Ok I cracked. I've had a 6 week, an 8 week and now I've gone and booked a private 10 weeks scan!! Call me crazy!! Haha then I have my 12 weeks

TwittleBee · 17/05/2018 16:49

haha brilliant Cakelaur bless you for wanting to be reassured! Don't blame you though! GL with your 10wk scan and hope your lovely baby is all good in there! DO you reckon you'll be keeping this habit up, having extra scans?

Cakelaur · 17/05/2018 18:38

@TwittleBee I think once I get to 12 weeks and I can see my belly growing I'll be ok. May do a 16 week one. Haha. No idea! My OH is quite relaxed and taking my lead. But at some point I'll have to start trusting my body. Haha what about you? Are you gonna just let your body do its thing? Or are you gonna have early scans? The first 12 weeks are defo the worst! You feel like shit and have nothing to show for it! Haha

TwittleBee · 17/05/2018 19:20

Cakelaur yeah once you get to that 12 weeks you can certainly relax a lot easier. Hope it passes quickly for you! I'll probably get one around 8 week mark, we had one 1st time round at 7 weeks (because of feared ectopic pregnancy) and it was so reassuring seeing a little bean there

GoldilocksTheGraceless · 17/05/2018 20:38

@Cakelaur you are hilarious. I have to say though, I feel like I'm living vicariously through you because I absolutely love seeing your scans! Is it weird that my DP loves them too?! He's often asking how you are now 😂😂😂😂
I would love to have a scan by now but my 12 week is booked in for 11th 😲 and so I feel like I 'should' just let it come and be patient. It feels weird to say this but I already want to meet my little bean and having that scan just will make it that much closer.

Hope you're all having a lovely evening x

@GoldilocksTheGraceless you're mega restrained!! Haha!! I'm glad my craziness is carrying onto the pregnancy not just the TTC!! Haha!!

Englishpetal89 · 17/05/2018 22:48

@TwittleBee EDD buddies!! Mines 23rd Jan as well!

@Goldilocks Feeling ok, just anxious! I have other health things going on (the kind that are most probably just because I need to lose some weight but they like to check out anyway) and had an ultrasound booked in for that - which they've now cancelled because of being pregnant... Makes me more anxious about something going wrong.

@Cakelaur I totally get needing the reassurance - I've poas for the last 4 days running and have them lined up in my bathroom so I can see if the line is getting darker. I also bought two clear blue dating tests - one for this week and one for next to reassure myself that things are on track.

Got my booking appointment arranged today for the first week of June, but need to arrange cover art work without telling anyone why!

TwittleBee · 18/05/2018 08:23

Englishpetal89 claim dentist/ eye appointment? Or just Drs? Good luck with it! Think I'm going to wait until 6 weeks and get a certain BFP before I book in with MW

Englishpetal89 · 19/05/2018 16:04

@TwittleBee I work in a school, so there's very few things that aren't just expected to be done outside of school hours lol.
You're probably being sensible, I just got too excited...
I told my mum yesterday though!!!

TwittleBee · 20/05/2018 06:45

Englishpetal89 ah crap yeah you can't easily get away then!

Anyway, I'm slowly backing out of here again. AF turned up. I'm okay, emotional understandably but just focusing on house move and wedding this month.

I'll pop in every now and then to see how you're all getting on. Flowers

Wowthisisreal · 20/05/2018 10:53

Can I join?! 😊

Englishpetal89 · 20/05/2018 19:23

Sorry for the tmi, but is anyone else really wet "down there" almost all the time? It's almost as bad as just before ovulating!

Just want to know that it's normal lol

Angharad07 · 20/05/2018 21:05

Hello, new here!
I’m due on the 10th of December. Currently 10+6. 3rd pregnancy, hopefully this will be my first child 😊

GoldilocksTheGraceless · 20/05/2018 23:13

Evening all :) happy to see new people on this thread, where nothing is TMI 😜
@Englishpetal89 I did have something that sounds similar but it kind of faded a bit and now I'm just kind of 'normal'... if that makes sense?!

Today was my grossest yet, I have an overwhelming fear of vomiting and was sick twice today so lots of drama in our house 🤦‍♀️ so lucky that DP isn't squeamish!

Onto 9+1 now and so looking forward to getting through the next 3 weeks!!!

Hi all, can I join please? My period isn't due until the 25th but I have been feeling nauseous for a week now and took (a lot ahem) of tests early and I am definitely pregnant!! Still feeling anxious as it is so early...

how do you guys calculate exactly how far along you are?

And I'm glad the tiredness isn't just in my head! Anyone else feeling super nauseous most of the day?

