Am I worrying needlessly?!

Hi guys, I'm reasonably young but I'm not sure if I'm pregnant- I know to be certain I need to see a GP (I'm doing it this week but I would like peace of mind). I'm not sure if I'm pregnant, I have a lot of signs telling me I'm not, e.g regular periods since I started when I was 13/ I have no other pregnancy symptoms apart from nausea but I haven't actually been sick so I guessed it was PMS/I've had stomach cramps but again put it down to PMS. I've had back pain- but I've had a bad back for a couple of years from the sport I do.
Me and my boyfriend use a condom every time but that's the only method of birth-control, as far as I know the condom has never split- but I know there is always a chance it failed.
I have however had unusual bloating for a couple of months when I first got it I put it down to PMS, but its continued for a while this is the main reason I think I'm pregnant. Being very sporty I always had a flat stomach but now I don't, although tbh I don't even know if it is bloating as I've heard bloating is hard, but when you push my abdomen its soft and squishy-Is this what a pregnancy bump is like? Also I've read you can feel the top of the uterus above the pubic bone- do you know how many weeks you start to feel this from as I have no clue how far along I am because of the regular bleeding.
I know I have had monthly bleeding, but I've read that you can bleed monthly and still be pregnant- how common is this- is it anything like a period, e.g does pregnancy bleeding just come at anytime, rather than on a cycle like a period does?? Is there any physical difference in the way the blood looks colour/consistency?? How’s long does pregnancy bleeding last e.g 5-7 days like a period or does it vary??
Or are thy just exactly the same?
(I don’t mean spotting I mean physical bleeding during pregnancy- as I know some women have been pregnant and mistaken it for a period ??)
I hope they are my periods as they don't seem different to usual and they come regularly. I really cant be pregnant and I'm getting anxiety over it, I'm crying because of it- can someone please reassure me.
also I've had a bad cough for about a month and I've lost 6kg in two months without trying if this helps?!
Also taken 3 pregnancy tests all negative!

please let me know if I'm worrying unnecessarily??

Thanks x

It could absolutely be. Anxiety makes me very nauseous.

PurpleFlower1983 · 09/08/2018 08:22

Yes definitely. Anxiety is a strange thing. I had a muscular problem in my left shoulder that radiated into my chest. I ended up going to A&E feeling like I was having a heart attack! I knew the chest pains were linked to my shoulder but my brain told me differently.

Did you get your blood results OP?

crl200 · 10/08/2018 05:56

No blood results back, I assume noting is wrong because when my sister had stomach pain they called her up about her blood tests the next day to say they were worried. My bloating completely swelled up yesterday to the point where I looked pregnant, I hope it’s not a bump as it is still big this morning but had shrunk a bit and I don’t think a bump would do that, the doctor said if there was noting wrong they wouldn’t call, so it would seem in okay, I’m still feeling very sick this morning. I don’t really want to chase it up if there’s actually noting wrong so I guess I’ll jeep to the pain killers for now

You. Are. NOT. Pregnant

It is not a bump, it is bloating! Bumps don't go up and down.

Accept it - you are not pregnant. At all.

You use protection, you have periods and none of your symptoms are pregnancy symptoms.

You are ignoring everyone here so please, let me hammer it home.

You are not pregnant
You are not pregnant
You are not pregnant

crl200 · 10/08/2018 06:17

I know I have accepted it so thank you.
is it normal for your stomach to hurt when you apply a bit of pressure to it because when I push down on my belly bottom and the area just above it I get a sharp intense pain- should this be normal (like is it just how your organs react to pressure). I don’t really get pain in a specific place it’s all over but when I press it’s only around the belly button?? Should I push to get it checked out again?

That is very common with bloating and gas. It sounds like you may have a good intolerance - that would also cause the nausea.

Start a food diary and note when your bloating is worse and see if there's any correlation.

I am sure the blood test will show that you are not pregnant.
However you are obviously very anxious and stressed about the possibility of falling pregnant so once the GP has diagnosed the cause for your tenderness/ bloating I think it might be worth considering a different form of contraception to use as well as condoms such as the pill /depo injection. That way you can be absolutely sure you cannot fall pregnant and you can avoid all this worry.

Modestandatinybitsexy · 10/08/2018 06:57

My friend who's a coeliac gets those symptoms if she eats gluten. Have you checked for any food intolerances?

crl200 · 10/08/2018 06:59

GP was going to test for it, but I’ve heard nothing back. I’m going to try a food diary

What age are you?
Have you seen the GP about anxiety?
This internet isn't a place to be asking so many questions, listen to and trust a real life GP.

crl200 · 10/08/2018 10:45

Blood tests came back as normal, but still experiencing symptoms, so I've booked to go back to GP at lunchtime

Ibs won't show up in blood tests, you have to look at what you're eating and approach it through elimination diets.

Look at the fodmaps diet and see if there's anything on there you think is triggering it.

Gluten and lactose, onions, garlic, high fibre foods are the main protagonists.

Hey guys, I just wanted to say thank you so much for all the reassurance and advice, GP just confirmed not pregnant which is great and expected. Anxiety should hopefully go now- I'm still having issues with the bloating and my confidence so if anyone has any tips that would be great. Bloods showed nothing wrong but I still have tenderness and discomfort, so hopefully medication will help. For those of you interested GP's best guess was excess acid in the stomach causing irritability to the stomach and intestine lining. To be sure GP also said keep a food diary to look for any patterns, although I don't think its an intolerance as pain is there all the time and doesn't really worsen after I eat. Thank you again guys x

Good news. Find some ways to relax and maybe look into your contraception as perhaps you'll feel more comfortable if you double up. Also use a period tracker app if you don't already. I find them handy for knowing what's going on with my body.

Mrstobe90 · 10/08/2018 21:27

I'm glad you got the reassurance that you need and I hope your stomach issues get resolved quickly x
