@peachesarenom so pleased everything is ok! How far along are you now?

So pissed off. In my area you have to be referred to the midwife team by your GP. I was supposed to have my appointment today but my train is cancelled so I won't make it. I'm 7+3 today but they can't see me until I'm 9+1. No idea when I'll have my booking in appointment. Do I need that before being referred for my 12 week scan?

When have you all had your booking in appointments?

By my LMP, they'll date me at 11 weeks by the time I see the GP.

Cakelaur · 21/05/2018 17:20

Omg!! @peachesarenom I'm am so so thrilled for you!!! I've been trying to get to my phone all day to check on you!!! Just the best news!! How far along are you now?? I'm excited but nervous for my scan on Friday. I'll be 10+4!!

@Daffodil77 it varies area by area.

My previous two pregnancies I had to see a GP to be referred to Midwife.

All the GP does is ask if you are happy and want to continue with pregnancy Sad

Here I just phoned my GP surgery who booked me a 90min slot with Midwife for when I'm 8 weeks. No questions asked I was quite shocked.

I would Phone GP surgery and just ask what to do next and state you don't feel the need to waste a precious GP appointment which could be better used. Maybe ask for a phone consult with GP if they insist on seeing a GP.

peachesarenom · 21/05/2018 18:10

Thank you all!

Cakelaur the private scans are so much better, more patient, better equipment. I'll defo go for a 4D later in pregnancy. I'm 9+2 so you'll see even more than me!

leanne9312 · 21/05/2018 18:17

@peachesarenom I'm so pleased your ok! What a good quality picture my scan at 8+5 looks like a cauliflower 😕

Nearly10 weeks on Thursday though :) Yey

peachesarenom · 21/05/2018 18:37

leanne9312 my epu wouldn't give me any pics!

Patienceofatoddler · 21/05/2018 18:41

@peachesarenom it depends why your having them and where.

If in EPU or a Day Assessment Unit they often just don't have time compared to when you go for a boiled appointment for a planned scan I should imagine.

peachesarenom · 21/05/2018 18:47

Yes quite possibly

Patienceofatoddler · 21/05/2018 18:48

Haha booked appointment not boiled Blush

leanne9312 · 21/05/2018 19:07

@peachesarenom aw no that's not nice !
Its your body they should give a photo if u bloody ask !! Lol x

Cakelaur · 21/05/2018 19:22

@peachesarenom at my 6 week emergency Epu appointment I didn't get a scan pic. At the 8 week one I was so hysterical they had to give me one cos I didn't want them to make me leave cos I just wanted to stare at my bean!! Haha

leanne9312 · 21/05/2018 19:56

@Cakelaur I got one at 6 weeks aswell but I was also crying haha and I could only see the sac a little heartbeat and a dot on the corner !

peachesarenom · 21/05/2018 21:29

I can't speak when I'm anxious

BabynameEdie · 21/05/2018 22:59

Hello all! How is everyone?
Super busy at work, how's your busy week going @Cakelaur ?
The EPU doctor who did my scans before my MC has suggested a 6+4 scan which would be in two weeks, I def want to go but also nervous I won't see anything and might then go through another two weeks of anxiety before seeing anything more!
Thoughts on early scans? He did say I could wait until the week after but my DH wouldn't be around and he'd like to come to the scan (and I'd like him to!!)

Cakelaur · 22/05/2018 07:35

@BabynameEdie how you doing?? I'm ok. Sickness seems to be a little less harsh at the mo. This week should be nice and chilled for me. It was last week That was chaotic!! I think you should defo do 6+4 scan. You should be able to see a little
Blob and a heartbeat around that time. We had one at 5+5 and measured closer to 5, but had a heartbeat and it was such a relief. Went back at 8+3 and measured a day ahead. I then booked a private one for this Friday and I'll be 10+4 and then on the 6th June I've got my 12+2 nuchal scan!! Hahah! So I've gone mad with scans!! 🙈

BabynameEdie · 22/05/2018 07:38

@Cakelaur ahh cool that's reassuring to hear! My last scan at 6 weeks was a very sad one, so I guess it's natural to be nervous. So glad your sickness is easing. I don't know what I'll do if I'm hit with sickness - like you, my whole life and work is food! 😬😩 but it will def be worth it!!
Sorry got muddled up with your busy week - time is flying for me (a v good thing) as work is ramping up.
But am also managing to stay calm and well rested so fingers crossed.
Hope everyone else is ok! X

MagicalCreatures · 22/05/2018 15:14

Eeeeek!!!
I’ve booked a 9 week Scan for Thursday evening.
Couldn’t wait any longer.
And then I’ve got my 12 week Scan exactly 3 weeks later.
How am I going to last another 3 weeks.
God this is going soooo slow!!!!!

Olivecake · 22/05/2018 15:21

I feel you @MagicalCreatures - I’m not even 5 weeks yet and I feel like it’s dragging so much! Exciting that you have your scan this week though, that will really help I’m sure.

I started worrying the last few days that I have no symptoms at all and last time I had horrific sickness but I’m trying to reassure myself that it started later than this last time although I really can’t remember

kaytees · 22/05/2018 16:47

@Cakelaur you've made my day saying the sickness is easing... I hope it continues to do so!!

Yessss @MagicalCreatures I am so so tempted to book another scan though my '12 week' is booked for 13/06 so I am hoping I can hang out another few weeks. Can't shake this 'what if something is wrong' feeling...

A truly 'why is this happening' moment on the commute home today. Had a tough day at work for various reasons and finally got on bus (last leg of journey) - 2 stops later a poor little girl was sick everywhere on the bus floor. The poor thing but oh, the smell in the heat when you're already battling morning sickness.. 🤢

Wiggle4 · 22/05/2018 20:16

@kaytees my next scan is 12 week when I'll be 12+4 on 6th June and it feels like forever!!!!! Last scan I was 8+4. I'm so paranoid as I had lots of symptoms early on but they seem to have eased off Sad really hoping everything is ok but got to wait 2 weeks to find out!

kaytees · 22/05/2018 20:32

@Wiggle4 2 weeks feels like a long time huh! Though you must be around 10 weeks which I believe is when a lot of symptoms do ease off a bit so it may just be you're one who's symptoms do actually lessen at 10 weeks!

I've just had some spotting which I never had in first preg and am now absolutely terrified. It was so minimal and kind of pinky but oh, the panic. I may well try and see if I can get a scan tomorrow...

Wiggle4 · 22/05/2018 20:58

@kaytees yep I'm 10+3 now. The only thing I still have is the bloating that makes me look about 6 months pregnant from 2pm onwards! Not sure if this is reassuring or not!
Ah hun I'm sure it's fine, as you read so many times so many people have spotting and go on to have healthy pregnancies! See if you can get in an epu?

xLeanne128 · 22/05/2018 21:45

I'm 9+4 now is anybody else having pain in their hips/buttock. It started yesterday in my left buttock but is now in my left hip feels like a bone pain hoping I'm not suffering from something already!! If it's started this early im doomed!!

BabynameEdie · 22/05/2018 23:33

@Olivecake me too, I'm 4+5 and don't really have any symptoms. I feel something is 'there' but no sickness, no sore boobs (well, v occasionally) and other than tiredness I feel the same. I too am trying to remember when I had symptoms last time, and think it was from week 5-6 onwards but can't quite remember. Also that ended in MC so perhaps not good to go by! It's really hard. Have you had any symptoms?
