Just done another test and it’s no darker than the one I did 2 days ago. Not sure how many DPO I am but symptoms have gone too and have low abdominal cramping.

It’s taken us 2.5 years to fall pregnant again after last M/C and looks like it’s happening all over again Sad

This baby is so wanted. Feeling very sorry for myself.

If my first test was 9dpo then yesterday’s scan would’ve only been 2/3 days out. She wasn’t that precise with how many weeks and days the little one was, she said ‘you’re just over 7 weeks.’ Must’ve known that by my last period I should’ve been 8 + 6 weeks and she kept saying ‘does that sound about right to you?’ So explained that I Ov’d at least a week later than usual but now of course I’m doubting myself!

In fact, not even 2/3 days early, just 1/2 so pretty much bang on. I was a day out with DD and I was absolutely certain of my dates then!

LMP is irrelevant if you know that you ovulated later - and getting weak +ves when you did backs that up.

I had loads of bleeding with both of my pregnancies including at 25 weeks with dd2, that scared the living daylights out of me. But I always had scans as per expected by the time I thought. And I never miscarried. The bleeding was all colours - brown, red, pink, prune juice. I have cervical erosion/ entropin or whatever they call it - I've only ever had symptoms when pregnant though.....

Iswallowtoothpaste · 26/05/2018 20:54

@Teateaandmoretea yes that’s my understanding too.

Posted too soon!

Yes I’ve bled varying amounts in all of my pregnancies. Twice it ended badly. And similarly, no symptoms of cervical ectropion unless pregnant. I can honestly say that I’ve never bled between a period, sex has never aggravated it but pregnancy seems to set it off. I was told that this was because of the increased blood flow to the cervix during early pregnancy (and throughout)

I've never bled after sex either or have bleeding in between it is just pregnancy (actuality with age I have spotted a couple of times around ovulation but not when I was baby production age). Very very bizarre. I only ever had 2 pregnancies for my 2 dc so there was no link for me with mc. Interestingly I remember someone saying on here the only time she didn't bleed was when she miscarried Confused I guess the hormones weren't as high? It's really stressful when you are going through it though.

Iswallowtoothpaste · 26/05/2018 21:43

It’s so bizarre how our bodies work! I never realised how ‘normal’ bleeding was in healthy pregnancies and that the majority of those who experience bleeds actually go on to have successful pregnancies. My understanding before I bled with DD was that any sort of bleeding definitely signalled the end of the pregnancy, that was it. I guess old habits die hard and to a degree, in the back of my head I still believe this even though I’ve been there done that and come out the other side once and hopefully twice with this little one.

I think it's everyone's first reaction. I definitely thought with dd1 I was having a miscarriage, the GP said I was probably having a miscarriage bit EPU were like 'all good, viable pregnancy with hb' I was Shock at the time tbh.

Iswallowtoothpaste · 27/05/2018 16:54

I bet you were! A nice surprise though.

I had a little bit more blood on the TP this morning and my heart sank but I took a deep breath and remembered what I’d been told about my cervical ectropion.

Still a little worried about measuring behind but I know I’m being a dick head because I can’t even remember when I ovulated, I’m guessing around the 17th of April which would mean that the scan was only 2 days out. Would’ve thought it would’ve been fairly accurate with it being an internal though.

OP posts:
SoyDora · 27/05/2018 17:46

It doesn’t matter if it’s internal or external, the sonographers are measuring millimetres on the screen and that’s where the ‘error’ comes in. When I had an early scan a couple of weeks ago the sonographer said they half a millimetre difference in measurement could be a couple of days in date terms.

Iswallowtoothpaste · 27/05/2018 18:01

@SoyDora, yes, I can imagine that it’s very easy to measure a mm or less out and for that to make all the difference. I’m more than happy with the strong HB that we saw. She didn’t tell me exactly how many days over 7 weeks we were she said ‘oh there’s a heartbeat but you’re very early, just over 7 weeks.’ So I don’t know whether that’s 7+1, 7+2 etc. Either way it’s probably only a maximum of 3 days out.

Did midwives appointment on Friday! Just had the letter through today. OH can’t have kids as he’s going for an appointment himself around the same time and my mum can’t have them either. I don’t really want to cancel it in all honesty but I don’t want the DC’s with me, DSD is 8 and will know and go back and tell her mum which may cause world war 3. Grrrrr

Well WW3 will break out at some point so might as well get it over with? Alternatively, I don't suppose she's the sort of 8-year-old who would understand that something might go wrong so she should keep it a total secret for the next month? Or would she understand that it would upset her mum so best not to tell her?

Iswallowtoothpaste · 30/05/2018 13:47

I know it will likely result in a shit show at some point or another Sad I just wasn’t wanting them to know yet in case the worst should happen. I would hate to have to explain to them that there wasn’t going to be a baby. And to be honest, just over the next few weeks where everything is still a bit uncertain and anxious, I’d rather not have the ex wading in and being awkward. She definitely wouldn’t keep a secret, nor would she keep it from her mum - she tells her every little detail.

I get what you’re saying but for now i really would rather keep it quiet from them if possible.

Have you got any friends nearby who could watch the DC for an hour?

Iswallowtoothpaste · 30/05/2018 13:51

All sorted! My mum’s managed to rearrange her plans bless her.

Oh good, bless your mum. I completely understand not wanting DCs to know about it just yet.

Hello, Just wondering if anybody has any similar experiences? I found out I was pregnant and from my date of my last monthly I should be approx 10 weeks. Approx 3 weeks ago I noticed blood on the tissue when I wiped, I phoned my midwife and they arranged for me to go to early pregnancy unit. I had an internal scan and they advised me that the gestational sac had implanted too low in the uterus and it looked like I was having a miscarriage. They also advised they thought the embryo had stopped growing at 5 weeks. They arranged for another scan a week later (last Thursday) to be sure if the next steps. At my second scan I was told that the embryo had grown from the week before and a foetal pole was now visible which was not before. I asked how has it grown if the embryo stopped growing at 5 weeks and she could not give me an answer. I’ve now got to wait until Friday for my third scan to see if they can detect a heartbeat(wasn’t visible previously). I’m currently still spotting on and off and have very swollen ankles. I’m so uncertain about the situation and just wondering if anybody can help with similar stories xx

Great news about scan result SmileSmileSmileShock

Sorry about Shock on iPad app just touched it as I meant to click post BlushBlushBlush

CheesecakeAddict · 30/05/2018 15:30

Stick down and step away! You might be right - the pain could be something bad. It could also be implantation cramps. And that test is not lighter

ProperLavs · 30/05/2018 16:04

Please stop doing tests op!

Iswallowtoothpaste · 30/05/2018 16:06

I haven’t done any tests for weeks! Promise!
