@Alicejj8x I'd say share the news. I was told that if you get to 10/11 weeks it's just as viable as 12 weeks. It's just that bub is too small to do the anomaly tests which is why on nhs you wait until 12ish weeks. I personally told everyone immediately as I knew I'd share with them if I lost bub again.

Alicejj8x · 05/08/2018 19:09

@Cakelaur
Ahh thank you that's good to hear!!
Yeah we saw baby on Monday 11 weeks and al perfect so hoping it's still all good xx

Alicejj8x · 06/08/2018 13:19

Hope everyone is ok

Was gagging again this morning felt nauseous for the first time in a few days but last night was the worst I have ever felt with headach and just a general poorly feeling but I have officially reached 12 weeks Yay! Don't have my 12 week scan till next Monday thou. But had a scan this time last week and everything was perfect so hoping for the best!!

The question I wanted
To ask you ladies was about discharge!

Now I know it's normal to have that white discharge called Leukorrhea but mine seems to be crazy today! Has anyoen else experiences this?

HidCat · 06/08/2018 15:44

@Alicejj8x I get lots of discharge too. I've read it's fine as long as the colour is good and it doesn't smell. I hope the symptoms calm down a bit for you now you've reached 12wks.

Does anyone know much about Flaxseed oil? I'm allergic to fish and I don't eat nuts so I don't get a lot of the Omega oils in my diet. I've been recommended Flaxseed oil as an alternative but there are a lot of scare stories out there. The main risk seems to be premature labour but the positives in my case seem to outweigh the risk. I'm going to check with my midwife about it but even the professionals don't seem to agree so thought I'd ask on here to see if any of you have had a similar dilemma.

On a positive note - I just won a birthing book! Yey.

Alicejj8x · 06/08/2018 16:03

@HidCat
Yeah it doesn't smell just either thick and white or thin and white but doesn't smell at all

Thank you I hope so haven't had any major symptoms so
I'm very lucky so far but today and yday it's like the ones I did have have come
Back lol

Alicejj8x · 06/08/2018 18:23

Quick question..

I am 12 weeks today according to my scan last Monday which bean measured 11 weeks spot on

I was told
To stop folic acid, vit D and metformin at 12 weeks.. now I have my 12 week scan next Monday where I'll be 13 weeks.. do u think coz I'm technically 12 weeks today I should stop them all or wait for my scan next Monday?

SpongeBobGrannyPants · 06/08/2018 19:18

You can take folic acid, vitamin D etc. all the way through your pregnancy. I always have (I take one of the pregnancy multivitamins) and midwives have said it's fine to do so. It's only seen as essential by the NHS in first trimester.

@alicejj8x re: discharge, sadly I'm still having loads at 21 weeks! It's never gone away, it's annoying lol. Some days it's fairly heavy and other days more scant, but always there! I'm so used to it now I hardly notice it now. It's normal though so don't worry 👍

peachesarenom · 06/08/2018 21:40

Why were you on metformin Alicejj8x? If you're diabetic don't stop it till you speak to a consultant.

I'm at mat assess unit due to blurred vision, my notes say go to mat assess immediately if you have it. They tried to fob me off three times! I'm finally here but I'm not very impressed! They asked me 'how worried are you?' i said 'I'm worried as mat notes say get help immediately '

Patienceofatoddler · 06/08/2018 23:41

I've not heard of only taking vitamins in first trimester. Blush

I've always took them all the way through and then continued whilst breastfeeding switching to the breast feeding variety.

Definitely speak to your care provider before stopping anything especially Metformin - I'm guessing if your a type 2 diabetic then your under consultant care so ask them before making any medication changes.

My understanding is Metformin is often prescribed in pregnancy so no reason to worry / suddenly stop before seeking advice.

Patienceofatoddler · 06/08/2018 23:43

Hope alls ol @peachesarenom how many weeks are you now?

Hope your not still at the assessment unit?

Hope alls ok x x

Alicejj8x · 07/08/2018 06:21

@Patienceofatoddler @peachesarenom

Thanks I am
Going
To
Ring up my MW today and just ask again.
I am on metformin
For Pcos not for diabetes :) but I've heard a few ppl
Now saying I can continue it throughout pregnancy again I need to speak to someone as I went to just double check but in all my notes it says metformin to stop at 12 weeks

Patienceofatoddler · 07/08/2018 06:47

Aha I see.

I just knew a little from Diabetes side as diabetes would be high risk in pregnancy and need very careful monitoring.

Definitely ring your midwife today I'm sure they will be able to advise.

Pregnancy really can be just so worrying Hmm we are 17 weeks today and still felt no movement and still no bump I feel like I'm in no mans land haha

Alicejj8x · 07/08/2018 07:21

@Patienceofatoddler
Thank you I shall defo ring :)
It really is worrying isn't

Ahh bless you your wake up one morning and the bump and kicks will start I'm sure of it :)

It's so worrying I was 12 weeks yday have my scan on Monday coming and I just worry some days I feel so normal and feels as if I'm not preg at all!

clairehr · 07/08/2018 12:53

Eek, 12 week scan went well, measuring further ahead than last scans so coming in at 13 weeks. S/he's a real wriggle as well, was turning somersaults in there throughout the whole thing! So in love!!

Alicejj8x · 07/08/2018 14:07

Alicejj8x · 07/08/2018 14:15

Cakelaur · 07/08/2018 14:55

HidCat · 07/08/2018 17:07

@clairehr so glad the scan went well - fabulous pic!

@Alicejj8x I get that whenever I walk too much. Currently sat on the sofa after a busy day walking and I do not want to get up lol.

peachesarenom · 07/08/2018 17:14

I'm still here!!! In the induction sweet I think. Spent most of last night and today listening to women having contractions. I have to stay tonight too, they finally decided I do need an mri. Shitting myself!

Patienceofatoddler · 07/08/2018 17:32

Oh no @peachesarenom were you admitted?

What's the MRI checking for?

Hope alls ok - if it's the ante natal ward I imagine it's really busy and hectic. X

Alicejj8x · 07/08/2018 17:57

@HidCat

peachesarenom · 07/08/2018 18:03
