Haha good investment! I love new makeup! Glad you're feeling better. A good walk with good company usually helps.
I think I'm starting to understand why pregnant women say they're never comfortable.
I've travelled 4+hrs on the train today and usually I can nap but I'm changing positions every 2 mins as my back is killing! Plus baby is in my rib area so can only sit upright. Almost home now though

lmx0 · 20/07/2018 22:34

@SlimGin 4hours?! Poor u that would be a nightmare youll be glad to see your bed tonight

TheGrumpySquirrel · 21/07/2018 03:38

My hips are excruciating if I lie on same side for more than an hour. So I wake up every hour to switch sides. Just had 2.5 stint of sleep as so tired the pain didn't wake me up at first. Paid for that, didn't I Sad

lmx0 · 21/07/2018 04:42

Awwww @TheGrumpySquirrel im sure you are knackered do you have a pregnancy pillow or pillows to prop yourself on? Ive been finding lately if i sleep on my left side my knee kills me but its so hard to sleep on the same side all the blooming time isnt it?!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 21/07/2018 05:09

Yeah I have all the pillows. They only help slightly. Feel like a huge cow trying to turn over Confused
Now trying sleeping sitting up as an desperate

Try a pillow between your knees which should help your knee thing

lmx0 · 21/07/2018 11:01

@TheGrumpySquirrel ill give that a go thanks oh goodness the rolling over in bed is horrendous!! I have to mentally prep myself before i even begin to try 😂

@BeardofZeus how are things? Having newborn cuddles i hope!

Yarnswift · 21/07/2018 20:16

May I have a moan?

I’m 35 weeks.
I’ve had HG throughout. Only spewing a couple of times a day though down from 50 at my peak.
I have SPD so badly I can barely walk. Have crutches. Still almost housebound.
Feeling immensely guilty I can’t run around with toddler.
I feel dizzy when I stand up
Its been 3 months of 30+c temperatures in fucking Sweden. Yes Sweden. Not the fucking Sahara although it’s been as dry. I am so hot and pissed off and grumpy. No end to said heatwave in sight. 34c forecast for next week.

And now my gallbladder is doing something unpleasant and very painful.

Rant over. I may have a cry now.

BeardofZeus · 21/07/2018 20:54

@lmx you are quite right!!! Alexandra Edie was born 1951 on 19/7 and she is just the most beautiful thing #Biased

So labour and delivery in a nutshell...
0445 waters break
1000 hospital appt to confirm
1030 first contraction
1130 contractions 5 minutes apart
1330 contractions 3 minutes apart
1400 admitted to midwife ledunit at 4cm
1430-1700 in the birthing pool with g&a - very painful contractions and cramps in between so very little respite from the pain
1710 - assessed at 6cm before getting a pethedin shot
1710-approx 1910 - DH informs me that i managed to snooze/relax in between contractions but that those contractions were still very painful for me (i was very unaware of time passing/conversation at this stage)
1910ish - i realise i am feeling the urge to push but am lying on my side so midwife ans DH guide me to my knees leaning over the back of the bed
1950 - baby is born!

So had labial tears which required stitching but other than the local a, they havent really bothered me much!

First post prtum poo was a hilarious brain fart in my body as it tried to work out why I wanted a second child so soon Grin

Developing her root, latch and suck instincts has been hit and miss - but really starting to see progress and my milk is coming in so hopefully all positive signs at this point.

Had the grandparents over today and have visitors booked in for the next few weeks, but everyone is being lovely and I feel very relaxed although tired!

All in all, the most painful experience of my life but my daughter is amazing so I’m chuffed!

SlimGin · 21/07/2018 22:24

Oh my goodness @beard congratulations!! I'm sure didn't feel like it at the time but sounds like a good efficient labour! Glad breastfeeding is progressing, sounds like it's all going in the right direction. Enjoy all the lovely time with family, friends, and lots of baby cuddles

@yarn I'm so sorry you're having a tough time! I hope someone's looking after you. You're 7/8ths of the way there this is the last leg although I'm sure feels like the longest. I can totally sympathise with the heatwave as England is having similar although only 1 month so far and not 30 every day. Keep coo -feet in ice water job - are you working?

lmx0 · 21/07/2018 22:47

@Yarnswift moan away!! Sounds like your having a really tough time of it and im sure the heat is only making it worse!! Hope thing ease up a little for you soon!!

@BeardofZeus massive congrats!! Love the name!! And sounds like a really good labour glad things didnt drag out for you and thank you for sharing 😊 glad your tears aren't causing you too much pain and breastfeeding is progressing

SlimGin · 23/07/2018 10:57

Just went to 31w midwife appointment and baby's heartbeat is too high, so going into day assessment unit now. Not sure what this means?

