When did you or do you plan to stop driving?

Mainly as getting uncomfortable (38 weeks)
And also the added fact since mat leave I seem. To be everyone's bloody taxi service and I've had about enough ( I know I need to start telling people to sod off,)

Never. I was still driving up until the day I gave birth both times.
First time we lived in the middle of nowhere and I’d have been bored stuck at home, second time I had a 19 month old who still needed amusing!

Never. It genuinely didn't occur to me not to drive.

When I can't reach the wheel and pedals at the same time.

I was going to stop due to the pain I suffered driving (SPD on crutches) but was diagnosed with gd so had weekly hospital appts. Compared to walking to get the bus the car although painful was a godsend. My DH did the driving when he wasn't at work though.

If I had no pain then I wouldn't have been thinking of giving up iyswim

I live 4 miles away from the nearest village, if I stopped driving I wouldn't have been able to go anywhere including midwife appointments.

I was absolutely fine to drive as well so no reason to stop.

I did start sitting on a puppy pad from about 38 weeks in case my waters broke (they never did until I was in established labour) and my maternity notes lived in the car from about 30 weeks.

Will have to do the same in my current pregnancy as otherwise DC1 will miss out on playgroup etc.

It never occurred to me to stop driving!!

Yeah I'm at the belly touching steering wheel stage, with short legs so cant move seats back lol.

I had to stop driving at 31 weeks. I was pregnant with twins and my feet couldn’t reach the pedals any longer.

I drove myself to hospital the morning of my planned c-section (DH dozed- it's a 45 minute journey) as I knew I wouldn't be driving for a while. I'm also short legged and was absolutely massive!

I didn't. In my first pregnancy, dp couldn't drive, so there wasn't much choice. Second time around he had learned to drive, he did most of the longer drives towards the end. I still preferred driving around town because he went over speed bumps too quickly for my taste!

Never. Drove myself to hospital.

It never occurred to me to stop driving either!

I drove up until 39+2 and he was born 39+5. No reason for not driving in those few days except I didn’t need to go out 😄

I’ve been wondering about this too as I’m super short and have the seat right up to the steering wheel so I can reach the pedals. I don’t think I’ll be able to do that right up to the end!

I didnt stop driving.

I stopped driving at 37 weeks last time, just because I was so uncomfortable! Will see how I go this time round, currently 30 weeks but this pregnancy has been a breeze so far compared to my last! So hoping I can drive up to due date.

I'm only 5'3 and like I said above I was driving until the bitter end apart from the actual journey to the hospital.

Most modern cars have height adjustable seats and adjustable steering wheels, but no one ever adjusts the steering wheels for some reason? Perhaps those of you who are struggling could give it a go and see if it helps?

Yeah there's usually a little lever close to the steering wheel that moves the steering column up and down. My last 4 cars have all had one and two of them were complete bangers!

I didn't stop with any of mine either, I've got quite long legs though so I was able to move the seat back far enough despite being enormous!

In my last pregnancy I think I stopped around 30 weeks as I had gestational diabetes and I was having hypos too often. I was advised by midwife to let Dvla know. Didn’t think it was worth the risk so just stopped driving

I had to stop at about 27 weeks with twins - I couldn't lean forward over the bump far enough to see left and right properly!
