Haha yes @MagicalCreatures - though the sonographer did start off repeatedly saying 'from this angle there's one baby... and this angle... was it a natural conception?' So I was totally preparing myself for her to announce there was a second one! I think poor DH was a little disappointed as he wanted twins. I'm only 5 foot 2 and my DS was huge so I wasn't quite as sad!

Poor you @Cakelaur having such a gorgeous pup and feeling sick around him! I read somewhere it peaks between 8-10 weeks so hopefully yours will end soon...

Primrose16 · 14/05/2018 08:15

I have just been sick. I’m sick daily without fail. And queasy for 60% of the day! Had my first pregnancy sick day last Friday. I keep thinking it must be a good sign as my last 2 failed pregnancies I wasn’t sick. I was driving to pick up my Mum the other day, so much pink blossom was swirling around the road infront of me- like loads. I thought to myself it’s another girl. I looked at my daughter in the mirror and said awww do you want a sister. She said no 😂 of course at 17 months she doesn’t have a clue what I was asking- it was just funny.

Primrose16 · 14/05/2018 17:27

I still haven’t booked my booking app with the midwife yet. Still not ready, but equally I know I can’t leave it much longer! I’m 7.4 weeks today.

MagicalCreatures · 14/05/2018 19:28

@Primrose16 haha that’s finny with your little girl. I look for signs all the time. I’m convinced I’m having a boy. I had a dream the night before where I was breastfeeding a baby boy (obviously mine) that I’d just bought home from the hospital.
You should definitely get your appt booked in. Have you had an appt for your 12 week Scan yet x

Primrose16 · 14/05/2018 19:55

@MagicalCreatures no that gets arranged on my booking appointment- which I’m scared to arrange. I couldn’t bare cancelling it if the worse would happen. I know I need to do it but so so scared.
I knew I was having a girl, we didn’t find out as I wanted my hubby to announce the sex not a person I didn’t know. I had a dream I was pushing around a pink pushchair before I found out I was pregnant- I hate pink so found the dream so strange. Then when I told my boss I was pregnant when I was 6 weeks, she said to me it’s a little girl in there and evertything will be fine this time. I completely believe dreams have some hidden messages

Wiggle4 · 15/05/2018 06:42

So nice to hear all the good news on scans! Good luck to those with them coming up! I don't know how I'm going to get through to 12 weeks without peeking inside there again! Trying not to stress or worry too much but it just seems so long!
So I'm 9+3 today and yesterday went to a family funeral, when we got home my DH said 'you know you're showing don't you?' Anyone else feel like they're showing this early? (I know it's bloat but it's also fairly obvious as I'm quite small naturally!)

Cakelaur · 15/05/2018 07:54

So I've had 2 scans so far, one at 6 and one at 8+4. Next one is the nuchal 12 week. Am I CRAZY for wanting to book a 10 week?? I'm quite calm now and not too panicked. But it will certainly ease the wait til 12 weeks. My scan is 3 weeks today. And I was thinking I could do one in a week and a half! 🙈 OH is easy either way. I know my mum would love to come (cos I think we can only take one into the room with us for nhs scan) talk to me ladies. Opinions?

Daffodil77 · 15/05/2018 08:03

@cakelaur we had one yesterday at 6+3. (All good, in right place this time with a heartbeat - massive relief even if only temporary). My dh said we can have as many private scans as we feel we'll need. I suspect my 12 scan will be slightly earlier as I have long cycles. We're having another at 9 weeks to bridge the gap. You just have to do what is right for you. If the reassurance is worth more than the cost, you've got your answer.

MagicalCreatures · 15/05/2018 08:18

Cakelaur my DH says the same. He’s happy for as many scans as we need.
The only thing I worried about was it causing harm to the baby but there’s no evidence to suggest it does.
I had one at 6+4 and I’m going to book one for 9-10 and then I’ve got my 12 week Scan bang on 12. I would have had one every week if money wasn’t much of a concern.

Primrose16 · 15/05/2018 08:45

Check groupon, wowcha and similar places. I often see scans on offer on there 👍🏻

xLeanne128 · 15/05/2018 09:48

I'm 8+3 today had 2 scans so far and my 12 week scan isn't until 13 weeks which is making me mad inside haha just want to keep checking it's ok and safe in there. My worry is now turning to the nuchal scan and praying all is ok and healthy. Still have no symptoms at all but was sick yesterday morning, no urge no feeling just suddenly sick when walking the dog, that was fun! It's nice to come on here and we all understand what eachother is going through xx

kaytees · 15/05/2018 12:37

@Wiggle4 hope you're ok after funeral - can be tough normally but I found funerals really hard when preg! And yes I am definitely showing and only 7 weeks, though it's my second. Desperately wanting to get to next scan before telling school but don't think I'll manage (what do I wear to hide it?!)

