FireAndRain45 · 30/04/2018 12:03

Thank you everyone! It wasn't a huge surprise as we'd discussed it happening in the next few months and we'd already talked about how it's going to be a super chilled registry office job with some food at a pub or something after. But didn't expect it while eating Risotto in my trackies and doing online banking...

Alice2018 · 30/04/2018 16:39

Hey everyone please can I join? My due date is around 3rd Jan I think... I rang the Dr's and they said the midwife would contact me. This week. This is my 1st so I really don't know what to expect... just going with it at the moment.

emmalou9 · 30/04/2018 17:24

Hi @Alice2018 congratulations.

I haven't heard from my midwife yet either. From what I can gather they normally contact you at around 8 weeks. Its my first as well so I don't really know what I'm doing but have been doing lots of reading around it.
I think it is different dependant on where you live.

Jallebi · 30/04/2018 18:20

Congratulations @Alice2018!

I called the GP and they have booked me an appointment for end May. From what I figured the appointment is with the GP and not a midwife. They also said that I could go ahead and register directly with a hospital if I wanted to, but I am waiting to see the GP first.

Alice2018 · 30/04/2018 18:29

Thanks @emmalou9 and @Jallebi congratulations to all of you too!

I rang the Dr's today and they said the midwife will call me tomorrow or Thursday but I'm not sure what for... I don't know if it's just a phone call or if I will have to book an appointment.... I'm hoping they will be able to tell me everything, I have no idea how everything works from here, I like to be prepared and right now I'm definitely not!

Alice2018 · 30/04/2018 18:30

@emmalou9 I'm trying to read everything too!!! Soooo much information to take in!

MissDee87 · 30/04/2018 18:37

MissDee87 · 30/04/2018 18:39

How are you feeling today: Absolutely shattered! Pure exhaustion. I had really bad breast pain for about ten days but that’s got a lot better, plus stomach cramps last couple of days but they’ve gone today. Spent a lot of time with my family this weekend and it’s been weird not telling them. Smile

Hope it's all plain sailing.....xXx

How are you feeling today: better. I was shattered all weekend, and did very little after a hectic week at work and a late night Friday. Today, I have sore boobs, too much saliva and am a bit nauseous, but generally feel okay.

FireAndRain45 · 30/04/2018 21:39

@Mrsbroodymamma wow I feel like you're going to be a very good source of knowledge! Six girls! My family is all girls, 11 of us amongst my sisters and cousins. Can't imagine what it would be like to have a boy tbh.

What's everyone been doing tonight? I've been reading stuff about labour which I definitely should not have done, prodding my mammoth veiny boobs and having terrible wind. My DP is a lucky man

@FireAndRain45 my evening was eventful, should have been watching endless repeats of one born every minute and scaring myself but ended up with a massive leak under our sink, two days before we go on holiday. My hormones did not take well to it so spent most of the night freaking out. DH managed a temporary fix so we have water again but my kitchen is a wreck! x

G00ders1 · 01/05/2018 06:42

@helbel42 oh no! The absolute last thing you need, especially when pregnant and just before holiday! 😬