Yarnswift · 23/07/2018 11:09

What was counted as too high if you don’t mind me asking? Mine has been high for a while and I’m a bit worried

lmx0 · 23/07/2018 11:23

@SlimGin goodness hope everything is okay! Let us know how you get on

SlimGin · 23/07/2018 12:05

Her heartrate was 181bpm at the doctors and did sound very quick but as soon as I got monitored at the hospital it sounded normal - my partner says bpm was 160/165, I couldn't see the machine . Midwife at day assessment unit said not to worry baby was probably having a wriggle when I was at the doctors and was bad timing!

Yarnswift · 23/07/2018 12:08

I’m glad you’re ok! Do take it as easy as you can in this heat - stay hydrated.

lmx0 · 23/07/2018 13:34

@SlimGin thats good too hear!! And prob what happened she was having a little party and mw listened in at the wrong time

Had my last mw app this morning all good no sweep ill just have to wait until Friday babys head is still bopping about free for now how is everyone?

Baby had been quite for a day or 2. Moving but less than normal. Today all is well with baby thankfully hes moving normally

Im suffering lol my body is aching a lot
Generally feel like ive got the flu but havent if that makes sense just very achey

I did get a letter to say im anaemic but gp hasnt prescribed anything yet. Might be that causing the pain and fatigue etc

lmx0 · 23/07/2018 14:06

@LostMyBaubles since im not overdue yet but i dont mind glad all is okay today with baby i think sometimes they have a little quite day (but always get checked out) they should give you iron tabs keep checking incase they havnt got round to issuing them yet

LostMyBaubles · 23/07/2018 14:20

Ive been to pharmacy nothing has come through yet.

I know should get checked out but with 3 other dc inc 1 disabled its hard to get checked at times if no onr suitable is around to do eldest cares.

Ahh hope baby engages soon for you!

Keep thinking im missing something for when baby arrives.
Carseat
Cot
Mosesbasket
Sheets
Clothes etc
Nappies
Wipes
Bath stuff (just picked up sponges today)
Blankets
Muslin squares
Thermometer

I need a chair once hes a lil older like bouncer type

Have I missed anything?

I think I might need baby powder

chipsandcurrysaucemonster · 23/07/2018 14:46

Hey all... I will be weeks on Saturday so really squashing down the impatient thoughts! Bags all packed and I'm really starting to get uncomfortable in the night. Hips and outer thigh area feel like I've been kicked by a horse by about midnight laying in bed and no amount of pillows and arranging seems to help... these achy legs have been the worst part of pregnancy for me so far! I don't feel like bump / baby has dropped but MW said head was 3/5th engaged as of last week... will I definitely 'drop'?! Desperately looking for any signs Labour is imminent. Hope you're all coping in the heat and that the waiting game isn't killing you all!

chipsandcurrysaucemonster · 23/07/2018 17:26

40 weeks on Saturday!

lmx0 · 23/07/2018 21:18

@LostMyBaubles it can be really hard when youve other little ones to think about and you know your own body i find if im tired i dont notice movements as much but they are there though are you planning on breast feeding? List looks good just need stuff for yourself
@chipsandcurrysaucemonster we are in the same boat im due thurs everyone keeps telling me ive dropped but babys not engaged just yet

SlimGin · 23/07/2018 21:58

Thanks all :) Having a fairly emotional day today I think a mix of being really sick of work now, DP being grumpy, and concerns over the baby this morning. I also have an impending driving test coming up which is playing on my mind as I only have a few weeks left to pass before baby arrives! I just really don't want to cry in front of the examiner/instructor if I fail but I can't keep the tears in me at the moment.

@Lost that sounds good but I am doubting myself too. Do you need a monitor? Nappy cream? Also don't forget things for yourself e.g. nipple pads/cream big pants etc.

lmx0 · 23/07/2018 22:49

@SlimGin awwww big hugs hopefully tomorrow will be a better day for you!!! We all get weepy days now and again
Anything you forget or feel you need after baby is born you can always ask people to pick up for you or order online amazon is normally really good for delivery

LostMyBaubles · 24/07/2018 10:50

Chips baby might not engage until D Day!
And yup achey legs Sad

Imx0 yep im planning om breastfeedimg
Never successfully done it with the other 3 but eldest was very poorly, I was poorly with middle and with youngest just didn't have the time as I was in hosp a lot with eldest.

Ive got breast pads
Pads
Big undies
Need to pick up nipple cream and peppermint juice if its a section

I will prob pick up a nappy change mat when im out next and baby needs socks.

Ive seen a lovely thin nightie in george so might treat myself to that will see lol

Slim I passed my test a few weeks before I was due. The instructor didnt think I could pass and I only had 1 shot as there were no more appts left before due date.
This was 4yrs ago! I only just fit behind the wheel lol.
He asked me how do you know if brake lights are working i said mate get out of the car I will press brakes and you tell me lol
He was a bit Hmm but I was right lol

How is everyone doing
