34 weeks and saw midwife who tried to listen in to baby. Got another midwife to try too and both couldn't find it so now I'm on my way to the antenatal unit. It's scary. Has anyone had the same? What happened please??

No advise but I hope everything is ok xx

17caterpillars1mouse · 17/04/2018 13:38

Really hoping all is ok.

Bippitybopityboo · 17/04/2018 13:39

Thankyou ladies. It has honestly been the most worrying experience I've ever had. She was fine tucked away behind her placenta which was stopping the doppler picking up the heartbeat. I had a scan and everything is ok, I was so relieved I cried!
The midwives were brilliant and saw us really quickly!

Thankyou for such kind reassuring words!

I am so, so pleased to read your update! I'm not surprised you cried. Fingers crossed that all goes smoothly for the remainder of your pregnancy and your little madam doesn't play any more games!! Flowers

I'm so happy for you that everything is ok.

Chocness · 17/04/2018 13:59

Great news! I had this a few times so just be prepared that it might happen again and try not to worry (I know easier said than done). They are little tinkers these babies 💐

Heismyopendoor · 17/04/2018 13:59

So glad all is well OP. Can’t imagine how you felt

Elendon · 17/04/2018 14:00

So pleased that you were seen quickly and that all was well. This happened to me. It's a worrying time and I'm delighted the outcome was good.

This is an important thread for anyone who is in late pregnancy. Never doubt the midwives and never doubt your own thoughts regarding movement of baby in pregnancy. Get it checked out - be safe for both of you.

pigmcpigface · 17/04/2018 14:00

Phew! Thank goodness! Sounds like a large slice of cake and a brew are needed!

TakeMe2Insanity · 17/04/2018 14:01

Phew! So relieved for you. Maybe keep a kick chart so you have an instant answer to the question of 'how long since you felt her kick?' if she does it again.

All the best for the final few weeks.
