@dkb definatley get out for a coffee today even for half an hour. It’s horrid seeing them under treatment but it’s definatley the right thing and will help.

Due 14th April came 23rd March planned section.

I was so nervous about the section but it wasn’t as bad as I thought. It was so relaxed being elective. Everyone was so chilled I kept panicking and asking so many questions and was getting frustrated how they was so laid back but I see why as was all normal. They are really good in theatre too and make you feel calm and relaxed.

Due date: 9th April

Planned section date: 11th April due to baby in breech.

Thanks @Bez9087, I have read a lot about sections and there are so many positive birth stories. I have been a little alarmed by all the horror birth stories people seem to delight in telling me in person, it's good to read some positive experiences. I'm very new to Mumsnet but I've really found threads like this helpful.

Was due 15th April (partner and I calculated 19th to be much more likely though in terms of dates though) but came early on the 27th March.

Thanks guys. Managed to get 4 hours sleep last night and I've never thought I'd say this but I feel like I have that bit more energy just from a few hours rest. I got all really good feeds throughout the night with little to no help from midwife and a good improvement on the blood test at midnight - next test at noon but I'm not gonna hold my breath and instead will continue as if we'll be here till tomorrow night as originally warned. I've figured out how to keep her settled on the mat which takes a lot of stress off me. Think I just needed a reality check that even though 37 weeks is considered full term by most, she's still got a lot to grow and catch up on and that will mean a much longer hospital stay.

GlitterRollerSkate · 29/03/2018 09:11

Oh wow congratulations to all the new arrivals! Very jealous!! Smile

@Strongarms27 I'm not quite as bad I'm having my elective 4 days before my due date. Was hoping it would be the week before!

Baby's growth is dropping so the consultant threw the 10th out there. But there are no slots near me until the 20th! So now I have to go in to be monitored twice a week. Doppler weekly and another scan in 2 weeks. I am terrified something is going to happen!

Update: c-section date has been moved to the 4th April. Really pleased and excited to think she will be here this time next week! Smile

Bez9087 · 29/03/2018 10:28

@rockabyebaby I know what you mean. The girls are classed as full term for twins from 36 weeks but at 36+6 isobelle needed scbu and I remember saying how I wish I had waited an extra week etc and she was really nice and told me even full term at 40 weeks weighing 7/8lb babies can still need it for same reason. Also what day are you on? Day 3 for me I had a full emotional breakdown how I had cried over isobelle being in scbu all Friday and Saturday and yet Sunday night Monday morn I asked mw to take her as she just wouldn’t settle and then felt incredibly guilty I had asked them to take her. She said day 3/4 when hormones are rife and make you so emotional etc we are day 6 today and starting to get there. I’m still teary at most things etc but the hormones are slowly calming down thank god.

emvy · 29/03/2018 11:23

I’ve not been on since the beginning as I felt I might jinx things 🙈 I think I joined after my 12 week scan.

Bez, rockabyebaby, and dkb you’re all doing amazingly. Never feel guilty for the choices you make as a mama - you are doing the right thing and these choices are made in yours and baby’s best interests. I hope those of you still in hospital get home to home comforts soon 😘

Just been to my last (or I hope ) growth scan. Everything seems ok tho I think he’s measuring 1–1.5 weeks ahead but at this stage you can barely know. I’m annoyed tho as she refuses to tell me the approx weight and also didn’t print the graphs on the report. I know it’s stipid but it’s the only actual visual thing I’ve got to see he’s growing big so was looking forward to that. Good news is that she couldn’t get properly the head measurements as he’s quite down! Cmon baby don’t keep me waiting !

@WonderfullySunny waving back :)

So nice to hear of people on the other side.. with beautiful babies in their lives. I'm getting obsessed with my baby's position... he moved 2 night ago and I think dropped more into the pelvis... my partner is going away for work for a couple of days and its making me panic somewhat. I know the chances are slim but every ache I'm terrified might be early labour!! Crossing those legs beat I can!!

julia02 · 29/03/2018 14:34

Congratulations to all of you new mama!
I'm 29. Waiting for a girl and due 21April.
Today, I got very boring... How exist that kind of people. I was shopping on Sainsbury's. A old lady was trying to help me by recommanding some comfortable bra. When she saw that I was pregnant, asked how many months prego I am. I'm at last month' I said. 'Wow, you look so tiny!!! 😱😱😱 My daughter is on last month and her belly is huge!!!'
I felt very bad. I have done everything for this pregnancy to be perfect after 3 msc. And now I have to get stressed if everything will be fine till the end 😖😖😖

rosegarden45 · 29/03/2018 14:39

@amysaurus we are the same!!

Pumpkinma · 29/03/2018 15:23

Thanks for all the well wishes lady's ☺️

I've been so lucky got discharged last night had a lovely first night at home. She woke up twice to feed and settled of lovely again and we've just had midwife round to check and we are both doing absolutely fine. Literally can't stop staring at her 😍

@dkb15164 I really hope little Heather doesn't have to be on there too long and you can get home soon. Definitely get that coffee and lots of cake!

Hope everyone else is doing well too

Loosemoose28 · 29/03/2018 17:02

@julia02 brush her comments aside.

Pregnancy seems to invite comments about everything. Oh your big, oh your small, oh baby might come early, oh bet you will go
over due your carrying high.

I am sure your bump is just perfect Flowers

julia02 · 29/03/2018 19:55

Thank you @ Loosemoose28 😍

TexanInBristol · 29/03/2018 20:38

Well, that wasn't the day I was expecting!

I had my blood taken yesterday with my community midwife, because my feet have been itching like crazy the last few days.

Then I had a phone call this morning, asking me to go into the hospital for another blood test - this time without eating. I got there at 10 and didn't leave until 6 this evening!

End result is that I've been diagnosed with obstetric choleostasis and am probably going to be induced in the next couple of weeks (I'm 36+4). It's not at all what we were planning but I guess it's most important that baby is fine.

There's an increased risk of still birth with CO so am trying my absolute hardest not to panic and to focus on the fact that our little lady is going to be here so soon!

The emotions are high and hormones are raging. I've had a super easy pregnancy up until now so am really not used to this feeling!

Cloudwalk · 29/03/2018 20:45

Joined very early on and been an avid follower (especially now mat leave has commenced)

Massive congratulations to all those with babies in their arms and those still holding out plodding through every day!

DaisyLand · 29/03/2018 20:49

@texasinbristol sorry to hear about your bloods. Think that if it was so dangerous they’d induce you ASAP rather than in the next few weeks.
Wish you all the best

@Teeeee that's a good sign feeling movement downwards, I keep telling myself as it's the first one labour will be ages so at least if there's no signs for you yet am sure DH will be home before little one arrives My bump is still wedged up under lungs, I'm looking forward to them dropping to be fair just so it makes breathing easier again!
@TexanInBristol sorry to hear you've had unexpected news, as you say it may be different to what you expected but as long as baby arrives and you're both ok that's the main thing. I had something similar, was told the other day I tested positive for strep B so am on antibiotics now and have to have an IV drip during labour, not ideal as it limits my movements but when reading up on it can make baby seriously ill/death so small price to pay!

DaisyLand · 30/03/2018 06:44

@wonderfullysummy I’ve got that bacteria as well but not on antibiotics yet. I was told only needed when in labour (I tested positive when I was 32w) and that the drip is only 30mins so not to worry about restricted movements
