Hopefully you get the hold of them

TheGrumpySquirrel · 06/08/2018 04:48

My son was born at 2:45am after 12 hours of labour and 3 hours of pushing
It was grim
But I did it all at home with just the tens machine and gas and air
He is perfect 💙

LostMyBaubles · 06/08/2018 15:18

Imx0
Hopefully each day will become a little easier. Its very overwhelming and they dont mention this bit during pregnancy

Squirrel + HJ congrats Flowers
Hope you are all doinf well

Siol how many weeks are you?

Just back from anaesthetic appt.
Being fat won't make it harder for spinal which is good lol

Most likely have baby around the 37-38 week mark via section
Talked a little about bleedimg etc and he was reassuring and said theres lots of things to help

Will have proper birth plan in place by thurs

lmx0 · 06/08/2018 16:44

@Hjkillas massive congrats she is beautiful!! And 💖 her name and 20 mins WOW!!!! How are you doing?
@SiolGhoraidh dont worry it will end!!
@LostMyBaubles deffo the key i think take easy day as it comes or each hour no they dont thats why i think it can be a bit of a shock to some glad the appointment went well no being fat didnt make any difference for me either thankfully im sure you will be glad to have one in place then youll feel a bit more in control too

Hjkillas · 06/08/2018 18:03

I think I was in shock for a good two hours afterwards! I'm ok just struggling with the after pains.. baby has blessed me with two devil poos! Haha bless my chunk ❤️

SlimGin · 06/08/2018 22:17

Congratulations @grumpy so lovely to have been able to be at home! and @Hj congrats on the speediest labour ever and beautiful Hollie.
Hope you're both recovering well.

@lmx0 thank you for your honestly about baby blues and the advice that has followed it. I hope it's starting to ease off and you are coping well and not being too hard on yourself. This is my first baby and I dreadfully anticipate the first 4 weeks, as much as I'm excited to meet her.

Just back from a short stay in Cornwall with DP which was so needed and was really good for us to spend time together before baby arrives. We stayed in a spa hotel and I got a prenatal massage which has made me feel like I've gone back in time to 20 weeks preg Grin I'm sure the back pain etc will be back but am just enjoying feeling 'normal' for now. Will definitely be booking a post natal massage if I ever get time after.
Hope everyone's comfortable!

lmx0 · 06/08/2018 22:55

@SlimGin glad you had a lovely time away and the massage sounds wonderful!!! Hopefully you wont get the baby blues and if you do they wont be too bad i think they are easing now thankfully I havnt cried today!! Yay its the small victories at this point!!!

SlimGin · 06/08/2018 23:14

Thanks, it was just good to get away and 'forget' that I'm pregnant for a day as weird as that sounds. We even played tennis on the beach which was difficult!!
Glad you're feeling better and yes the small victories are very very important. As you and Lost said its crucial to take it hour by hour/day by day, which is some advice I'll definitely be taking.

SiolGhoraidh · 07/08/2018 15:46

@Lost 35 weeks. Good news about the spinal for a section. That must be a strange feeling knowing your baby will be there on x date.

I'm waiting to see the consultant but as the pregnancy has been super normal I'm expecting they'll recommend a vaginal delivery so it'll come in its own time.

LostMyBaubles · 07/08/2018 17:09

Definitely lower expectations
Theres no rush to get back to normal as thr old normal is going to be diff to new normal so try not to worry too much

Imx0 small steps are the best

Slim the massage is something I could defo do with. Might give hubby some hints lol

Siol im 35+5 today and see consultant on thurs for a date hopefully. The past 2 weeks have been truly horrible. Having a date will hopefully help me feel a little better

lmx0 · 08/08/2018 10:14

@SlimGin try and get a little bit if time each day just you even just getting a shower and work magic!!

LostMyBaubles · 08/08/2018 10:55

Imx0 how are you feeling?
How's lil one?

Im back at hosp tomorrow to be scanned, consultant and given a date

The Dr that discharged me said baby should be out 37weeks. Lets see if they agree tomorrow

lmx0 · 08/08/2018 11:44

@LostMyBaubles im not too bad thanks having chilled day today and no visitors yay!!! Which will do us all the world of good!! Lil one is good feeding well and sleeps mostly so cant complain hopefully tomorrow goes well for you and you get your date

LostMyBaubles · 09/08/2018 16:16

Thank you
I loved having a few visitors as a distraction lol

Just had scan and hes head down 😁
Goimg to ask them to do something to stop him moving back

lmx0 · 09/08/2018 17:28
