I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.
There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.
MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk
If you need help in obtaining medication, phone them on:
024 7638 2020
Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy
I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.
Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.
So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

forever the chances are ver very high that all will be ok. I couldnt take anything and worried too, but the statistics are on your side.

Foreverblues · 15/10/2018 17:58

Thanks silver and seaeagle. Yes, could probably try something smaller. My vit d was very low before I even got pregnant too. My son had tongue tie and hypospadias and someone told me research suggested it was because of folic acid intake in pregnancy, which I took the dose of last time. so I guess we are all just doing our best! x

beanhunter · 15/10/2018 18:11

Managed a half day at work today. Feel quite proud of myself.

eallison88 · 15/10/2018 18:15

Vits: try not to worry. I managed little of anything was supposed to do last time, and had a healthy 9lber (who's now 3 and perfect).

GP took one look at me, tested my urine (3+) and has packed me off to the early pregnancy unit. I genuinely thought I wasn't as bad this time.

LucindaE · 15/10/2018 18:31

eallison Poor you, s/he sounds like a good doctor. I hope the fluids help.
silverspoon That's traumatic. Those exercises, combined with wearing a pessary, really helped me to reverse completely a prolapse. The first doctor said that I must be an hysterectomy, but the dr who gave a second opinion suggested seeing if the exercise regime worked. I got it through stupidity, jumping up and down on an unspring floor (never do that, anyone!) I only had to wear the pessary for a month and do the exercises as much as I could, and it reversed. The exercises these days are brilliant. They weren't so good years ago. All luck with that. What a horrible time you are having. Hugs.
beanhunter Mother Hen flaps and clucks and says 'Don't overdo it' . Are you eating OK again? You will be weakened a lot by the weeks of sickness.
foreverblues You've had great advice. One does worry, but as
silversplodge said, babies were born for millenia before these vitmans were prescribed as a must. As others say, we can only do our best.
Mamabear I am sorry to hear that. That's awful for you. What other meds do you have to hand?
Waves to all. Apologies to anyone rudely overlooked.

Ffs. All they want to do is give me an injection of cyclizine. They are simply not listening. I'm already taking cyclizine and ondansetron. It's not working. At this stage the issue is dehydration - but according yo them I'm not too dehydrated. I would actually be better off at home; a toilet that I don't have to walk thru a full ward to get to, telly to distract me and my own damned bed. This is hust ridiculous. If they're not going to put me on a drip I'm going to discharge myself. There is literally no other reason for me to be here.

LucindaE · 15/10/2018 20:01

eallison Oh dear, I am sorry to hear that.

8DaysAWeek · 15/10/2018 20:01

ealisson that's terrible. What's the point? You're right, you may as well be in your home. You don't seem to be getting any different care in there. Don't they care about the ketones??

eallison88 · 15/10/2018 20:15

They reckon my ketones are only 2+ (GP measured them at 3+ from the same sample, but apparently they have a more accurate machine here at the hospital. I want to know if they are going to give me a drip. If not I will go home.

LucindaE · 15/10/2018 21:46

eallison That is maddening. The doctor wouldn't have sent you along unless s/he hadn't thought you were very ill.
8DaysAweek I so agree.
The thread is running out of space. There's never a good time for it to do that. Sorry, everyone, but could everyone stagger over to this new one.
