Just looking for a board to join, have just started weaning myself off conception. I’m due 26th December. Feeling like it would be nice to join a group with people due similar time :)
Feeling a little anxious about things going wrong and dp doesn’t really understand x

@PineapplePrincess sorry to hear this 😔I know you must be so worried but I’ve read lots of stories about pregnant woman having bloody mucus and have gone on to still have normal pregnancy...
how much blood is there?? Are you in any pain? If you are really concerned ring dr and see what you can do.

Hi @FireAndRain45. I’ve tentatively booked a private scan for tomorrow, after trawling through tons of websites - but a bit worried on their happyclappy approach and whether they can effectively impact bad news.

Our doctors surgery is not contactable until tomorrow morning and not sure whether going to the midwife would work, as I’ve already spoken to hospital direct.

I was kind of hoping EPA would just ask me in to check given my history, but the woman didn’t seem too bothered.

Hi @Rose2887. Only blood when I stick the tissue up (sorry TMI) and then not a lot really.

No cramps as such, altho’ now I’m watching every twinge - I’m not sure I’m imagining aches!?!

I know that no one can really do anything, I’m just not sure I can cope with the anxiety of not knowing.

Rose2887 · 10/05/2018 17:09

@PineapplePrincess if it’s any comfort my mum had a massive bleed when she was pregnant with me, and still had no issues.

I think it’s a good sign your not getting cramps and a lot of blood. I had a miscarriage a couple of years ago which I haven’t mentioned before, I had severe cramps and enough blood to be alarmed... I think you’d be experiencing a lot of pain this far gone! I know it’s a worry though, I’d be the same!

You’ve always got the option of just turning up to a&e and asking for a scan if it’s causing you a lot of distress xxx

@PineapplePrincess this happened to me when I was having DD. I would’ve been earlier than you are but it was a good bleed with browny, red mucus at first and then bright red blood. Had an early scan a couple of weeks later and everything was fine. Fingers crossed for you, have heard loads of stories of bleeding and successful pregnancies x

PineapplePrincess · 10/05/2018 17:16

My miscarraige last year started like this, which is why I’m panicking. Slight pink on wiping was the only symptom I had. I mentioned to the EPU I was on blood thinning medication and they asked me in for a scan - and that’s when I found out we’d lost the heartbeat (previously detected at 7wks). Otherwise it would have been at the 12wk scan.

We again got a heartbeat at 7wks this time, and now similar type bleeding. So worried the same is happening all over. Making me wait to the 12wk scan (albeit at 13+2 this time) seems cruel.

Iswallowtoothpaste · 10/05/2018 17:22

Echoing what OP said, with my M/C’s I had pink blood which got heavier accompanied by cramping and back ache which got worse pretty quickly.

Iswallowtoothpaste · 10/05/2018 17:24

I think it’s awful that they won’t do a scan, especially seeing as though you’re almost through the first trimester. They’d rather you sat and worried (which is worse than knowing either way IMO) which in turn isn’t going to do anyone any good.

FireAndRain45 · 10/05/2018 17:58

I've had lots of dealings with the NHS recently (before I got preg) and I've had to fight tooth and nail to get any help at all. The doctors and nurses are generally great but due to budget cuts and red tape etc you often have to be very very ill before they can do anything. It must be exhausting for you to have to push so hard for a scan when you clearly deserve to have one.

I don't know if it'll work but in the past I've got up the NICE guidelines and basically used them to push them into giving me the treatment that I needed

Pob13 · 10/05/2018 18:08

@PineapplePrincess I would def try the midwife or GP as soon as you can. Maybe out of hours. They should definitely be able to refer you for a scan.
Try not to panic, easier said than done i know.

Rose2887 · 11/05/2018 10:55

@PineapplePrincess How are you? X

Hi @Pob13 no I don’t mind I’ve a history of reoccurring miscarriage with the last one at 16 weeks the others were much earlier due to that I am currently taking progesterone - I’ve also had cervical cancer so the treatment for that may have shortened my cervix so need extra scans to get that measured at 17 weeks and onwards to see if I need a suture. I had my booking appointment yesterday and got all my referrals complete so hopefully will provide more support and reassurance xx

FoxgloveStar · 13/05/2018 07:52

I’m really sorry @PineapplePrincess. I hope you have some time and space to rest and recover and that your parent is there to be with you xxx

FoxgloveStar · 13/05/2018 07:52

Partner not parent although of course parents might help too

FoxgloveStar · 13/05/2018 07:53

@Pob13 I’m consultant led as I have a pre-existing bowel disease that needs to be keep in control during pregnancy.

FireAndRain45 · 13/05/2018 11:19

Well week 6 really is kicking my arse with the nausea, not been sick yet still but bleugggh.

Anyone else feeling like they don't want to leave the house at all in case you feel sick when you go out? Am I just going to have to be a hermit for the next couple of months 😩

Rose2887 · 13/05/2018 11:48

@FireAndRain45 I just feel hungover! Yesterday was the first morning I ran to the toilet but just gagged, I’m thinking I won’t be sick as wasn’t with dd and I’m 7+4 now so thinking this is it for me with the sickness 🤞
How is everyone? Xx
