Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
BeardofZeus · 13/07/2018 11:35

@slimgin definitely call if you’re worried!! They were really reassuring when I went in at 29+3 even though the little bugger started moving immediately eye roll and said it didn’t matter that that time had been a false alarm, every time was worth a call Smile

SlimGin · 13/07/2018 12:57

Thanks @beardofzeus
I'm strapped up to the machine now and midwife is very happy with the kicks, with my placenta being anterior I just can't really feel them much, but all is well!
Well don't on sleeping through BH, if you manage to sleep through labour I'll be impressed!

SlimGin · 13/07/2018 13:10

*well done
...falling asleep here on hospital bed

lmx0 · 13/07/2018 18:10

Scan went well baby is head as should be just not engaged (anyone know how i can help get it engaged!?!) so obv shes not in a hurry to move out yet
@SlimGin glad all is well 😁
@BeardofZeus and that would be some trick sleeping through labour!!

Hjkillas · 13/07/2018 19:23

36+6 here,
Can't remember the last time I had the duvet in bed! Just something under my ever growing boobs to catch the torrential sweat Envy

I hate going out anywhere because my face goes so red! And where my sunglasses sit on my face gets so sweaty.. I get so many sympathy looks off the old women on the bus!!

lmx0 · 13/07/2018 20:36

@Hjkillas ohh the duvet is deffo not needed in this weather!!

Hjkillas · 13/07/2018 20:40

@lmx0 neither is the 4 year old sleeping like a starfish make me more hot and bothered Hmm (he sneaks into my bed in the night!)

haribosmarties · 13/07/2018 20:43

KTD27 WOW your baby girl is beautiful congratulations!!! Flowers Flowers

LostMyBaubles · 13/07/2018 21:18

Slim glad all is well
Imx0 ahh thats good. I suppose walking/ gravity will help?

Hj ive not had duvet for a while either! Too hot!

lmx0 · 13/07/2018 21:40

@Hjkillas oh no way thats the last thing you need!!
@LostMyBaubles i plan to go walking tomorrow and i might start drinking raspberry leaf tea apparently it can help with an easier labour? Anyone tried it?

SlimGin · 13/07/2018 21:57

Thanks, so glad I went in, and now I'm not anxious about finding the labour suite when it's time! The midwife was lovely she gave me a sandwich and my LO's heartbeat went crazy when I ate it, which I thought was funny because I really love sandwiches and I guess so does she.

@lmx0 glad scan went well, just seen your thread about getting baby engaged, hopefully you'll get some useful answers there. I saw someone post about Raspberry Leaf Tea recently, so that should be floating on this board somewhere?

lmx0 · 13/07/2018 22:31

@SlimGin thank you ive been on my ball this evening and plan to go for a walk tomorrow so hopefully that will help get thing s moving south! Alot of people online have said they found it helped shorten and make their labours easier so couldn't hurt could it? Ohh you were looked after well!! When i was getting scanned little miss decided to fight back so much so the mw wrote on my notes active baby!! 😂

SlimGin · 13/07/2018 22:39

Yep definitely can't harm. I've added exercise ball of my list of things to panic buy at 38 weeks.
Little madam, she obviously doesn't want to be disturbed!

lmx0 · 13/07/2018 22:49

@SlimGin ohh i highly recommend a ball great for when your sore she has always been like that wont kick for anyone apart from me and daddy and when the mws starting poking her she fights back 😂

SK166 · 14/07/2018 06:55

Morning all!

Haven’t properly caught up with everyone but hoping you’re all ok.

Just dropping by to let you know that our baby girl, Teo, arrived safely at 1.14am yesterday and is just perfect. Weighed in at a chunky 9lb2oz and birth didn’t go at all how I’d envisaged but we’re both doing well. In fact, overall it was a pretty positive experience so if anyone does want to hear a positive ‘medicalised’ birth story to help in these last few weeks then I’m happy to share.

Hoping you’re all staying cool and aren’t too achy!

lifechangesforever · 14/07/2018 07:46

Congratulations @SK166 GrinThanks all these little girls are starting to show up after all this waiting around! What a lovely name and weight.

Would love a birth story!

Still nothing here so I'm guessing the sweep did nothing, fingers crossed for Tuesday's! It is my 30th birthday tomorrow though so maybe she's going to let me enjoy it in peace 😅

laurG · 14/07/2018 09:08

Sk166 congratulations!

How’s everyone else? I’m now 6 days past due date. Going mad. Had growthvscsn last week as bump not grown since 36 weeks. But bsbybis thankfully fine with estimated weight of 8lbs. Just want it out!!!! Midwife refused me s sweep last week. Anyone know if I’ll get one 1 at 41 wks?

lifechangesforever · 14/07/2018 09:56

@laurG how come you've been refused a sweep?

I'm 39+3 and had one at 39+1 and having another on Tuesday.

LostMyBaubles · 14/07/2018 10:00

Congrats sk! Would love to hear birth story Flowers

LauraG thats a bit off them refusing!
I had my first sweep at 37+ weeks with youngest as was being induced at 38

Slim aww thats really nice!

Life baby might surprise you

My sides are a little achey today but im guessing thats due to him being transverse.
If i poke at the sides i do get a kick back lol
Getting harder to sleep as hes across so when im on my sides he reacts and starts lol

Imx0 ive never had the raspberry tea myself so can't say

laurG · 14/07/2018 10:23

Lifechangesforever midwife said that it was perfectly natural to go over due and I needed to wait till 41 weeks.

BeardofZeus · 14/07/2018 10:25

Congratulations to you @sk! Amazing name as well Smile and yes all birth stories are very welcome, we need to normalise all kinds of births imo and we only do that by sharing our experiences!

LostMyBaubles · 14/07/2018 10:41

Beard hit the nail on the head!

SlimGin · 14/07/2018 11:11

Congratulations @sk166 ! Yes would love a birth story, I'm pretty naive at the moment I feel.

lmx0 · 14/07/2018 14:01

@SK166 massive congrats!!!! Teo 💖 lovely name always love to hear birth stories as everyone is different (think im only pg lady that says that 😂)
@happy birthday for tomorrow hopefully you get to enjoy it in peace!!

LostMyBaubles · 14/07/2018 14:04
