I thought I would start a thread for those of us pregnant post IVF/infertility. There are lots of pregnancy clubs on Mumsnet but it feels like a slightly different experience having got here the hard way!

I've put 12 weeks + because there is another group for women who have just got their BFPs. That is such an anxious time and definitely needs support.

But I thought this group might pick us up a little further along - over the first panic but still learning about the experience.

Not being exclusive tho - if you think this is the group for you, come along in...

So come and join us if you would like to xxx

Thanks Gals. I know it should be fine but then I start reading up (stupidly) on all the terrible reasons why I might be big and start worrying again about the baby.

Xx

Wow @Fox23, 2 weeks and 2 days, just amazing.

@Janefx40, it’s easy to say but try not to worry. I’m not convinced the measurements are all that accurate and there is probably a good reason they don’t measure so early as the margins are so small. You have the extra scan booked in so they will be monitoring you and the baby. Take care - if these babies knew the worry they put us through......

Janefx40 · 17/10/2018 08:19

Thanks @swimchick1980

OMG @Fox23 I can't believe I missed your post about the date!!! 2nd November. It has a nice sound to it for a special birthday!!! So exciting.

Was just looking back at our IVF thread @Fox23 and @Beherenow32 - it's crazy reading about the failures and the fears and then the positive!!!

@Janefx40 that’s so strange to read this back! Feels like it was so long ago! And then soon after you got positive and then not too much later @Beherenow32 joined. Now all three of us are on this rollercoaster, and you are right, it’s as stressful! I suppose we think it will get less stressful when our bundles of joy arrive- well let’s hope so 😉
@Janefx40 you both will be ok 😊 I had similar experience where I had much curvier baby with one if the ultrasonographers than others. True, margin for error is so so real. Even your paperwork will say that margin of error is I think 250g... that’s a lot! But, they will look after you both!
I had flu jab yesterday and not sure if that’s the reason but I just couldn’t sleep! At 4.30 I was in Tesco doing weekly shop! Then got home, put shopping away, got chicken thighs in jerk marinade for DH dinner and then finally at 7.30 I fell asleep with pillow between my legs and slumped across the bed 😁.
My DH said he would be very very surprised if I made it to 2nd Nov as apparently I’m just wayyyy toooo big... thanks DH 🤭
Well, I was promised that unless baby’s head is hanging out of me, there will be no change of plan, and they’ll happily bring c section forward. As long as don’t get to hospital too late. That’s such a reassurance. Now I just keep re-reading signs of early labour! I though I know them , but I’m too petrified to miss them!
Also I have started looking for nurseries... mad

Fox23 · 17/10/2018 10:19

@swimchick1980 yes! Almost there!!!!! 😁😁😁
I know I asked you before but when is your due date?

swimchick1980 · 17/10/2018 10:38

16 November so 2 weeks after you. Eek!

Fox23 · 17/10/2018 11:02

@swimchick1980 wow!!! Exactly 2 weeks apart!!!! How are you feeling? Still sleeping ok? As that’s my main complaint- serious lack of sleep!

Beherenow32 · 17/10/2018 15:19

@Fox23 @Janefx40 aw, so glad we all got there in the end. That was a heartbreaking time!
Just had anomaly scan- and all looking fine!
Can’t believe how close most of you are, until your babies are here x

Janefx40 · 17/10/2018 15:26

@swimchick1980 16th November is soon!! This sh*t is getting real!

@Beherenow32 that is great news. Always such a relief plus it's lovely to see the baby isn't it. Yes we have all come a long way x

Had my first obstetric apt today (as supposed to the mc obstetric clinic). Consultant was nice and will scan me at 20 and 28 weeks and then decide after that. Planning about all my meds for sickness roo. He even did a Doppler and found the hb so that’s great as I know at 14 weeks that can be hard and that will help me cope until next scans i guess.

swimchick1980 · 17/10/2018 16:52

Great news @beanhunter.

Shit is indeed getting real @Janefx40. @Fox23 - I am shattered but otherwise ok. I hear you with the lack of sleep - must be our bodies preparing us for the inevitable!!

Janefx40 · 17/10/2018 17:16

My neighbour, who has 3 kids including a 3 month baby, says you never feel as tired as when you are pregnant even with a new born. Let's hope she's right!!!

