I've lost count of what number we were on, sorry.

Also there seems to be another BFP after MC thread running, but it has all different people on it so I didn't know if we should crash theirs or just have two running at once...

@BertieBotts congratulations. I hope you can all be together soon.

Sorry I havent been updating much. Whilst my blood pressure is now/ being stabilised, my bloodwork taken yesterday has shown that I'm starting to produce something (can't remember the name but could mean my kidneys are starting to suffer). Looks like she's going to come out a bit early but hoping my body can hold off for as long as it can.

They booked us in for a growth scan and whilst she's still dinky, she's absolutely fine and oblivious to everything. Placenta is still playing ball atm; just me that's starting to fall to pieces, but I'd rather that ofc.

Paranormalbouquet · 20/08/2018 18:08

Congratulations Bertie! I’m sorry to hear you had a hard time and that baby is needing some help now. And so sorry you are separated, I really hope you can be with him very soon.

Paranormalbouquet · 20/08/2018 18:10

Unicorn how far along are you now again? Glad the blood pressure has improved and sounds as though you are in good hands.

UnicornsandRainbows1 · 20/08/2018 18:22

@Paranormalbouquet 32 weeks on Wednesday. I have a feeling I'm staying put or I won't be free from here for very long tbh. But she has an estimated weight of 3.9lbs atm is that the way you write it? which isn't too bad (not entirely sure how it all works)

Paranormalbouquet · 20/08/2018 18:32

At 32 weeks she should do very well if she does come early so do remember that. I’m quite likely not to make it to term (incompetent cervix, stitch, elevated uterine artery resistance and placenta praevia!) so I’ve been well counselled on outcomes at different gestation and my takeaway message seems to be after 28 weeks babies do well, after 32 weeks even better. Glad they are keeping a close eye so if balance changes in favour of delivery they’ll do it. Sorry you are having this stress now though.

Labmum · 20/08/2018 20:48

Congratulations @Bertie, I'm so sorry he's not with you, stay strong lovely. At least the lack of pain relief should mean you get discharged sooner and can be with him.

@unicorn is it HELLP syndrome they're worried about with the renal markers? It's great they're keeping a close eye on you. Have they given you steroids for baby's lungs just in case?

HidCat · 20/08/2018 21:00

@BertieBotts congratulations. I hope you get to go to him soon xxx

@UnicornsandRainbows1 I hope all goes well and little one stays put as long as possible. It's good that you're being monitored closely.

UnicornsandRainbows1 · 20/08/2018 21:35

@Labmum I'm not even sure what HELLP is 🙈 Yeah they've started steroids this morning which I didn't know went in your buttcheck! That was a fun surprise

Labmum · 20/08/2018 21:52

@unicorn ouch, that sounds painful!
I don't know much about it, just that my friend had it. I think it's a subtype of pre-eclampsia. They're watching you like a hawk though so try not to worry. Sorry you're having all this stress, but it'll be so worth it when you have your little bundle in your arms!

mummyjl15 · 21/08/2018 00:06

Hey everyone! I’m so rubbish on here lately so sorry for dipping in and out. Hello to all the newbies, lots of happy news in here with BFPs and scan results 💙
I’m 23 weeks now and in the last week I’ve suddendly got a massive (and heavy!!) bump! Didn’t have this until 30+ weeks with my daughter but I know your body goes into hyper mode for future pregnancies.
Thank goodness it’s cooler now!

Miami81 · 21/08/2018 09:05

Hi all.
I am loitering as I am currently pregnant but totally not ready to really be in here yet.
But @UnicornsandRainbows1 I just wanted to say that my niece was born at 32+3 due to pre-eclampsia and she thrived from the moment she was born. She was a tiny weeny 3 lbs. but she is now 9 yrs old and a complete nutter. She only had to be ventilated once in the 7 wks she spent in hospital. They had known for a week that she would be coming early and were able to get the steroids into her. Also the consultant told my sister that pre-eclampsia babies normally do really well as their brains and lungs have been compensating for adverse conditions in the womb already so in development terms they are a little ahead.
Best of luck.
Congratulation @BertieBotts I hope you are all together again now.

voxnihili · 21/08/2018 10:09

Hi

I haven’t posted much but recognise some of the names on here. I think my last post was after discovering I had a heart condition at 28 weeks.

The rest of my pregnancy was heavily monitored and my beautiful baby girl was born last week at 39+6.

The labour was tough - pain management was key to keeping my heart well, but baby decided to turn back to back during early labour and the first epidural failed, meaning it had to be removed and re-sites very late on which was tricky. I was quite scared as well as I was wired up to a lot of machines (one which had been borrowed from intensive care).

All was well though and we went home 3 days later. I’m so in love with her and can honestly say that my heart is healing.

