Spoken to the midwife and she says unfortunately there is nothing I can do other than wait but ring surgery immediately if any change etc. Aaargh, if only there was some sort of quick solution!

Cakelaur · 08/06/2018 11:20

@Athers666 and @MagicalCreatures have you considered a Doppler? That was a massive reassurance for me. I didn't use it until bang on 12 weeks. Also it's less than you think girls. Once you've seen a heartbeat at 12 weeks it's down to 1.5%!!

datayze.com/miscarriage-reassurer.php

Try the link for your own dates. It's massively helped me.

Also @Athers666 I had the same. Spotting (Although mine was red) after straining to poop. I also had been violently sick just before too! (Sorry tmi) and lots of ladies say they spot when constipated.

Sending hugs

@Cakelaur Ooh that's good to know that it's down to 1.5. I came up as 12 +4 on the scan I think. You poor thing, throwing up, spotting, painful pooping! Gotta love being a woman hey?! So glad we can talk on here about the gross stuff though😂 I just managed to poop, I tried drinking prune juice as someone upthread suggested, seems to have helped, I was careful not to erm, push and just let it go...sorry I know that's gross.

Wellthisunexpected · 08/06/2018 11:40

Athers66 I really hope it's good news for you. You waiting is agony isn't it.

Athers666 · 08/06/2018 13:22

@wellthisunexpected aww thank you so much. And to you as well. Whoever thought all this would be so gut wrenching and hard!

peachesarenom · 08/06/2018 13:42

Lovely pic SpongeBobGrannyPants

Cakelaur prune juice really is a miracle! I can't get a doppler, I'd be obsessed!

Athers666 · 08/06/2018 14:04

Lol I agree about Prune juice. Like drinking liquid raisins 😂 I haven't had anymore spotting yet today...hoping and praying that that's a good sign and maybe Bean is still alright in there.

MagicalCreatures · 08/06/2018 15:16

@Cakelaur I do have a Doppler and I just used it and found baby’s heartbeat so that’s eased my anxiety a little bit. What do I do about scan on Monday girls? Do I cancel it and wait til Thursday?
Also, someone mentioned apple juice for constipation. I drunk half a carton yesterday and it really worked.

Oh and for anyone like me, sitting at home in their butt, I’ve just watched the entire series of Big Little Lies. Oh my god!!! Amazing x

Cakelaur · 08/06/2018 15:40

@MagicalCreatures I LOVE big little lies!!! I did that when I was home with my MC. I would go on Monday. Then you get two! But that's just me.

@Athers666 I'm so glad it's stopped babe. I reckon it could have been a mixture of pushing and the scan. I thought I'd be obsessed with the Doppler, but actually I'm really not. I've had it about a week and I've used it twice. But I've not got the urge to use it again. Once was on my own when I first got it and once was with my other half! Haha

To those with dopplers just be very careful.

It's very easy to hear the placenta and think you found babies heartbeat.

Midwives don't recommend them as frankly they give false hope and stop woman seeking help when they should as they are falsely put at ease.

Equally woman get worried when they can't find it and seek help when there's nothing wrong.

They cause a lot of stress in the medical profession.

It's so hard when your to early to feel anything but try trust your body and when you feel movements concentrate on your babies normal movements / routine and counting the kicks.

I'm sorry if I sound negative just be so careful.

Athers666 · 08/06/2018 17:16

Me again, just worrying myself as per, but, my local EPAU closes at 1pm, so, if I have anything happen overnight, say, and went to the hospital, would that mean they can't help me as I'm only 12 weeks? I really don't understand how it all works! I haven't got any more spotting yet have some yellowish discharge and I'm just driving myself nuts with worry and fear.

craftymum01 · 08/06/2018 18:03

@Athers666 because you are 12 weeks they would do a load of blood tests then if they came back fine would send you home to wait for a scan. With it being Friday it would probably be Monday now. That's what they did for me when I was bleeding at 14 weeks and again at 15 weeks. I suppose it might depend on your hospital though. Mine seem to see scans as the last thing to check though I was dying to be scanned again when I started bleeding.

It sounds really hopeful that you are only spotting and it's now stopped. I was (TMI) pouring with bright red blood.

