10 paracetamol in 24 hours?

No I haven’t taken it. I just don’t know how I’m going to cope for the rest of the evening now my temp and chills are back

Use Ibuprofen perhaps? Not as good for temp but better than nothing. Absolutely do not overdose on Paracetamol, it can do a lot of damage without you knowing it.

Can you take ibuprofen. It works really well when combined with paracetamol and is safe to combine for non pregnant adults and kids. Just maybe check with a doctor.

You can’t take ibuprofen if you’re pregnant. Call your midwife as you’ve taken too much paracetamol already and they should be able to advise you regarding the fever. Hope you’re ok!

I think you ought to ring OOH and maybe get checked. Make sure you don't have sepsis.

Yes. You could take more paracetamol once past 24 hours.

You need 12 hours from your last dose if you've taken 8 tablets already.... ie if you took them at 8am, 12pm, 4pm and 8pm, you wouldn't take anymore until 8am. You should really get checked if you've got a fever as that can be dangerous.

Have I taken too many paracetamol already? I’ve only taken two every four hours since last night so altogether 8 in 24 hours. I thought that was okay?

Sepsis? I think I have a bad cold/flu virus. I’m bunged up, my throat is sore and my ears hurt! My DP gave it to me I think. He’s been off work for a few days too.

I can’t leave my bed, let alone get checked at the hospital which is over an hour’s drive away not sure what to do for the best now.

The times I took the paracetamol were:

Last night: 7pm and 11pm
Today: 7:30am and 1:30pm

You can have 1g of paracetamol, which is 2x 500mg tablets, every four hours maximum 4 times.
Where did 8x 250mg come from???

I had a bad case of noro when pregnant at 30 weeks - my temperature was so high they admitted me for obs and fluids. You really do need to be careful, I'd phone 111 and see if you have a local OOH.

@juniperbeer I’ve had two 500mg paracetamol at the times stated above. Max 8 so far since 7pm last night.
