Just looking for a board to join, have just started weaning myself off conception. I’m due 26th December. Feeling like it would be nice to join a group with people due similar time :)
Feeling a little anxious about things going wrong and dp doesn’t really understand x

Update following scan...

So news is not great, but also it's not over yet.

They saw baby and heartbeat. However, they are concerned that the gestational sac is too tight around the baby, and they say that in the majority of cases this ends in miscarriage.

The nurse was talking as if I'd already lost it, handing me the tissues before I'd even started crying!

But have read lots since I got home, and there is still a chance that sac can catch up with baby. A small chance, but better than nothing.

My mission now is to consume 3000 gallons of water a day. And someone else suggested vit-D for some reason.

Think I'm going to start a new post on this very topic and see what experience other folk had.

Thanks for everyones good wishes, and support. It's a big help.

Pob13 · 08/05/2018 14:10

@gemwhitt not really sure what to say to that! Get that water down you and i will be keeping everything crossed for you. Hopefully you have a little fighter in there.

Iswallowtoothpaste · 08/05/2018 16:41

@gemwhitt boo to the nurse! I guess it difficult to know how to react but put in her position, I’d certainly try to be as positive as I could be!

Hopefully everything catches up for you, where there’s life, there’s hope as they say!

Pob13 · 08/05/2018 16:42

Just met my midwife, seems nice. She expects the bleeding is fine as it is just spotting. She is going to phone me on sat and if im still spotting then she will refer me for a scan. Obviously if i have major bleeding i will get in touch sooner.

Got my proper booking in appointment booked for the 21st. She comes to my house! I feel like i should bake a cake and get the fancy china out!

Feeling ok about it all at the moment.

FoxgloveStar · 08/05/2018 18:50

@gemwhitt do your reading, ask for advice and do what you can

Iswallowtoothpaste · 08/05/2018 19:05

@Foxglovestar if I remember correctly, I think they only start checking the heartbeat with the Doppler at 16 weeks. If it’s your booking in appointment then I’m guessing that you’re still quite early on x

FireAndRain45 · 08/05/2018 19:08

@FoxgloveStar I had my booking appointment today and apart from paperwork it was just a blood test, urine test, and carbon monoxide test. Lasted ages! About 1 1/2 hours

N8Emma · 08/05/2018 22:25

@gemwhitt @Pob13
Sorry to hear about all the stress you are going through. Well done both for staying so positive- I have my fingers and toes crossed for both of you.
I told a few people at work today and feel so relieved. I'm normally such an open book and it feels weird keeping such a big secret! In other news, I managed to sleep till 6:15 this morning... It almost felt like a lie-in!

Rose2887 · 09/05/2018 11:45

Hey everyone, so today I bought a couple of little bits, I don’t want to jinx it but thought if there are any issues I’ll send them to my friend who’s due in a few months. I was worrying about the expense so thought if I bought some small bits here and there will be more costly Grin

So sorry to hear about some of the stresses some of you are going through Sad
This is a very testing time for us emotionally and physically anyway..

How is everyone today? Sun is shining, it’s my dp birthday and celebrating over weekend so just been out to try search for something suitable! Can’t see this bloat going down, my dp sister is about 6 months and is hardly showing 🙈

Haven’t had a little day shopping to myself for a very long time, actually been nice.

@Rose2887 I've bought one little onesie just to try and make it feel real!

How's everyone's morning sickness coming along? I've been feeling a gross but not been sick yet. Often seem to eat things, then a couple of hours later feel like I never want to eat that food ever again. Seems to pass fairly quickly though.

Had my booking appointment yesterday and the midwife was nice so that's good! Can't believe you get their mobile number!

Pob13 · 09/05/2018 14:50

Im too scared to buy anything.
Im still getting random cramps. Anyone else?

Rose2887 · 09/05/2018 15:30

@FireAndRain45 I feel exactly the same... had some chicken off the bbq at the weekend, loved it now literally thinking of it 🤮🤮🤮 I’ve not been sick once tho!

@Pob13 I get the odd cramp here and there but much better than it was!!! Don’t worry too much!