Athers666 · 08/06/2018 18:15

Thanks @craftymum01. Did they find the cause of the blood you had?

craftymum01 · 08/06/2018 18:21

Yes @Athers666 it was a placenta bleed. Apparently quite common and usually sort themselves out.

Athers666 · 08/06/2018 18:26

Ah right. Gosh, there are just so many things that could happen aren't there?!

craftymum01 · 08/06/2018 18:39

I know, and they tell us to not stress!!

SpongeBobGrannyPants · 08/06/2018 19:10

Glad the apple juice worked @MagicalCreatures!

TMI alert but I've had loads of mucus come away today. I've had it a few times this pregnancy but wonder if it's increased today because of all the bashing around at the scan yesterday. I'm pretty sure it's bits of the mucus plug (from what I remember of it from Labour!) and I think it replenishes itself throughout pregnancy but I've never had this quite so much and quite so early in any other pregnancy. Wonder if it's because it's my fourth pregnancy things aren't as tight around the cervix and maybe that's why more is coming away. Anyone else any experience of this?

Athers666 · 08/06/2018 20:15

@craftymum01 Oh yeah, haha, as if we're ever going to able to not stress!

Wiggle4 · 08/06/2018 22:13

It really is all so stressful! So feel for each of you with spotting and pains and lighter lines! But we've all been there and it's such a supportive group!

Are any of you ladies runners by any chance? I've slowed down a lot and decreased my distance but today I was only on the treadmill for a few mins before I got almost constant cramps in my very low abdomen. They stopped when I stopped and there's no discharge or bleeding but now I'm stressed I may have caused an issue!

Cakelaur · 09/06/2018 07:38

@Wiggle4 I'm not a runner. But I spoke to my dr about exercise. They said do what you feel comfortable doing. So if you're used to running 6 miles a day keep doing that. Until you feel you can't, then cut down as you see fit. as far as I'm aware you can't hurt the baby. They advise not over doing it. So maybe if you're getting cramps decrease speed or incline maybe? I wanted to start exercising (maybe rowing or cross trainer) and they advised against something so high intensity as my body wasn't used to it. So I'm gonna start yoga or Pilates.

OP posts:
Wiggle4 · 09/06/2018 11:21

Thanks @Cakelaur. Yeah I was paranoid about it but consultant was adamant that it was good for the baby if I was used to it which I was pleased about as it helps me to stay sane! Then this morning even walking the dog it happened again so I called the 24hr midwife and she said not to worry but to rest for a couple of days and maybe switch to lower intensity exercise now. I'm gonna give yoga and Pilates a go too!

xLeanne128 · 09/06/2018 11:25

Wooo made it to 12 weeks! Just the dreaded wait now until Thursday for my scan. I've had 2 early scans and I'm still petrified the baby doesn't exist or something will be wrong. I'm sure once scan is out of the way I'll find something else to worry about 🙈

kaytees · 09/06/2018 12:26

Ahh @Wiggle4 it's so hard if you're used to doing a lot of exercise! I'm not a runner as such but I was doing a fair amount of running in the gym ... tried on Friday and failed miserably. Had also been doing yoga 4 times a week and have had to cut that down as I'm so knackered. Those cramps and twinges are so scary though - every time I get one in a class I panic but try to remind myself it's just body gearing up for all the stretching it's going to do!

@Cakelaur I loved pregnancy yoga with my first. I wasn't doing much exercise prior to him so was advised not to start anything like cross trainer too. I made some wonderful friends in my preg yoga class, and will definitely be finding another class this time (once my scan is over on weds and I can stop panicking that something is wrong because I'm not vomiting any more 🙄)

Wiggle4 · 09/06/2018 13:52

Congratulations @xLeanne128! I'm sure your scan will be fine!

@kaytees it's so hard, exercise has always been the only way I can keep my head so I'm hoping yoga and Pilates will replace some of that but it's just not the same. I knew I would have to stop at some point I had just hoped it wouldn't be so early! I did Body Balance last week which I really enjoyed and the teacher said she can adapt moves for pregnancy as I go through which is nice

Wiggle4 · 09/06/2018 13:53

Also @kaytees good luck on Wednesday but I'm sure all will be fine! I never had vomiting but I did have nausea but it pretty much stopped at 11 weeks apart from the odd day now and that's mainly when I'm hungry! X
