Arguments over pink pram!

So I am either going to get icandy or egg but found out the icandy colour I wanted ( butterscotch) is being discontinued so that's left me stranded I don't want a black pram for a girl as I'm girly myself but my partner refuses to push a pink pram? Has anyone else's partner felt the same or is mine just being an arse as usual about decisions? I wanted to go for this one

@TheButterflyOfTheStorms
Honestly what is your problem?

OP posts:
TheButterflyOfTheStorms · 03/03/2018 20:35

I know it feels that way @Summerbaby2018 but it's just how this place is. Off topic, kind of spikey and a bit grumpy. Especially about certain things, pinkifying girls being one of them.

I got my arse handed to me a couple of times when I first posted. But you either get used to it and stay, and get support actually, or you hate it and don't.

Congratulations btw. Babies are bloody lovely no matter what they're wearing! Thanks

X-posted Blush

Steeley113 · 03/03/2018 20:36

@Aspergallus yes because a short, soft cotton dress and tights really restricts a tiny baby’s movement Hmm

DwangelaForever · 03/03/2018 20:38

People in this thread need to sort their own lives out never mind try and lecture OP.

If OP wants a pink pram let her and if PP wants to dress her newborn in a dress let her. It doesn't affect you or your life and you are all coming across as twats for lecturing them over "gender stereotypes" 🙄🙄.

Our society has gotten to the point where mums are shamed for their children liking "stereotypical" things. It makes me sad for the future. Let parents and children chose whatever the #### they want for their own children and go about your business. If you want to raise your child as an ambiguous creature because you don't want to expose them to stereotypes that's fine but I will follow my child's instincts on what they want when they show it!

I also think that men and women do have differences that need to be talked about but that's a post for another time 🙄

@TheButterflyOfTheStorms

thankyou

I can totally understand where your partner is coming from!

But then I'm a woman and I wouldn't have wanted to push a pink pram either!

How about something more neutral eg grey or black, plus it will be easier to keep/look clean...from the photos you put up I'd be worrying about the splatters of dirt to come!Shock

But seriously, there needs to be a bit of a compromise between you both.

Summerbaby2018 · 03/03/2018 20:50

@TurquoiseDress
Hun we have agreed on black icandy and accessorise it with pink or white 💗

TurquoiseDress · 03/03/2018 20:57

Ah nice- good compromise! Smile

Bobbiepin · 03/03/2018 20:59

@hobnobBob I just did the same, and agree whole heartedly. Awful! Gonna pretend to DH I wanna get some to see his reaction.

Someone misunderstood what a chat forum is all about, didn;t they? Hmm

RosemaryHoight · 03/03/2018 21:18

I'm pleased that you have chosen a pram now. I can't believe how expensive they are.

I wouldn't want a pink pushchair in the same way that I wouldn't want a pink handbag or coat.

Your dp will forget about having wanted a boy when he meets your dd.

DwangelaForever · 03/03/2018 21:40

@SnowBusinessLikeSlowBusiness you can chat without lecturing and pushing your thoughts down people's throats, which is what I believe some PPs were doing

affectionincoldclimate · 03/03/2018 21:50

Wouldn't it be fair to say that OP would feel more comfortable at Netmums? Grin

mynameisLuca · 03/03/2018 21:50

oh yes and she should dwangela et al with her!

ChaosAndPiss · 03/03/2018 22:48

I’m the first to dress a girl in girly pink till they rebel, but a pink pram?
Not in a million yearsGrin

RosemaryHoight · 04/03/2018 00:50

Ah ok but don't call me hun.

Flomper · 04/03/2018 01:05

And people still say that “girls are just naturally drawn to pink-nothing to so with stereotyping or conditioning at all.....”hmm

This, with bows on
