JUST FOR FUN! No idea how far gone I am (have midwife tomorrow!) But my cravings are going mental for really random things yet my nose can't even stand basic smells! What's the weirdest things you have craved? xxxxx

mine was chewing on tissues, and also licking sticks of chalk.

GrumpyOldMare · 21/08/2018 07:01

With my daughter it was salt and vinegar crisps stuck into a mars bar.
With my son it was cornflakes in milk with pickled onions and sugar.

mellongoose · 21/08/2018 07:29

A daffodil. I resisted and had an apple 🍎

MrsPussinBoots · 21/08/2018 07:30

Poppadoms and mango chutney. I remember crying in the supermarket because they didn't have the right brand of mango chutney Blush

myotherbagisgucci · 21/08/2018 08:06

Not very weird, but warburtons crumpets covered in Lurpak! I ate that many, DD is pretty much 50% crumpet! Lol

fieryginger · 21/08/2018 08:22

Mentholyptus - I could've ate them night and day. Not strange, you might think, but years after this pregnancy by DM said "when I was pregnant with you, I craved these constantly", when I offered her one 😮

Zamaz · 21/08/2018 08:38

Smelling and chewing rubber bands!!!

zoobud · 21/08/2018 08:41

Brick dust. I've fucked my teeth up and the looks from the dentist are Hmm

billybigballs · 21/08/2018 17:38

Petrol, and fire lighters. I actually asked DH if a nibble (of a fire lighter) would really be so bad. It's been so intense at times towards the end of this pregnancy it's made me really mad I can't have either.

fuzzywuzzy · 21/08/2018 17:42

Sparkling water and it had to be San Pelegrino, I could taste the difference and couldn’t drink any other brand.

The odd thing is I hated sparkling water prior to the pregnancy!

The craving has sort of stayed and I still only drink sparkling water, thankfully it’s any sparkling water now.

Bath sponges with 4 of mine.
With one of them i had to chew them with a specific shower gel on and warm water. Had to be warm. Can't have been good for me Confused

With that baby I also craved polish and would spend most of my time polishing the entire house just for the smell. I really struggled not to lick the stuff off of the furniture.

Unfortunately the bath sponge thing hasn't quite gone away after my last baby... and she's 10 months old now Grin

Grimbles · 21/08/2018 18:10

Mine was sponge too. I just loved chewing them, but they had to be the right type/texture - there were certain types that just didn't have the same chewability Grin

mydogishot · 21/08/2018 18:45

1st pregnancy was cheese and apples. Really strong cheddar and sour apples.

2nd pregnancy was beetroot. Baby beetroot in jars. I would buy massive jars and they'd last an hour.

TeenagersandFurbabies · 21/08/2018 18:56

Raspberries while pregnant with my DDs. But I absolutely detest raspberries, the taste, the texture, the seeds & the way they make my mouth feel really dry. I ate loads of them I couldn't get enough of them I just had to have them. Thankfully the craving only lasted as long as the morning sickness.

Spooples · 21/08/2018 18:58

I'm only 10 weeks so haven't had many, but I cannot get enough coleslaw right now. I bloody hate coleslaw usually but I'm eating it by the bucket!

HarshingMyMellow · 21/08/2018 19:01

Radox - Stress Relief bubble bath.
I would use a bottle every day. Run the bath and pour half in, sit smelling the rest and then wash my entire body with it.
I had to physically restrain myself from drinking it.

Bath sponges dipped in said Radox bath water. I'd suck the (clean!!!) bath water out of the sponge and chew for ages.
Rinse and repeat.

SleightOfMind · 21/08/2018 19:01

I had smell cravings. Creosote, tee trea oil, petrol. That sort of chemically harsh smell.

Kept a bottle of TT oil about my person for covert snorting and had to be bodily removed from newly rainproofed fencing.

I’m still not ready to talk about petrol stations Blush

PinkSquidgyPig · 21/08/2018 19:39

Cabbage!!
Which was ok, but it went hand in hand with a revulsion for chocolate (even a small bit made me throw up!! Sigh)

billybigballs · 21/08/2018 21:12

SleightOfMind that's exactly the same as me. TT oil has saved me from wanting to guzzle petrol (though I still want to do that)

seizethecuttlefish · 21/08/2018 22:56

Don't know if it's weird but I just wanted wendsleydake cheese with cranberries. I could eat blocks of it. I was pretty sick, so I'll let you fill in the blanks on how bad the next part was Confused

housewifeoflittleitaly · 21/08/2018 23:02

Oh the sponge thing is amazing, so weird! But I am completely sympathetic, with my dd it was washing powder, Suft tropical to be exact. I’d smell:play with it all day long. Unfortunately 8 years later and I still adore it and want to eat it.... never have though.

SpottedTiger · 22/08/2018 10:14

Bacon and burgers, nearly cried at thought there might not be time to pop into McDonald's for breakfast yesterday before work, had to stop at a garage for a bacon sandwich to ensure I didn't miss out. (Normally don't like McDonald's much) Gone off chocolate too.

Delly80 · 22/08/2018 15:15

I'm 11 weeks and suffering from terrible 'morning' sickness. But when (if) I feel up to eating something I just can't get enough of Rustlers Burgers. Those microwavable things that I normally wouldn't eat. Oh god, they are amazing right now.

RosiePosies · 22/08/2018 16:50

I have an actual problem with fizzy water right now. I feel anxious if i don't have a bottle in my hand and am easily getting through 8 bottles a day. I'd get through more if I could afford it. Poor environment : (

BrewsD · 30/08/2018 01:27

Apple juice 🍎 isn't exactly a weird craving, I just suddenly NEED a glass of it & nothing else will quench my thirst!

After months of hyperemesis my aversions have become cheese, quinoa, toast, beetroot, crackers, milk and any form of Chinese/Indian/Turkish take out. Even the sight of quinoa makes me wretch after a miserable experience at week 8 of pregnancy and I'm too nervous to try any of the others because of how ill they made me last time!
