Hey - me again! DH is keen to have a scan done earlier than the 12 weeks - I think it would give him some reassurance to have something to look at. Has anyone had a 6 week scam - was it worth it? Or would waiting for 8 weeks be better? TIA

Cakelaur · 22/05/2018 17:01

@Wowthisisreal I'd say wait until 8 weeks cos it bridges the gap better. Plus you can see more. At 6 weeks sometimes it's hit and miss if you see much. Or if there's a heartbeat to see. By 8 weeks you can see the little bean and the fluttering heartbeat.

Englishpetal89 · 26/05/2018 19:35

I'm so bored of waiting now!! I've known for nearly 2 weeks, have 2 more weeks till my booking app. and want to buy all the lovely things!!
Booked onto an expectant parents event at Mothercare at the end of June :)

GoldilocksTheGraceless · 26/05/2018 19:41

Ooo that sounds exciting! I just had my booking appt yesterday and suddenly felt like it is all real. 2 more weeks til my first scan and I'm getting so impatient for that now! 😂 I'm sure it'll all come around super quickly in retrospect but right now it's dragging!

Thought I'd share my 10week scan pics. 😍 bub looks like a teddy bear! All good. 169 heartbeat. Nice and strong. Almost excited about my 12 week scan now.
How's everyone else doing?

Girls I've never been so excited in my life!!! My little sister is 5 weeks pregnant. So we're gonna be 6 weeks apart!!! I'm not allowed to tell anyone so I'm shouting about it on here!!! It couldn't be more perfect!!! I makes me think I lost my little one for a reason. So we could be pregnant together!!! 🌈

Wowthisisreal · 27/05/2018 23:02

@Cakelaur fab news!! Love cousins growing up together and you'll have a pregnancy and maternity buddy! ❤️

Cakelaur · 28/05/2018 08:22

I know @Wowthisisreal Cant wait. We can do bump pics together and the kids will grow up together and go to the same school and everything!! So so excited!!

byanyothernamerose · 29/05/2018 07:44

Can I join? Reading everything I possibly can!! I'm only 4 weeks and 6 days though....

GoldilocksTheGraceless · 29/05/2018 11:28

Welcome @byanyothernamerose !!
So excited to have you here with us 😍 how are you feeling at the moment? I think when I was 4+6 I was outrageously exhausted but the nausea hadn't set in yet.

Currently 10+2 and my nausea is winding down a bit, tiredness comes and goes and in general I'm just a bit grumpy! Definitely looking forward to 2nd trimester now...

@Cakelaur that is such wonderful news, so happy for you all! I take it you live close by to your sister if the kids can go to the same school? Absolutely adorable! My OH and his cousin are 1yr apart and are so close they're more like brothers, so this will be amazing!

Yeah @GoldilocksTheGraceless we live about 10 streets from each other. 10mins walk. 😉

Cakelaur · 29/05/2018 20:59

@GoldilocksTheGraceless I'm super grumpy too. All the time. My OH can do no right!! Bless him.

byanyothernamerose · 30/05/2018 08:43

Hi there @GoldilocksTheGraceless ...five weeks today!! Weirdly I've been feeling nausea (without vomiting) for the last 3 weeks! It hasn't developed into full morning sickness yet but I'm guessing that's all ahead of me 🙈

I had my first real spell of fatigue yesterday...I just started a new office job and early afternoon I could barely keep my eyes open. I'm also rushing to the loo every hour, it's a small office so they have definitely noticed already....

I am finding these threads so useful, makes me feel like I'm not going crazy and imagining these symptoms...so thank you!!

byanyothernamerose · 30/05/2018 08:49

Just finished my breakfast at work...a sausage, homemade beans and mushrooms...and get the feeling I am going to be throwing this up v soon Confused

GoldilocksTheGraceless · 30/05/2018 11:56

Oh you poor thing! I hope you managed to keep it where it belongs! Do your best to remain hydrated too 😃 congrats on hitting the 5 week mark!

So my symptoms seem to be lessened today, and while that's lovely not to have constant mild cramping, sore boobs and nausea, it also makes me worry that something is wrong.
Still super tired, very slight cramping and nausea, boobs hardly sore at all. I'm only 6+0 but no bleeding at all.
Just looking for some reassurance that symptoms might ebb and flow and everything is fine!

GoldilocksTheGraceless · 31/05/2018 09:47

@Englishpetal89 mine come and go constantly. I remember poking my boobs all the time to see if they were hurting again... well that just made things worse! Also a couple of weeks ago my nausea stopped for three days and I freaked... then I vommed everywhere which was delightful 🤨 in my experience it really is s rollercoaster when it comes to symptoms. Eat when you feel fine, spend time with friends when you're not in pain, and be ready for the next wave!! Hope that helps x

Englishpetal89 · 31/05/2018 09:59

@GoldilockstheGraceless It does help, thank you. I'm just so anxious about what could go wrong, and I know that nothing I do (within reason) is going to make the slightest bit of difference, but that doesn't stop me being concerned.
I just need to stop worrying, and let this pregnancy happen! :)

Englishpetal89 · 07/06/2018 21:31

Hope we're all feeling vaguely ok. I know I've got emotions flooding everywhere, nausea 15 hours a day, and constant mild cramps, plus not being able to keep my eyes open in the evening.

Nutters who are further along - tell me this passes?? :D

Cakelaur · 07/06/2018 23:10

Where are you at @Englishpetal89? I'm 12+3 and I'm sick all day long. Just wanna sleep and I have cramps on and off. I'm hoping by 14 weeks it'll ease up. I did have one day ( a couple days ago) where I didn't throw up!! Haha

Englishpetal89 · 08/06/2018 05:37

@Cakelaur I'm 7+2, midwife booking app today!
Sometimes it's silly things that make me feel sick, like only really wanting to eat the fish from my dinner, then not being able to go into the kitchen because it smells of fish... 🙄