Fox23 · 17/10/2018 18:14

@Janefx40 if what you are saying is even remotely accurate then I’m happy woman! Two weeks and I will be able to- Roll over in the bed and- sleep for more than 2h without running to toilet! 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞

Janefx40 · 17/10/2018 18:16

@beanhunter that's great news. Glad you are booked in for lots of scans too xxx

swimchick1980 · 17/10/2018 18:24

@Fox23 - I hear you with the constant toilet requirements!! Coupled with nose bleeds during the night, it’s a treat.

Janefx40 · 17/10/2018 20:11

@swimchick1980 ah the nosebleeds are awful! Mine don't drip out - just congeal in my nostril - lovely - but I get this horrible pain in my sinus when they're happening. Do you get that? X

OP posts:
emalady · 17/10/2018 20:18

So much to look forward to!!! I'm already knackered and I'm so far behind. Already in bed now. Hope you guys manage to sleep a few hours!!

swimchick1980 · 17/10/2018 20:26

Sleep tight @emalady!

@Janefx40 - mine just starts to run out, it doesn’t congeal but isn’t like a proper nose bleed, just like it needs a wee release for a few minutes! The joys!!

Fox23 · 19/10/2018 10:55

Morning ladies, how are we all feeling today?
I had the worst night sleep ever and I’m feeling bigger than ever. Had midwife appointment yesterday and I’m glad she assured me that I’m very likely gonna make it two weeks for my c section. I’m just so concerned that I’m soooo big and feeling like baby will not want to wait that long.
I know there are no promises when it comes to labour timing but I’m glad my midwife didn’t seem concerned.
So today exactly two weeks! 🤭🤭🤭🤭

Aliona19 · 19/10/2018 16:21

Hey all! Found you! OMG, Jane, Swim, beherenow, Liverpool!! Congratulations girls and all others. Feels like not long time ago we were going through some really tough times and look at you all, made it so far. Loads of love to you all. Nearly there 😍😍

cannonball8726 · 19/10/2018 18:33

Hi ladies, could I possibly please join you? I'm 15+1 after ICSI. Counting down until the anomaly scan. It still doesn't feel real. And still feel terrified. Everything seems so precarious given the process we have had to go through to get here. It's weird because I should just be happy (and I'm really happy) but it all feels so fragile still. Any tips for dealing with these feelings?

swimchick1980 · 19/10/2018 19:24

@Aliona19 - hello, so glad you found us. How are you? I often wonder what happened to the others on our previous thread and really hope everyone got their happy ending.

@canonball8726 - welcome! Congratulations. I know those feelings very well. Unhelpfully i don’t really have any particular tips although I have definitely felt that once I could start to feel the baby move it got a bit easier as there was a bit of reassurance. I guess my only tip would be to try and keep busy and try not to worry too much - so easy to say, I know. The most riskybit is over and each day your baby is getting stronger. Do you have a date for your anamoly scan? I found it such a reassuring one. Look after yourself and try to be as positive as you can (in spite of the fear!).

Aliona19 · 19/10/2018 20:26

Hey swimchick 😁 I am ok. Read briefly through the thread, I am having my baby in 2 weeks time, I think someone else here having baby in 2 weeks. Via c section coz of placenta. Was bummed at first about it, but over it now. As long as baby ok. Although another 2 weeks with this heartburn that I am having-I just don’t know how to handle it anymore 😅😅 I don’t know who do u remember from the thread. Dinks had baby, Minster had her baby, Atik had her baby, Dbear had her baby 😁 loads of babies

Aliona19 · 19/10/2018 20:29

cannonball8726 for me it was always hard. U think anomaly scan will help, but only for few days.. then u start feeling movements, but because there is no pattern-every few hours without a kick and you panicking again 🤦🏻‍♀️ It got little better by 32/33 weeks as kicks are pretty regular. But now with 2 weeks left-panicking again, what if something goes wrong 😱😱 so I have no advice for you. Just look after yourself and believe it’s going to be ok 😘

Fox23 · 19/10/2018 21:17

@cannonball8726 I agree with other girls- no matter how reassuring scans are, it’s only comforting for few days. Then stress kicks in again. I’m sorry I couldn’t say something else.., I suppose it’s because we had such a hard journey to get here to begin with.
@Aliona19 I’m having elective c section in exactly two weeks, but it was 100% my choice so I’m very very happy. My little one is having a party at the moment in her one-womb apartment (lol). My belly is literally shifting from left to write, and back and it’s quite painful! Kids- they know how to party 🎈