@Cakelaur you are absolutely not crazy. If you can have extras then I say go for it - it is SUCH a long wait for that 12 week scan, if you want that reassurance then have it. I am definitely tempted for another, even though my 12 week one is booked for when I'll be 11!

Wiggle4 · 15/05/2018 15:53

@kaytees I'm ok thank you but you're right, I was much more emotional at the funeral than I would usually have been as not really a close relative! Ah phew! My first was still born at 24 weeks so I guess my body is acting as a second pregnancy would and showing already. I've seen a few glances at my belly at work but just think people don't want to ask-which works for me! I wear lots of flowy shirts usually which hide it well haha

kaytees · 15/05/2018 16:39

@Wiggle4 I know I've said before but I'm so sorry you had to go through that - just so awful. I guess you're right though, your body is just going through the 'second pregnancy' thing.

If no one is asking that's a plus I suppose - I'm a couple of weeks behind you and hoping no one at my work asks. I usually wear more fitted things so am struggling, might have to get onto the floaty tops!

peachesarenom · 15/05/2018 19:42

I think I've had enough of intrusive scans. I might have some extra when you get to the 4D ones externally.

I have told most colleagues and kids at school they have all been super sweet!

Wiggle4 · 15/05/2018 20:59

Thank you again @kaytees. Only my head teacher knows at work and she's very discreet. Everyone I work with knows exactly what we went through last time as I was so far along before we knew anything was wrong so I don't think they'd ask for fear of being wrong.

@cakelaur definitely go for extras if you can. I'm going to try to get through to the 12 weeks without but it does seem so far away!

Patienceofatoddler · 16/05/2018 14:52

Tentatively joining if that's ok.

Can't quite believe the last fortnight.

Just took another cheap test as have no symptoms at all.

Apparently I'm 4 weeks 5 days.

Would make DD 18th January big as both previous pregnancies were Cholestasis ones from 19 then 17 weeks respectively I fully expect to be induced (36 weeks with my first and 36 and 6 with my 2nd).

Feeling so nervous!

Not told anyone not even my mum who is a midwife and whom has been a ware of our recent struggles.

YES @Patienceofatoddler what a lovely dark line!!!

OP posts:
kaytees · 16/05/2018 18:20

That's a very strong line @Patienceofatoddler - congrats!!!

Is anyone else starting to get cravings they just didn't see coming? With DS I craved all the unhealthy things (crisps and pizza mainly!) and at the moment I cannot get enough of fresh or tinned fruit, it's so odd...

Patienceofatoddler · 16/05/2018 19:09

@Cakelaur thank you.

Still in disbelief to be honest. Complete disbelief.

Patienceofatoddler · 16/05/2018 19:11

Thank You @kaytees

I havnt but mainly as I've had horrendous d and v courtesy of a Center Parcs holiday this weekend Sad

In previous pregnancies I crazed oranges - I'm surprised my daughter didn't come out orange!

Primrose16 · 16/05/2018 19:15

@kaytees maybe a girl if you are craving sweet stuff.
I didn’t get cravings with my daughter, I was gutted I hoped that I would crave something strange and get my hubby to drive at stupid o clock to get it 😂

Cakelaur · 16/05/2018 19:43

Mine is 🍅 I eat a pack of them a day! And fruit. My breakfast this morning!

@Cakelaur that looks so delicious!! And very very healthy, I'm impressed!

@Primrose16 I do wonder if it's a girl. It's only early days of course but I haven't felt quite as rough as I did with DS and the total lack of interest in salty foods has thrown me. Was (not so secretly) hoping I would fancy roast chicken crisp sandwiches again...

MagicalCreatures · 16/05/2018 20:04

I was really hoping I’d get a weird craving too. Just so I can experience every little weird and wonderful thing about pregnancy.
But so far I’ve not had a particular craving for one thing.
I seem to crave random things and different things every day.
If I think about food I just wanna throw up (though still haven’t yet) but I get a taste for one thing. Today it was cooked beef slices. I just ate a whole pack.
The other day it was fruit.
Then loads of French dressing on salad and other hot and flavoursome foods.
Salt and vinegar crisps was another day.
Is this odd?????
