cheese mash with chicken gravy not a combo I would ever eat! And ice cold drinks. I hate cold things with a passion! Loving the smell of coffee at the moment too!

Tinned fruit in juice here. I was crazy for it. Not the syrup ones, but mandarins, peaches, strawberries, pineapple in juice

Flowerfae · 21/08/2018 00:15

sponge (not sponge cake.. actually sponge like a bath sponge) dipped in hot water and washing up liquid used to suck it, weird. Only happened with DD, mind you she's weird soo...

Spilledmycoffee · 21/08/2018 00:20

Chewable gaviscon.

Can't stand the texture now but I craved that crunch and then chalkiness. I tried one a couple of weeks after giving birth just to see and was like wtf?! This is vile Confused

Iwantaunicorn · 21/08/2018 00:24

Shortbread biscuits and chocolate milk. I bought both the other day when we were doing the food shop, my husband looked at me and said “oh god, you’re not are you?!”

DeadDoorpost · 21/08/2018 00:30

So many food aversions... only craving of a sort that I had was laying on my front. Was the only way I could be comfortable.

Reaa · 21/08/2018 00:31

Iwantaunicorn are you?

shotgun1 · 21/08/2018 00:36

I craved sugar with both my pregnancies. Like straight out the jar on a spoon. I used to ration myself to 4 teaspoons a day maximum. Thank god it went as soon as both babies were born 😅

amilosingitor · 21/08/2018 00:40

Never had any weird cravings just go through phases of things and then stop. I've craved ice through all 3 of my pregnancies, can't get enough although apparently that's a sign of lack of iron so not that weird for pregnancy. My ex SIL also craved sponges and scouring pads, she used to cut them into strips and just keep them in her pocket to chew on when she felt like it!

Iwantaunicorn · 21/08/2018 00:50

reaa I’m not lol. My DTs are only 6 months, I think another one right now would probably kill me...!

BlueJava · 21/08/2018 00:53

Pizza with black berries on, seemed so good!!! DP was like WTAF?

Carouselfish · 21/08/2018 01:13

Not too too weird but french fries dipped in absolute handfuls of wholegrain mustard. Tons of it.

feemee · 21/08/2018 01:21

Washing powder. Just to sniff. I really wanting to take a zip lock bag of it to work to help my craving but realised sniffing a white powder at work may be frowned upon by some!

charlieloulou · 21/08/2018 01:28

Another one for bath sponges, loved them rinsed in Johnsons baby wash (blue one) chewed on them every day, craving disappeared straight after birth.

Mrstobe90 · 21/08/2018 01:35

Didn't really have any weird cravings. There was a short period of wanting chocolate cake all the time and the one day of being absolutely desperate for a carvery (dh said no and I cried for about an hour).
The weirdest thing in my pregnancy was the aversions. Went off most food and couldn't stand cups of tea (usually drink them until they're coming out of my ears) and I also went of tap water. Was physically sick after having any. I had to drink bottled water and my dd is now 6.5 months old and I can still only drink bottled water.

rampantrose · 21/08/2018 01:37

So many people craving sponges! The texture makes me cringe can't imagine what if do if I craved them! Saying that I'm only first trimester so a long way to go yet! Anything is possible! Sniffing a white powder at work really made me laugh though! Xxxx

Cold baked beans. @mrstobe90 Ive completely gone off tea too. Used to drink 6/7 cups a day now I cant even dunk a biscuit without feeling sick

leanne9312 · 21/08/2018 06:24

Mine is weird but I have been having coffee from a metal flask :/ tastes different than a mug mmmm

Mrstobe90 · 21/08/2018 06:42

@Clarashan it's frustrating isn't it! Bring English, tea is like a way of life! Lol
My husband and I always chat over cups of tea so when I went off it, it actually bothered him haha. He was so happy when I could drink it again as he said he missed us having a brew and a natter!