HidCat · 21/08/2018 10:33

@voxnihili congratulations! I'm so glad all turned out ok for you, labour can be scary at the best of times but it sounds like handled it well.

Vuduvu · 21/08/2018 10:46

@voxnihili congratulations!

@unicornsandrainbows1 if it is HELLP syndrome (not sure if that is the case as think it means there is a problem with liver blood tests as well?) I know someone who had that and had her little boy delivered at 34 weeks because of it - both were absolutely fine x

UnicornsandRainbows1 · 21/08/2018 11:41

So we're doing more bloods today. The ones that were taken yesterday has shown a slight abnormality with the kidney function or something Hmm Things can never go smoothly hey

mummyjl15 · 21/08/2018 14:04

Congratulations @voxnihili ! Hope you’re both doing well :)

@UnicornsandRainbows1 hope the bloods show better results for you today

AnneLovesGilbert · 21/08/2018 20:56

Oh bertie congratulations on the birth of your son! How scary but I’m sure he’s in the best hands and hope you have him back in your arms very very soon. I bet his brother’s desperate to meet him too! Look after yourself x

BertieBotts · 21/08/2018 21:47

Happily he got moved to a normal ward this morning which means I can stay. Yay! I am sharing with a nice lady who explains everything that I miss from the bossy nurses. He's on antibiotics and monitoring, his breathing is loads better and he's not having any oxygen any more but still having some issues regulating his body temperature, so we have to wait for the results of the culture but also to see how he does over the next few days.

Labmum · 21/08/2018 22:00

@BertieBotts so glad you're reunited with him. My DS had issues with temp regulation at first too and was on antibiotics whilst waiting for blood cultures. His little arm looked so massive with his cannula and splint (cover them with a sock is my best tip so he can't catch it on anything)! It turned out to be a massive help in the feeding department though and gave us plenty of time to get breastfeeding established while there were midwives and peer supporters around to help. Enjoy all those lovely newborn snuggles and milk drunk faces!

Eastend2015 · 21/08/2018 23:20

Congratulations @bertiebotts I’m sure he’ll go from strength to strength xxx

HidCat · 22/08/2018 07:22

@BertieBotts that's great news. I'm sure you'll be home in no time.

Paranormalbouquet · 22/08/2018 07:27

Fantastic news Bertie! Hope you’ll all get home very soon. DD and I spent a week on the postnatal wards on antibiotics and while I hated being in hospital as Labmum said we did get a lot of help with breastfeeding which was good.

Lots of babies recently!

HidCat · 22/08/2018 10:02

I'm feeling so sick today. I've been sick every day for about the last 10 days and this morning I'm feeling worse than I've been for a while. I think it's anxiety as much as morning sickness as tomorrow I reach 11 weeks, which is the exact point I started bleeding last time. I've been pretty positive up to now but I can I can feel the fear growing. Any advice on how to push through it?

NoCatsHere · 22/08/2018 10:25

eastend welcome, we can definitely do hand holding!

colbalt yay lovely pic!

keepon so so happy for you. rowan is such a lovely name. I had an emcs with my first and my recovery was very sore for the first 3 days or so and then suddenly i felt so much better. please take the pain killers though even if you feel ok, i HATE taking medicine, but in this case it was important. I had no trouble with my scar and i can barely see the thing now. enjoy the crazy newborn bubble! x

vuduvu congrats on being at 9 weeks. i'm sure two days isn't anything to worry about, a week and a half behind dates seems a lot more to me.

anxious and para i too have an anterior placenta but now at 27 weeks i can feel very definite kicks and squirming. its starting to form a more regular pattern too!

unicorn sorry to hear you're stuck in hospital and your kidneys are messing you about. 32 weeks seems good to me, so hopefully she can stay in a little longer.

bertie my second ds was taken away from me and cooled for 3 days in special care (due to lack of oxygen at birth), it was so tough not being with him and not being able to hold him for three days....however all was well when we got released from hospital 10 days later and i even managed to bf him too, it hasn't affected him or our relationship in any way. So glad you are reunited with him. Sending much love to you.

vox congrats on your baby girl, happy you are home and all ok.

hidcat no advice i'm afraid but all sounds normal to me. those milestones are the worst. all i hope is that tomorrow comes and passes quickly as possible for you and you can mark it off and move on.

NoCatsHere · 22/08/2018 10:28

Ok so think i've caught up on everyones news. I'm 27 weeks today which feels so great and looking into more fun things like tiny cloth nappies! I am feeling very heavy down there though which feels too early for 27 weeks, i'm worried i'm going to start an early waddle! Still debating whether i go for vbac or elcs this time, its such a hard decision - i wish someone could make it for me! Although at least i have plenty of time to mull it all over a bit more.
