Anyone else had a positive test recently and due in January 2019? Natural cycles says I'm due 3rd Jan 😊 would be lovely to hear others in the same boat!

Currently 4+2 so really early days still.

Aph413 · 05/05/2018 20:51

Hello all. I've taken 5 first responses with varying degrees of positive lines but they all have 2 lines so I'm tentatively joining in. Not told my husband yet as I'm waiting for a digital test because I had a chemical last year which wasn't pleasant for either of us.
Due date of the 11th January.
Although by last missed period its December 25th!!! I have long cycles though so I'm going from ovulation

Jarline · 06/05/2018 00:01

Hi Ladies - Im out.
Miscarriage confirmed on Friday morning at EPU. Wishing you all the very best with your beautiful bumps and bundles!

isambardo · 06/05/2018 07:06

Jarline really sorry to hear that. All the best to you xx

laurs2309 · 06/05/2018 07:20

@Jarline really sorry to hear that. Take care of yourself x

Upsydasiy · 06/05/2018 07:57

Congratulations on all your bfp.

@jarline so sorry. Sending hugs 🤗

Tentatively jumping on. I’m on the jan 2019 on the antenatal board as well.

I got my positive on Wednesday and still can’t get my head around it all. Praying I have a sticky bean. Booked in for my booking and midwives make my due date 5/1/18 but I make it later as I didn’t ovulate till around 21st April (cd22) so think it will be more like 11/1/19. Guess I’ll find out at the dating scan.

Anyone having an early pregnancy scan?

DareToDream89 · 07/05/2018 09:39

How is everyone feeling?

My boobs seem to still be ok at the moment but oh my gosh I'm so bloated. I'm already using hair bands to extend my jeans and baggy tops to cover my belly!!

I get waves of nausea but not as much as in my last pregnancy which I'm worried about. My last pregnancy I felt horrendous by this stage and it ended in a miscarriage. I can't help but worry because I feel fine something is wrong.

Xxx

CobaltRose · 07/05/2018 11:48

Hi everyone.

My first pregnancy sadly ended in a missed miscarriage four weeks ago. I had an ERPC on the 11th of April, stopped bleeding on the 21st, had a negative pregnancy test on the 26th, and ovulated on the 27th, so only ten days ago.

I know, I know... 10DPO is super early, but I caved and took a FRER yesterday at 9DPO (first picture). I THINK I see a very faint line. You can see it more easily when I turn up the saturation (second picture). I then took another FRER this morning and got the third picture. Again, I see a very faint line. But I need a second pair of eyes! I don't want to get my hopes up only to find out they're evap lines... 😞

Thanks! ❤

@DareToDream89
I have no symptoms either (I’m 6 weeks, how far along are you?) and this worries me as well. My last pregnancy ended in a second trimester miscarriage and I had all the symptoms under the sun, so between us perhaps we can agree that we needn’t worry about lack of symptoms?! Easier said than done!

@ColbatRose they are very faint lines. I’ve heard some bad stuff about First Response recently, perhaps try a digital test tomorrow to get the answer in writing? Best of luck.

peaches1991 · 07/05/2018 12:20

@daretodream89 @secretstash I don't have any symptoms either apart from needing the loo way more than usual - I am only 4 weeks though so maybe it's all to come?

Jebbs · 07/05/2018 13:06

Got my positive about a week ago now and according to the apps I'd be due about the 8th of January. Mostly feeling ok though boobs can be bad and I've never peed so much in my life! Somewhere between crazy happy and terrified that things won't work out (first timer).

Loops1987 · 07/05/2018 13:08

Hi all,

I'm due DC2 on 10th Jan, DS will be 2 in September. I had a mc before him so feeling the fear along with many others, constantly checking when I go to the loo and overanalysing every little niggle I feel.

As for symptoms, I felt queasy about 9 days before AF was even due, now it's on and off, heartburn is starting slowly (I had really bad heartburn all the way through with DS) and I'm beyond tired! Sometimes I'm ravenous and other times I'm not at all hungry.

DareToDream89 · 07/05/2018 13:19

@SecretStash I'm 6 weeks on Wednesday. Due 2/1/19.

I'm sure it's nothing to worry about but can't help feeling something will go wrong xx

SecretStash · 07/05/2018 13:29

Oh totally.
I think my due date must be 31st or Jan then because I’m 6 weeks today.
Right, Im nabbing you as my ‘bump buddy’ @DareToDream89 since we have a similar due date, and similar past with regards to previous miscarriage.

Will you get an early scan because of that?

When I had my MC they said if I got pregnant again then I could have an early scan. Part of me doesn’t see the point. Part of me wants it.