Wowthisisreal · 21/05/2018 15:38

I'd love to join this thread. Got my BFP on Saturday so I estimate I am currently 4 + 3. 1st month trying, First child and first pregnancy test! Can't believe it to be honest.

I booked my midwife appointment today and that seemed crazy real - also the first time I said the words "I'm pregnant" in a semi calm manner (not screaming at DH holding the test).

I'm struggling with the knowing / not knowing element of this side of things. Particularly around the midwife being so far away and just really wanted baby to be safe and healthy and to stay etc etc etc. Is this normal? I keep thinking I should take tests, like that will reassure me things are ok. I'm surprised by how protective I feel over my little poppy seed.

No side effects apart from I seem to be peeing like a trooper and I'm tired (the second one could be perception!) and I've also had two moments of nausea (one before test and today).

How is everyone coping in the early weeks / how did everyone cope? I really want to tell my mum and dad and siblings but I'm torn between wanting a big announcement later down the line and just wanted to blurt it out so they can be happy and I have someone to talk to (apart from you and DH) about it.

Wowthisisreal · 21/05/2018 15:45

Oh @GoldilocksTheGraceless I wish I hadn't seen that chart! 😫 22.8%

GoldilocksTheGraceless · 21/05/2018 16:55

@Wowthisisreal I'm so excited for you!!

22% is freaky today, but just wait until tomorrow... and the next day... and the next. Watching those decimal places going down is one of the best feelings. I'm 9+1 now and well into single digits. Feels amazing so trust me it's worth it!!

I chose a couple of people to tell because I'm the kind of person who has to talk things through and everyone is different. How does your OH feel?

I'm having my first midwife appointment this Friday when I'll be 9+5 so it does feel like I've been pregnant for ages before seeing someone. I did so many tests in my first few weeks to keep myself calm and trusting that I really truly am pregnant, I think that's normal.

My advice now is to get stuff done with work/Home/socialising because since 6+0 I've been so sick and exhausted that I've been stuck at home. I can't wait for the second trimester! 😂😂

@byanyothernamerose your due date can be calculated on the nhs website, if you know the date of the first day of your last period. My last period began on 19th March so my estimated due date (EDD) is 24th December 🤶 hope this helps!!!

Yay for all the newbies! Congrats ladies!!!

SophieStripe · 21/05/2018 19:14

So after some spotting week 5 and beginning of week 6 I am now 6+5 just two more days till 7 weeks!!! So so scared though that my bleeding was a MMC... my symptoms have faded a bit, I think, by nipples look smaller and defo not as nauseated. I did a clear blue today though and it said 3+... Someone put my mind at rest please?! Half of me wants to go for an early scan, the other half is trying to just let what will be, be.

Cakelaur · 21/05/2018 19:21

@SophieStripe I think you have to do what makes you feel better. I've had two scans at Epu so far and I'm 10 weeks today. I should wait until 12 weeks but have booked a private scan for Friday because after my mmc last time I just don't trust my body and I know for me it's better to take baby steps. So if you're calm then keep going. If you want reassurance and can afford a private scan go for it cos that moment you see that little bean is incredible!!

byanyothernamerose · 21/05/2018 20:01

Hi all, thank you for the welcome!! I am only 3+5...and I am so worried that in a few days when my period should come it will all go away...I feel silly now for testing so early but I have had quite a few symptoms already that I would have known even without the test...I will feel so much calmer once I have reached Friday!!

Wowthisisreal · 21/05/2018 23:28

@GoldilocksTheGraceless so we cracked and told my close family!!!

Went round to my parents and DH asked me to get something from my bag. I made a show of trying to find it (my mum is always saying I have too much in my bag!!) - pulled out first a bottle of champagne and handed it to my sister saying "oh can you just hold this for a minute?", then pulled out one positive test and handed it to my mum, and then another one and handed it to my dad. Mum just held it looking confused, then my sister realised and then Mum started crying 😂 dad was just looking at his saying "you're not pregnant".

We then face timed my brother but once he saw DH and I on the camera and in my parents house he guessed!

We are both so pleased we told them!

Cakelaur · 22/05/2018 07:43

Haha. We only lasted two days of knowing this time round. It was my Mums birthday and last time when we lost the bub, she'd stopped knitting little bits. So we went round and they were packing to go away and we just said you may wanna pack your knitting. She was so excited!! Haha. We did baby grows and made a massive fuss first time round. This time no one is allowed to be excited yet. Although I'm now 10 weeks and I'm starting to feel a little more excited. Once we have the scan on Friday and then the nuchal scan at 12 weeks I think it will start to feel real!!! 🙈

@Wowthisisreal such a cute way of telling the family. Love that!!
