Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
coastalchick · 11/07/2018 18:54

Thoroughly fed up. 30+2 and had growth scan today. Had funny turn during scan where tops of arms went numb, felt dizzy and sweating. Sonographer thought it was baby pressing on vena cava.

So so tired and hurt self twice tonight as hip keeps sort of moving out of place. Cannot do potentially another 12 weeks of this.

And petrified about the birth. Seeing consultant next week.

lmx0 · 11/07/2018 20:49

@LostMyBaubles thank you and i hope your BH ease up soon
@coastalchick rest up n take it easy hope your appointment goes well next week

SlimGin · 11/07/2018 21:45

Hi All,

Checking in at 29+4, so still got a way to go. So far am relatively comfortable aside from horrendous restless legs and have just noticed a stretch mark on my boob Smile

lmx0 · 11/07/2018 22:46

@SlimGin welcome!! Ohh restless legs im sure aren't nice!!

LostMyBaubles · 11/07/2018 23:19

Cant sleep 😔 Worried about tomorrows consultant appt
Do i ask for section? Early induction?
I dunnooooo
Mind in overdrive

lmx0 · 12/07/2018 00:17

@LostMyBaubles hope it goes well no harm in asking what your options are and their opinions on each you still have plenty of time to make your choice so dont let them pressure you

BrutusMcDogface · 12/07/2018 03:47

Lost- sorry I can't remember- is the appointment due to transverse lie? I think you still have a long time left for baby to shift positions, and you don't need to make a cast iron decision just yet (unless you're 37+ eeeks? Sorry I'm rubbish but I don't think you're that far along?)

Just get the lowdown on all of your options. Hope it goes well!

LostMyBaubles · 12/07/2018 06:27

Thank you
Transverse lie, low placenta. I suffer from big pphs after delivery too and big baby.
Giving birth has never been easy and I envy those that are up straight away as I physically cant move for weeks as ive been that ill.
Had blood transfusions, been readmitted for infections etc so scary stuff.

I will be by myself at the appt too and have scan before it

BrutusMcDogface · 12/07/2018 06:47

Oh bless you. Maybe write down your thoughts/questions before you go in, as there's nothing worse than realising afterwards you've forgotten to ask something. Especially as you'll be on your own.

Incidentally- elective c-section is probably what I would choose in your position Flowers

lmx0 · 12/07/2018 07:12

@LostMyBaubles hopefully this time will be alot better and thats a great idea @BrutusMcDogface write down any questions you have and hopefully looking back over the list will remind you what they said or when you come out write down little notes?

lifechangesforever · 12/07/2018 07:26

Well I was convinced that something was happening last night - I had horrendous back pains but it wasn't a muscular soreness type - IYSWIM. Also having really strong BH's now.

Went to bed and although I've had a rubbish night's sleep (or lack of) everything has disappeared. Back to the bouncing ball and another day of nothingness Hmm

LostMyBaubles · 12/07/2018 11:20

Mum has said she will come with me as I dont feel too well either.
Keep going very dizzy and before it all went black in front of my eyes and felt like I was going to faint. Have been gettimg very out if breath lately too so shes not happy for me to go alone.

Spoke to hubby once again about it and hes reassured me that he will do all he can no matter what I pick and that he thinks elcs is the best way to go as he thinks its safer.
Told him elcs is easier for me as obv im not actively pushing baby out but harder for him for longer as I will need a lot more help longer he said he doesnt care about how much he has to do so will speak to consultant about it.
Bloody feels like my head is spinning

Life
Ohh no!!! Hopefully some bouncing will work

How is everyone?

lmx0 · 12/07/2018 11:59

@lifechangesforever tomorrow is induction isn't it? Im sure you are truly fed up now have you and dh/dp anything nice planned for tonight as last night before baby? But yes getting bouncing (maybe get hold of dh/hp!)
@LostMyBaubles awww thats good your mum going with you!! Maybe worth mention to mw/consultant? You may recover than you think after a section but at least you have the help and support at home

lifechangesforever · 12/07/2018 14:08

@lmx0 nope, no induction for me - I kind of wish it was!! I have my first sweep booked in for Tuesday morning at 39+6.

