Beck1988 · 11/05/2018 14:38

So happy for you @cakelaur xx

Athers666 · 11/05/2018 18:20

Just catching up on the thread. I'm so so sorry Martydog, there are just no words. It's just so unfair. I hope you find peace x

Athers666 · 11/05/2018 18:21

@cakelaur Lovely scan picture xx

kaytees · 11/05/2018 18:26

@Cakelaur was thinking of you today - what a lovely bean! So glad all went well. Love the idea of carrying it round!!

Hoping my scan in the morning goes just as well!

Maggi85 · 11/05/2018 20:52

@SpongeBobGrannyPants my son would’ve been due in May also feel a lot of conflicting emotions about it about being pregnant again so soon and hopeful that things work out this time xxx

Cakelaur · 11/05/2018 21:04

Good luck @kaytees I'm sure your bub will be perfect! 🤞🏻

Lovely scans! Congratulations!

@Maggi85 It's hard isn't it, we just have to have hope. Nothing will take away the love we have for the children we lost though. Thanks

MagicalCreatures · 12/05/2018 00:31

@kaytees good luck for your scan. Will be thinking of you!! X x x

peachesarenom · 12/05/2018 09:08

Congrats Cakelaur that's great news. My scan also went well but they wouldn't give me a pic. Be careful to crop your scan photos, I can see your name and hospital!

Cakelaur · 12/05/2018 09:14

@peachesarenom aww so glad your scan went well. I was in such a state they had to give me a photo!! I wouldn't have left the room without it!! Haha. Yeah I realised I hadn't cropped it out after I posted. Not too fussed. I'm on a Facebook group with loads of ladies off here so there's more info on there!! Haha. How are you? Are you feeling more calm now having seen bub? X

I was so happy. I think I wasn't really believing it was real because of what happened last time. I was just ignoring it but now it really does feel real.

I'm a teacher and I came back from the scan and just told my form and my colleagues! They have all been super sweet, I was quite flattered. Apparently, my mc had been a rumour in the school, eventhough it should have been kept quiet so I think they were super happy Smile

I had my loss at 11 weeks prolly due to food poisoning so I'm a bit nervous about getting through that mark this time. Any special dates for you?

kaytees · 12/05/2018 10:07

Thanks guys - scan was all good! 6+2, so technically due in January but I know it'll be December as the birth has to be quite medicalised and midwife said it'll be December. Saw a heartbeat and feeling very very relieved! X

Cakelaur · 12/05/2018 11:46

@peachesarenom I'm so pleased for you babe. Such a relief. It still hasn't sunk in. I'm finally starting to believe I might have a baby in my arms around Xmas. Up until the scan I refused to talk about it in real life. And i just didn't believe it would be good news. I walked into the scan room and burst into tears. I couldn't hold the fear in any more. But they scan ladies were amazing and so reassuring and took the time to point out everything and the brain, the spine, the heart, the arms and legs, the bum. Haha. It was all wriggling around and everything. Honestly the best day of my life. My last one never made it to this point so I'm feeling pretty hopeful. Although until 12 weeks I won't really believe it.

@kaytees so happy for you too babe. Such a great day for everyone!! I'm pleased you've have some reassurance. Sounds like the birth is gonna be a well organised machine. Hopefully it all goes smoothly! 🤞🏻

Argh I’m so stressed ladies. It’s my sister in laws hen doo in June. They decided against a spa which is good, now it’s afternoon tea. No one knows and I’m not prepared to tell her chief bridesmaid who is organising it. But she sent the menu and in my queasy state it sounds gross- and salmon which is still a bit of a unsure thing to eat when pregnant. She prob thinks I’m being awkward as I’m asking for another menu. It’s a lot of money to waste not to eat. I’m getting so stressed

Cakelaur · 12/05/2018 23:05

Can you tell her you're allergic to salmon??

OP posts:
MagicalCreatures · 13/05/2018 09:52

@Primrose16 yeh like Cakelaur said. I don’t eat fish at all, ever, so I’d have to say no to that. I’m sure there’s other people out there that are the same.
When is the hen do. If it’s still quite a way away then you may feel different (about the other bits that make you feel queasy) as you will be out of the first trimester. X

Primrose16 · 13/05/2018 15:00

I just told her that I wont eat fish bits (and egg 🤢, not a egg mayo fan) no reply 🙈. I just don’t want to be a pain- but it’s a lot of money if I won’t eat, she must have picked the most expensive afternoon tea ever. It’s 20th June, so hoping queasy sicky stage gone. But not hopeful as I was sick up to 22 weeks with my daughter.

peachesarenom · 13/05/2018 18:48

Oh congrats kaytees why does the birth have to be medicalised? I think mine might due to BMI.

Cakelaur I really believe I'm pregnant now!

MagicalCreatures and Primrose16 I'm suffering badly on the sickness front. I've had enough. My life long fear of throwing up is not helping.

kaytees · 13/05/2018 19:11

@peachesarenom you poor thing - the sickness is no joke! So exhausting. I hope yours is short lived and at least if you've told some people at school they might be kinder to you!

When I had DS I had a not ideal delivery (he had shoulder dystocia and I had a horrible tear) so we were told in our debriefing that any future children would almost certainly be c section. I have mixed feelings about it but have resigned myself to the fact that I don't really want to cause any further damage or any risk to baby!

peachesarenom · 13/05/2018 19:17

Oh I see kaytees. I hope your tear has healed well. It is the thing I'm most frightened of.

kaytees · 13/05/2018 19:42

If it helps @peachesarenom it honestly wasn't that bad - I mean technically it was but in the newborn haze I didn't much notice the pain! My only 'advice' would be that if it does happen, try to sit on something comfortable and get a good physio x

MagicalCreatures · 13/05/2018 20:20

@kaytees forgot to say, so pleased your scan went well. Obviously only 1 in there for you too 😂

@peachesarenom I’ve been really lucky so far (won’t speak too soon though) I’ve never been sick in any of my pregnancies. This is as far as I’ve got though. Don’t know if it’s coz I’ve got a strong stomach (I’m rarely ever sick anyway)
But I do feel like I have a constant hangover. I always feel hungry yet the thought of food makes me feel sick. Yet when it touches my lips I scoff it like an animal 😂

Cakelaur · 13/05/2018 21:53

@peachesarenom I feel you on the sickness!!! It's constant! If I'm not being sick I'm nauseous! I'm dreading tomorrow. First proper day back at work in a month!!!
Plus my puppy still makes me sick!! 🤢🐶
