Argh!

I am 41+2 today with dC2, Dc1 was born 41+3 so it looks as though my second is going to be later than my first as I don't feel like I am anywhere near labour even though I am ready to pop!

I am mahoosive and Soo uncomfortable.

Anyone else want to join me in this horrible limbo land!

Me!! 40 + 2 with dc2, unbelievably fed up! Found everything much harder second time round- I am ready for this little one to make an appearance but doesn’t look like it’ll happen any time soon!

Namechangemum100 · 10/04/2018 11:10

It's so frustrating isn't it! I was sure this baby would be earlier than my first but nooooo, my womb is obviously very comfortable.

I am so exhausted as DD is only 14 months, I just want to meet dC2 now and get on with things!

40+2 here, first baby. I've been feeling really pissed off and impatient, but now feel bad that you're a week further down the line OP!

Everyone in my family has given birth early - me and siblings born at 34 and 36 weeks, all cousins before 40 weeks, DH was born on his due date and his siblings at 39 weeks, so I really expected to have had it by now!

Baby is only 1/5 engaged and I've had no signs - no show, no BH...but in the last week I've started to feel really huge and uncomfortable and lots of new stretchmarks have popped up! Really don't want an induction either. Argh.

melonthehippo · 10/04/2018 11:57

My first was born at 41+ 5, after induction, so like op, I was hoping this one would be sooner- really, really don’t want to be induced Sad

El1995 · 10/04/2018 12:46

Yup! 40+3, everything hurts, rolling over in bed is agony, standing up is agony, as of a few days ago my lower back and groin are making me kinda waddle! Heartburn is grossly uncomfortable 🤢 Ready to evict this Bubba!

twobambinos · 10/04/2018 15:23

Awe op sorry to hear you are fed up. My 2nd was a whole week later than my first.. Both were overdue. But the 2nd labour came out of no where I was given my date to come in for induction and didn't make it to then. So hopefully when It kicks off it moves fast and you could still go today making it earlier than your first. Best of luck everyone for the big day.

Namechangemum100 · 10/04/2018 16:32

@twobambinos oh I do hope this is true...I am utterly fed up now. Come out come out come ouuuuuuuutttt!

I had not so much as a twinge until Labour actually started so you just never know.

melonthehippo · 10/04/2018 17:08

Had a show and some twinges after vigorous cleaning today- could still be ages though! Fingers crossed and good luck to you all Smile

Namechangemum100 · 10/04/2018 18:12

Good on you for managing some cleaning, hopefully you are a go soon!

40+5 today! Uncomfortable and tired after bad night. First sweep booked for later today. Will see what happens. First baby so all new to me!

harrietm87 · 11/04/2018 10:19

@Cakeandmarshmallows good luck with the sweep! I've got mine at 12.30. Also first baby here - hope it works!

melonthehippo · 11/04/2018 10:46

My midwife told me that If a sweep is going to work it will work within 48h, not sure how true that is! Good luck both, I have a second one scheduled tomorrow if nothing else happens Smile

Cakeandmarshmallows · 11/04/2018 13:20

Head not engaged enough yet for sweep so got second one booked next week and booked for induction at end of next week!! Need to get baby moving before that!! Long walks, curry, moving about a lot, birthing ball bouncing etc here I come! Feeling bit fed up now!

Cakeandmarshmallows · 11/04/2018 13:21

@melonthehippo how did yours go?

harrietm87 · 11/04/2018 14:27

@Cakeandmarshmallows just had mine. Cervix still closed so she couldn't do a proper sweep, just had a bit of a rummage around in there! Bishops score of 1. I've got another booked in for next week, but hope I go naturally before then.

Namechangemum100 · 11/04/2018 14:46

41+4 today...dC2 is now officially later than my first 😭
Feeling incredibly tired, luckily dh came home from work to take over looking after our 14 month old so I could have a lie down.

Have been offered a sweep but rejected it, however have a midwife appointment tomorrow and may have to reconsider as I definitely do not want an induction.

Namechangemum100 · 11/04/2018 15:02

Actually that should say 41+3...I'm getting ahead of myself!

OP posts:
melonthehippo · 12/04/2018 10:24

How are you doing @namechange? Any signs? I just had my second sweep this morning, 2cm dilated, very soft but still posterior. Not as promising as I was hoping for but oh well. Got another booked for Tuesday, and then induction next Friday, gah! Hope everyone is okay!

PastramiAndRye · 12/04/2018 10:39

I'm 40+2 today with baby no.3. Feeling irrationally pissed off with all the people who said I'd never make it to 40 weeks with a third child.

Have had two failed sweeps and a section booked for Tuesday. Was really hoping to go into labour naturally before then as I can't have pessaries for induction due to a previous section.

My two other DDs are off nursery/playgroup for Easter and the rubbish weather has us all climbing the walls!

Namechangemum100 · 12/04/2018 11:03

Still pregnant here! 41+4 😭
Have given in to a sweep this morning, cervix is open, although not suprising considering it's my second.
I'm apparently ripe and ready so really really hoping it's going to happen soon!

Namechangemum100 · 12/04/2018 11:53

Thank you@melon... fingers crossed ds will be making his arrival very soon!

I'm starting to feel seriously demoralised. 40+4 today, first baby. It's only 2/5 engaged and everything I've read online says a first baby should engage 2 weeks before labour. I'm worried my body is a weird shape or something and stopping the baby descending, and that I'm destined for a failed induction that's going to end in an EMCS. I've tried everything and can't get it to move lower. Feeling pretty sorry for myself!

ForeverHopeful21 · 12/04/2018 15:08

@harrietm87 a first baby should engage 2 weeks before labour

This is worrying me! I'm 39+2 and have been told that baby isn't engaged yet. I thought head could engage just before labour???
I can't cope with the idea of being pregnant for another 2+ weeks!
