Arguments over pink pram!

So I am either going to get icandy or egg but found out the icandy colour I wanted ( butterscotch) is being discontinued so that's left me stranded I don't want a black pram for a girl as I'm girly myself but my partner refuses to push a pink pram? Has anyone else's partner felt the same or is mine just being an arse as usual about decisions? I wanted to go for this one

Pushing a pink pram won't make him less manly Grin

Aprilmightmemynewname · 03/03/2018 14:26

I was tempted to get the pram I had picked in pink for dd - decided at the last minute to get cream..
Ds was born 3 days later!!

INeedNewShoes · 03/03/2018 14:27

I can understand your partner's point of view. I wouldn't want to push a pink pram and I'm a woman. It's probably a bit irrational but the whole pink for a girl thing makes me see red Grin

BakedBeeeen · 03/03/2018 14:28

I am a woman and I wouldn't push a pink pram.

RandomMess · 03/03/2018 14:29

It will get dirty very easily!! Black means you can accessorise easily!!

YTho · 03/03/2018 14:29

I would get a more neutral colour, or one that doesn't show dirt quite as much. But then I've never really liked pink so I'm biased.

thefutureisours · 03/03/2018 14:30

You don't want black, he doesn't want pink. Why is he an arse but you are not? Just pick a different coloured pram.

NickyNora · 03/03/2018 14:30

Dp never pushed the buggy.

DearMrDilkington · 03/03/2018 14:31

I'm a woman and I wouldn't want to push it either.

FogCutter · 03/03/2018 14:31

I wouldn't push a pink pram either, horrid colour imho. I think you need to buy a pram both you and your partner like.

HRTpatch · 03/03/2018 14:31

Pink prams? Dear God.

PositivelyPERF · 03/03/2018 14:32

I must be a man, because I never even liked pink as s child. It’s one of those insipid colours, like baby blue. Actually I don’t like baby blue either. I’m confusing myself.

Let’s put it this way OP, is your DP going to use the fact that it’s pink as an excuse not to push it?

StinkPickle · 03/03/2018 14:32

I'm a woman and wouldn't want to push a pink pram. Garish, loud and tacky.

However if his reason is that a MAN shouldn't push one then HIBU. If his reason is that it's hideous then HIBR!

Parrothead · 03/03/2018 14:32

What’s the problem with black? Also if you are the type of person who thinks pink is for girls and you are planning on having more children someday, it’s silly to buy something that expensive that you wouldn’t use for a boy. Some companies sell replacement color sets but even those can be £100 or more.

Icklepickle101 · 03/03/2018 14:32

How about black with a pink footmuff and seat liner?

DragonsAndCakes · 03/03/2018 14:33

I think you should choose a pram you both like.

HundredMilesAnHour · 03/03/2018 14:33

Pink? Seriously? I'm female and I'd be mortified seeing a pink pram let alone pushing one. Nothing like starting gender stereotyping from birth eh? Sad

Paintingqanda · 03/03/2018 14:33

Egg do one which is black and rose gold?

QueenAravisOfArchenland · 03/03/2018 14:33

I sympathise with him, I can't stand pink. Are you planning to have more kids? Why not get a more neutral colour anyway? If you are both going to be using it this is a fairly straightforward compromise situation.

WTFIsThisVirus · 03/03/2018 14:33

Black is neutral and will go with everything, and hides dirt easily.

lorelairoryemily · 03/03/2018 14:33

I'm a woman and there's no way I'd be seen pushing a pink pram, neither would my husband. Tbh I think it looks quite trashy. Why can't you pink a colour you're both happy with

TheButterflyOfTheStorms · 03/03/2018 14:34

It looks like an enormous marshmallow!

Makingworkwork · 03/03/2018 14:34

Are you planning another child? Would you be happy to push a boy in a pink pram?

I personally don’t like the colour and I think it very impractical as it is too light and will quickly look scruffy.

Summerbaby2018 · 03/03/2018 14:34

Thefutureisours- because he's shouting about it and getting all worked up at me about it when I engage in a general career conversation that's why and the only reason he don't want to push one is because he's embarrassed and ashamed and I personally think that's awful

TooManyMiles · 03/03/2018 14:34

I don't blame him, even though I am a very 'pink' person myself. And what if you go on to have a boy, it will be even more annoying for your DH to be pushing a pink pram.

It will soon look very grubby. Why not have a dark, neutral, colour but get your baby girly clothes, pink toys and pink blankets?