DareToDream89 · 07/05/2018 13:31

@SecretStash hey bump buddy!!

If they offer me one then I certainly will take it. I have tried to talk my dh into paying for one as I'm so nervous but he's not for it at the moment. Hoping that might change tho.

Where's about in the UK are you? It's so strange how different hospital trusts offer different things xx

SecretStash · 07/05/2018 13:45

That was just the gynaecologists suggestion off the cuff. So whether it actually happens or not is something else.
Have you made a MW appointment?
Mine sees you as soon as you find out you’re pregnant but she is only in on Tuesdays (she’s the only MW in our town, she does each doctors surgery on a different day) and not free for the next few weeks, after which the chance of an early scan might have come and gone. There’s only one private place here and that’s the place that told me my previous baby’s heart had stopped beating so there’s no way I’m stepping foot back in there.
I’m South East coast.

DareToDream89 · 07/05/2018 14:16

@SecretStash I have had my referral appointment with the nurse so just waiting to hear from the midwife as to when my booking appointment will be. I'm hoping to hear from her this week. I'm going to ask when she calls about an early scan and see what she says.

I'm in Cambridgeshire and there are quite a lot of private places around but I'm not sure I'd want to go privately. I remember from my midwife pack last time that our local hospital offers early scans but you need to pay for them x

Laburna · 07/05/2018 19:23

@cobaltrose I would stop using the first response tests. I got a really weak positive the first day FMU, nothing the following day, and then a really strong positive on a Clearblue early detection. The first response only picked it up the day AF was due, I'm sure if I'd used the clear blue it would have shown up sooner!

Stupid bloody tests! And, I hadn't realised, although most claim to detect 10mlu they only need to detect 25mlu to keep the 99% accuracy claim! (The random crap you find out when you wonder where AF is and keep getting BFN!)

SecretStash · 08/05/2018 07:18

I’m 6+ 2 today and I feel sick. I guess somethings happening.....

Iswallowtoothpaste · 08/05/2018 08:23

@CobaltRose I’ve had real fun and games with FRER tests this past week, I took about 5 over the course of a week and the last 4 stayed the same darkness 😬😬 no lighter, no darker. I’ve had a slight bleed over the weekend but nothing at all since, still having sore boobs and felt slightly nauseous yesterday. All I can take from this is that I’m still pregnant but I’m in complete limbo. If this pregnancy is viable (and I’m fairly dubious) i won’t be using FRER again and will be warning others about them too!

Aph413 · 08/05/2018 08:29

I'm really convinced this pregnancy isn't sticking and I'm absolutely terrified. My tests are all super faint even with fmu.
I've been told to stop testing because a lines a line and it didn't register on a clear blue the day of my missed period.
All I can do is accept my test results and wait it out.
If I make it to the end of May with no signs of miscarriage I'm going for a private early scan.

jellyfish2210 · 08/05/2018 08:59

I took a test the day after my missed period, it was a "one step" test (which we use in radiography if a woman doesn't know if she could be pregnant before undergoing any radiation as they are meant to be able to detect up to 7 days before a missed period) and it was negative the day after my missed period. So I just assumed I was late. Told DH we weren't pregnant this month then on Thursday I just felt weird and my period still hadn't come so I bought a couple of cheapo tests from the coop which were positive. They were super faint but still positive.

I don't put a lot of stock in the darkness of the lines. A positive is a positive. It all depends on how much fluid you have in your bladder, how concentrated your levels are.

CobaltRose · 08/05/2018 09:01

Hi everyone. I didn't have any FRERs left but went and got a Superdrug test and got this....

Only thing I'm worried about is that the line appeared within a minute but disappeared after ten...

@Jarline im so sorry for your loss - take care of yourself

DareToDream89 & @SecretStash im also looking at 31st december or 1st jan due date with previous history of recurrent miscarriage ... im getting a scan Wednesday 16th through NHS which they call a viability scan im so so anxious!!! one side im excited i get to have 2 scans but on the other im petrified as never been scanned and told good news.

Fingers crossed for everybody!

Is anyone else paying for early scan?

SecretStash · 08/05/2018 09:23

Hi @LJFM2B, sorry to hear about your recurrent miscarriages. How far along do you get? Have you had early scans before?

I called my doctors, I can’t get an appointment with the MW until the end of May (because I’m on placement) when I will be 9-10 weeks so there’s just no way I will get an early scan and I won’t pay for one. As I said before, I had a perfectly good 12 week scan last time and the baby still died 2 weeks later so for me personally an early scan would make no difference to this.

I’ve booked onto the self referral system today so should get the date of my 12 week scan this week.