Xx

I had my booking appointment with midwife. Feeling a bit down as flashbacks to how awful my labour was last time. Trying to push the negative thoughts aside but I’m sure this will only increase as the pregnancy progresses. The midwife I saw seemed hopeless and was covering for the community midwife I was supposed to see. It feels like the best thing to do is to try and simply put it all out of my mind for now as worrying isn’t constructive.

Scan next Friday.

lozapink · 09/05/2018 19:06

@Pob13 I'm feeling the same as you. Lots of aches and pains. I got 'the fear' last night that it's the start of another mc as it felt like period pain last time. I keep running to the toilet to check there isn't any blood.

I need to just try and relax and think positively as I know these aches and pains are more likely to be everything stretching and making room x

Rose2887 · 09/05/2018 19:08

@FoxgloveStar I’ve been thinking about that too... my dd said she thought I’d forgotten I said I thought I had.... can we opt for elective c-sections now? I’m quite small and last time had a lot of trouble getting dd out. Xx

OP posts:
FoxgloveStar · 09/05/2018 19:25

@lozapink if the pains literally feel like muscles stretching then they are probably stretching pains. Try not to worry.

@rose2887 yes but I can’t as I have an unrelated health issue which makes c sections high risk for me. I’m also small and ended up having a horrendous long and painful labour that left me broken physically (to this day still suffering the consequences). The booking midwife seemed to think if I’d been in a nicer environment (midwife led unit) it could have all been so different. I don’t think some nice pictures on the wall or a window would have made a jot of difference. I was completely consumed by being in labour and in excruciating pain every 30 seconds for 2 days... and DS was going the long way round irrespective of the decor.

emmalou9 · 09/05/2018 20:18

Hi lovely ladies,

Hope you're all doing well. Sorry to hear about those of you who are having a few issues - I hope everything works out okay.

I just wanted to say, that if any of you are wondering whether to have an early scan or not... do it. I've been for mine tonight at 6+5 and it's made everything feel real and pushed a lot of my worries to the back of my mind. I'm such a worrier at the best of times so I've been a nightmare since we found out.

FireAndRain45 · 09/05/2018 20:35

@Rose2887 mine was cheese and ham on oatcakes...thought I wanted them at the time, now I never want to see/taste/smell them ever again!

@Pob13 yep I'm still having cramps, feels like my period is gonna start any day, midwife said they're completely normal just the uterus stretching

@emmalou9 ahh that's great! I booked one for a couple of weeks time when I'll be about 8 weeks, half excited half terrified but hoping it'll be really reassuring

Pob13 · 09/05/2018 20:41

Ok, moral dilema. So the midwife is going to call on Saturday and if I have still had spotting then she is going to refer me for an early scan. So far I havent had any more spotting which is obviously what i want. But, can I lie just to get the early scan?
Be honest with me!

smorgasborgen · 09/05/2018 21:37

Hey, I can understand why your tempted but your scan could mean someone else has to wait longer to get there's and they may actually be bleeding.
I can see why you'd b very tempted though!

Rose2887 · 10/05/2018 07:55

@Pob13 it wouldn’t hurt for you to go to scan anyway, it’s peace of mind. If you’ve been offered it and had some bleeding then go for it. X

Does anyone else feel unattractive at the minute? I literally feel awful, woke up with a spot on my forehead which has concerned me as suffered with bad acne last year and after taking meds cleared up, also my jeans are all tighter, and my ankles were puffy from the heat, I’m only a size 6 to 8 and I’m short at 5ft 1 so really noticing it! Is anyone else consultant led?

PineapplePrincess · 10/05/2018 16:28

Hey guys, been of lurk mode for a bit. But now having a major panic.

Currently 10+2, went to the toilet earlier and when I wiped I had a miniscule bit of mucus with a tinge to it. Proceeded to (sorry tmi) raise the tissue up and it came back with a smear of blood. Done this several times now and each time it comes back with a mix of either brown blood or slight red.

Called EPA and got the usual ‘wait and see’ line. But I’ve had to leave work, I’m so upset. It was around this time and like this that I miscarried last year.

My 12 week scan is three weeks away, I can’t wait that long not knowing what’s happening.

FireAndRain45 · 10/05/2018 16:40

Hi @PineapplePrincess so sorry to hear that, do you have a local scanning place where you can pay for a private scan? Also have you contacted your GP or midwife? They might be able to push the referral through with a bit more force