Just keep telling myself that it's not even due date yet so I have no right to be so impatient about it all, I'm just so big and achy. I've been asked twice this week if I'm having twins 🙈

lifechangesforever · 12/07/2018 14:09

And DH has told me he feels a bit weird about doing the deed 'purely for the purposes of bringing on labour' 😂😂

lmx0 · 12/07/2018 17:19

@lifechangesforever i must have been thinking of one of the other mummies (baby brain!) people think their being funny when they come off with these type of remarks but seriously do you see us laughing?

coastalchick · 12/07/2018 18:48

@lmx0 thank you!

@lifechangesforever hope it happens soon for you

@LostMyBaubles hope you come to a resolution

I now have rather attractive sausage fingers and swollen feet to match my cankles! 30+3 and just seems like it’s never going to end. Cried a lot last night in pain and frustration! Had an external lecture today and baby kept kicking me hard down below and I’m convinced a bit of wee came out twice - had to leave room at one point!

Can’t work out if I think first or third trimester worse. First I felt constantly nauseous and threw up a fair bit but third is also torture!!!!

Have to keep buying baby clothes to get me through

lifechangesforever · 12/07/2018 19:34

Definitely think they're being funny @lmx0 so I do try to be nice and laugh in return - not sure my face always gives the same message though!

Been some updates this afternoon though - went to MAU with reduced movements, all is good and typically, she started kicking as soon as I was on the monitor. Midwife has given me a stretch and sweep though, which was successful and I'm 1cm dilated. She seems to think things could start off now.

I was also offered an induction but decided to turn it down at this point - I'm not clear why it was offered because everything with baby and I were fine and midwife more than happy, think she just wanted to give me the choice but did explain that it would potentially be a more painful labour etc. Hope I made the right decision Blush

lmx0 · 12/07/2018 20:05

@coastalchick baby shopping always makes things better!! (Although its easy to end up with way too much stuff!)

@lifechangesforever ohh hopefully things kick off for you very very soon!!!

@LostMyBaubles howd today go?

lifechangesforever · 13/07/2018 07:44

Well I went to bed and everything just stopped so false alarm! I did have a really good night's sleep though, which I haven't for a while now.

Let's see what today brings - hope I don't regret saying no to the induction too much.

LostMyBaubles · 13/07/2018 09:16

consultant was very nice and straightforward about everything.

Scan shows placenta has moved but he hasnt
Hes still transverse
Have another scan in less than a month
If hes still transverse then they might attempt ecv but depends on scan as its only 50% success rate and if hes bigger than normal less chance

Wrt to birth
Vb is the safest option IF he's in normal position due to my history of bleeds.

Theres more bleeding with section due to incision and less control to stop the reason I bleed (uterus doesnt contract)
They manually massage uterus on the outside to contract it and with a cut this will make me bleed more.

If hes still on 90th centile then they arent too worried. If he goes 95th+ at next scan and hes moved head down then induction at 37/38 weeks depending on scan.

The blackouts - had nuero obs done and they were fine, bp, urine etc all fine. Bloodd taken gonna ring for the results today as might be low hb was borderline in may.

Life hope things kicks off for you before tuesday!

Coastal keep hydrated apparently helps with swelling

Imx0 and everyone else are you all ok?

Sk thinking of you Flowers

lmx0 · 13/07/2018 10:23

@LostMyBaubles sounds like the appointment went well and thats great that your placenta has move up hopefully baby will move round too so section can be avoided
@lifechangesforever at least you have a good nights sleep behind you so you can manage whatever today throws at you a bit better
Im okay today backs quite sore but ill live scan this afternoon to see what this little monkey is doing

LostMyBaubles · 13/07/2018 11:21

Thank you imx0
Good luck with your scan

SlimGin · 13/07/2018 11:24

@lmx0 hope scan goes well!
I'm currently sat getting ready for work but think I'm about to call the reduced movements number. I'm pretty nervous to call though not called before, so just asked for my mums opinion - she's a midwife - but in pretty sure she'll say call.

BeardofZeus · 13/07/2018 11:33

Woke up due to strong BH in the night. Took me a minute or two to realise why I had woken up because the usual bladder alarms were not ringing. Then realised I was too rational with the pressure of the BH that it wasn’t painful, just intense and went back to sleep! Hope the same is possible if real labour starts during sleep - I’m the worst for crankiness with sleep deprivation haha! Also seemingly every toilet visit requires a bowel movement too! I hate the urge to labour spot but when on ML, what else is left Grin
