Spotting during early pregnancy?

I'm 6 weeks tomorrow and have been spotting brown discharge for a week now. After 2 days I went to a&e because of previous ectopic. I was given a scan and ectopic ruled out, but spotting has continued. It is very light and can only be seen when I wipe. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if it's quite normal. I'm terrified of another MC.

@maedoula they said just to check what’s Happening, probably to have another scan to check everything’s ok. I didn’t think it was anything serious because it’s been happening for so long and obviously I’ve seen a heartbeat now! Have you had a scan yet? Maybe mention it to them x

Maedoula · 11/04/2018 11:10

@natashaarr I see, yeah I suppose it may have been routine for them to want to check up. My scan is booked for next week Thursday, I been considering trying to get an earlier scan because I can't bear the wait 😫 it's like torture! X

I'm still spotting I wish it would stop 🙄

natashaarr · 11/04/2018 16:30

@maedoula the weight is horrible isn’t it! I don’t know how I’m going to go from 6weeks 4 days do 12 weeks without a scan! Just keep busy, it should take your mind off it. Just think the further away your scan is the more you’ll be able to see!

@lmj25 oh no! I haven’t had it for a few days but I know it won’t be long. Especially where I’m off work for 2 weeks so being really lazy but when I go back to work it’ll start! X

Lmj25 · 11/04/2018 16:43

I'm the same on and off but I've had 2 scans now and heartbeat has been found both times and baby's grown so think I'm just gunna have to accept that that's how this pregnancy is going to be lol x

Maedoula · 11/04/2018 17:17

@natashaarr Yes it is horrible indeeed! And yes omg 6 weeks is ages but now you've seen heartbeat it's a good sign that you can rest up and don't have to worry too much!xx

@Lmj25 You too Hun. Seeing heartbeat is a great sign that things are going well so don't worry about the spotting xx

Had a call off of my doctor had swabs taken last week and it seems I've a bit of an infection going on antibiotics so maybe that was the reason I've been having spotting x

natashaarr · 11/04/2018 20:19

@maedoula it is a long time isn’t it!! I know I shouldn’t worry but I just can’t help it :(

Lmj25 ahh fingers crossed! That would explain it. I had my midwife appointment today and she picked up a UTI but my kidneys have been hurting so hopefully my doctor prescribes some antibiotics as it’s so painful :( xx

Hi ladies, I am also 6wks+3 and been having mild light pink spotting every day for the last week. Its not a lot at all, which I know is common but have had 2 MC and am petrified of a 3rd. Having a scan next weds, can't come soon enough!
Really helpful to read this thread of current people having the same thing and see it is common and can have happy endings, those heartbeats are so precious to see!
Wishing you all luck xx

natashaarr · 12/04/2018 10:47

@jmfw I really wouldn’t worry (I know it’s impossible) but I had light pink spotting and cried so much as I’ve had 3 mcs and I thought this was the end, I thought I’d wake up in a pool of blood. However it never turnt red and has been happening for such a long time, as you’ve probably seen I’ve had my scan and can see a heartbeat so I think it’s just where your bodies moving around and preparing. Atleast you have a scan booked in, at this point you should be able to see a heart beat too!

My fingers are crossed for you xx

jmfw34 · 12/04/2018 12:14

Thanks @natashaarr, really glad I found the thread as the constant worry is hard and it's even harder to find people close to me who understand without thinking I am crazy! Your scan looks perfect and gives me hope, just need to take it a day at a time x

jmfw34 · 12/04/2018 12:15

@Maedoula thinking of you and your scan today x

Maedoula · 12/04/2018 12:54

@jmfw34 scan is next week Thursday Hun, but thanks for thinking of me. Will keep you guys posted x

Sorry, I didn't read the posts and dates properly! Roll on next week Wink x

natashaarr · 12/04/2018 22:09

@jmfw I agree not many people do understand unless they’ve been through it.

Spottings started again after a few days off, symptoms have seemed to of stopped too. I only had my scan 2 days ago and I’m already panicking :(

jmfw34 · 13/04/2018 06:31

It's so hard to not panic! Nothing will truly stop the panicking until you hear a heartbeat with the Doppler at a midwife appt or another scan. After that it will be waiting for kicks to reassure yourself instead, the constant anxiety is exhausting Confused I bet you are constantly talking yourself down from the ledge at the moment, I always laugh at how sane I must look on the outside and how crazy my thought process is in the inside! This forum is gold as it allows me to unleash the crazy Grin
You now know there's a logical reason for your spotting (the UTI right?) - did they give you antibiotics? And there is the golden rule - unless it's really painful or bright red, don't worry...(of course we all do anyway...). Xx

natashaarr · 13/04/2018 11:38

@jmfw34 I’ll be buying a Doppler and checking all the time I think that’s how crazy I will be 😱 they haven’t prescribed me antibiotics yet I haven’t heard back from my GP. I’m not sure if they’re linked though, as now I have a weird colour discharge (sorry, tmi Blush)

I’m the same it’s great to unleash the crazy haha! I’ve been quite open with my feelings and how nervous I am and everything and I just get told not to panic but I can’t help it!

Yes they said that and it isn’t red, heavy or painful so I shouldn’t worry!! X

natashaarr · 16/04/2018 21:03

The spottings back and is red blood, I’m really worried :(

Mooana · 16/04/2018 23:30

Blarg spotting in early pregnancy, what a nightmare; as if things weren’t anxiety-inducing enough!

I had spotting at 5 weeks and again at 9. Went to EPU at midwife’s Advice today and had my private parts thoroughly prodded, swabbed and poked! Scan booked for Thursday (9 + 4). Bleeding has worsened this afternoon, but I’m hoping that’s all the prodding... (certainly no dignity in pregnancy!)

I’ve no idea what to expect on Thursday. It’s very hard not knowing whether to prepare for the worst or to hope for the best! Either way, I’ll just be very glad for some certainty I think.

How’re you all getting on?

Lmj25 · 17/04/2018 04:47

Howrev you @natashaarr has it stopped? I've not had any touch wood since I started on my antibiotics. Thinking of you all roll on 12 week scan 😫

Maedoula · 17/04/2018 08:01

@natashaarr Don't panic Hun, it doesn't always mean something bad. Is there a lot, like as much as a period or more?

OP posts:
Maedoula · 17/04/2018 08:02

@Mooana Yes it can be quite irritating everyone prodding and poking. Hopefully all will be ok with your little bean, has bleeding stopped or still continuing x

OP posts:
jmfw34 · 17/04/2018 12:05

@natashaarr how are you? Easy to say but try not to worry, get on the phone to GP or midwife and get seen by someone. There are so many things it could be at this point and it isn't all bad as lots of women have proof of. Also not sure what you do for work but everyone always says to rest and put your feet up even if you feel fine other than the spotting, so rest if you can until you can get checked out. Xx

natashaarr · 17/04/2018 14:51

@lmj25 that’s such good news! Was it an infection? Did you have an unpleasant smell? I think mines an infection :(

@maedoula no it wasn’t like a period and didn’t go into a pad last night so I guess it’s just like spotting :( I know I think I was so tired and worried last night it just all got too much, I’m a lot more positive today.

@jmfw thank you, I’m going to ring the midwife and speak to her and see what she suggests as the gp has no appointments. I’m a nanny but luckily I have this week off work so I’ve been putting my feet up and been taking advantage of it, the poor housework and OH, he understands though and has been doing most of it for me!

Xx

Lmj25 · 17/04/2018 15:12

Yes it was an infection still on antibiotics for it didn't notice a smell though xx
