34 weeks and saw midwife who tried to listen in to baby. Got another midwife to try too and both couldn't find it so now I'm on my way to the antenatal unit. It's scary. Has anyone had the same? What happened please??

Is baby moving?

SomeKnobend · 17/04/2018 13:09

Hope you are ok OP. I notice in my bigger pregnancy movements are harder to feel and heartbeat is harder to find, whereas in my pregnancies when I was skinny everything could be felt/heard/found really easily. Could be if you're bigger it's just a bit more difficult to get to the right bit or know where exactly to listen etc.

She's a really active baby I feel her move A LOT but now I'm questioning that one felt her this morning.

Hopefully all will be okay. I'm sure they will have you straight in for scan or monitoring as soon as you get to the hospital x

Cantchooseaname · 17/04/2018 13:14

Did they both use same Doppler? Could have been that that was faulty?
Fingers crossed for you.

Aprilmightbemynewname · 17/04/2018 13:14

Hope they see you straight away op.

DBoo · 17/04/2018 13:16

Thinking of you op. Hopefully get seen straight away and get reassurance.

feathermucker · 17/04/2018 13:17

Peanutty86 · 17/04/2018 13:18

That must be so scary. I hope you'll be seen straight away. Thinking of you.

Maryann1975 · 17/04/2018 13:18

Thinking of you op. Hope you get some reassuring news soon

ColourfulOrangex · 17/04/2018 13:18

Hope all is ok OP, they will probably monitor you as soon as you get there but could just be a faulty Doppler Thanks are you going on your own? Hope not

CocoaGin · 17/04/2018 13:20

Make sure someone goes with you or meets you there. Hope everything is ok Flowers

witchofzog · 17/04/2018 13:20

Thinking of you op.

Bluebirdsky · 17/04/2018 13:20

It does happen sometimes; but that makes it non the less scary for you. It could be that the Doppler they were using is faulty.
Hope everything is ok when you get to the hospital.

Nannyplumssillyoldelf · 17/04/2018 13:21

Hope it goes well at the hospital. When I was pregnant with Dd everyone struggled to find her heartbeat. I had to go in for a few scans and for monitoring because of it.

Buddyelf · 17/04/2018 13:21

Thinking of you OP - hope all goes ok Flowers

ImNotAFlower · 17/04/2018 13:21

My midwife struggled with my sons heartbeat at 39 weeks.
Off we trundled to the mat unit for it to be chugging away like a train.
He had just got himself tucked up in a tight ball and her Doppler struggled.
I hope all goes wellThanks

doowapwap · 17/04/2018 13:22

I hope all goes ok, must be really scary for you but you're going to the right place and hopefully will be reassured very soon

WIshing you and your baby well. This kind of thing can be a false alarm, your baby may be in an odd position or it culd be a faulty machine. Try not to panic xx

DD2017 · 17/04/2018 13:28

Yes I had this as the placenta was at the front and blocking everything including most movement.
They'll get you strapped up to the monitor to listen which is more effective than the midwife tools.
Keep us posted.

windchimesabotage · 17/04/2018 13:30

can you feel her moving still? Theres a chance it could be the position of the placenta meaning they cannot hear the heartbeat, could also mean you cant feel much movement. Hope everything is okay must be really scary Flowers

TanginaBarrons · 17/04/2018 13:31

That must have been horrible. Keeping everything crossed for you op - you are in the right place.

sauvignonblancplz · 17/04/2018 13:35

Hope you’re ok, I’ve no advice but some reassuring advice from others . If you felt movement & nomally feel a lot of movement you would have noticed a difference before now. Thinking of you Flowers
