I shall try moving the back rest a bit tomorrow. Didn't think of that.
I won't drive dps car anymore as low and bucket seats that I struggle to get in and out. But will see how long I can go with mine.

Vitalogy · 20/02/2018 05:41

I ended up nearly horizontal Grin

I didn't stop but I stopped doing long journey's alone around 38 weeks. I had a huge bump but very long legs so was lucky

Marmite27 · 20/02/2018 12:00

DH and I were based at the same office last time, and it was high summer when I was heavily pregnant so I made him drive from about 25 weeks.

Don’t plan to stop at all this time.

Chocolatesaveslives · 20/02/2018 12:14

I won't need to stop as I've got loads of room between myself and the steering wheel still (38 weeks preg).

Queenelsarules · 20/02/2018 13:06

I passed my driving test at 38 weeks, dd was born 7 days later!

boldfish · 20/02/2018 13:14

Drove the day before irrc

phoenix1973 · 20/02/2018 13:16

I drove until the end.

NextInLine · 20/02/2018 13:18

About 30 weeks, I had low iron and low blood pressure and was constantly fainting. Wasn’t worth the risk.

GlitterBurps · 20/02/2018 13:24

I didn’t stop. Ended up driving myself to hospital when my waters broke with DS2 as it was the one day we didn’t have anyone on standby to help and couldn’t get a cab for ages Grin

Sidsreadingdiary · 20/02/2018 14:57

I passed my driving test at 38+3 with DC1. I had to stop driving right at the end of my pregnancy with DC2 as I could no longer turn the steering wheel without my bump getting in the way. I have very short legs and I grow my babies big.

halfgirlhalfturnip · 20/02/2018 14:58

Never. Drove myself to hospital in early labour with DC3 contractions 10 mins apart.

ExhaustedAndHormonal · 20/02/2018 16:11

Reclined seat a little today.. It helped thank you. Would hate to be without my car.

Adjust the steering wheel Wink

anotherchangetomyname · 20/02/2018 18:34

I didn't. I gave birth at 37+6, I think I drove at 37+4. I'd had carried on, but I was in early labour which made my SPD really really bad.

Shimmershimmerandshine · 21/02/2018 08:22

All you lucky people with long legs (or compact bumps)

Yep, I had/ have both. Drove right up to day before births at 40+ weeks.

Chienrouge · 21/02/2018 08:23

I’m short and had a pretty huge bump but I never remember having any problems at all! Maybe it’s the model of car? My bump was nowhere near touching the steering week even at 40+6 when I drove to my sweep.

FindingNormal · 21/02/2018 08:35

I drove myself to the hospital to give birth. Short with big bump Glitterball

magratvonlipwig · 21/02/2018 23:38

Drove all the way through and while in labour. DH was laying slabs outside front door.... ran out of cement so i went to fetch some so he didnt have to stop. Wanted it finished before baby arrived...

Babdoc · 21/02/2018 23:45

Drove right to the end with both pregnancies. In fact, I looked for any excuse to drive, as my car seat had such good lumbar support, it was the only place to get my back really comfortable!
The only problem I had was scraping ice off the windscreen - my bump meant I couldn’t reach the centre of the screen.

bellie710 · 23/02/2018 23:38

I drove myself to the hospital to be induced then drove us home the next day after having the baby as DH doesn't drive! I am small and baby was over 10lbs but would never have thought about stopping driving?

faceremovinghairscream · 23/02/2018 23:41

I passed my test 2 days before giving birth so I wouldn't worry! Emergency stops were off the cards though.

Twitchett22 · 24/02/2018 11:09

I'm still driving at 39 weeks, i go mad sat in the house and if dp suggests going out i jump at the chance to drive to give me something to do! I do sometimes have to get dp to check for traffic when I'm pulling out of junctions though, can't lean forward all that well...
