I am currently 40 weeks + 6 and I feel like I have been pregnant forever! I am trying to keep myself motivated and find things to do, but there is a limit! I've bounced on my birthing ball until I can't take it anymore, knitted more booties etc than I ever thought possible, baked about 100 cakes and topped up the freezer and I'm now getting fed up. I am struggling to do certain jobs around the house as I get breathless easily, so I'm finding going out for walk hard too. I keep meaning to invite friends over for coffee, but then get worried if something does kick off! Does anyone have any ideas/tips to keep motivated in what I hope is the last week?! Thank you!

Unfortunately nothing to report Sad but the second sweep did work. I haven't progressed much, so I've been booked for an induction on Sunday so at least I have an end date in mind. Feeling so fed up and disheartened.

@Mortigua, my induction date is a Sunday, but I have to phone up in the morning to see if the have a bed...

Oh no Hannah I was hopeful for you.
So on Sunday what will you be will you less than 42 weeks? Fingers crossed for you it happens before then.
My sweep was quite painful and I'm still not any more dilated than anyone at this point but she did sweep round the baby's head. No cramps or anything though since so not hopeful.

HannahM32 · 16/01/2018 18:58

@Mortigua, I haven't really had any cramps or anything either. Just feeling very uncomfortable. I shall be 41 + 5 as they'll let you go 12 days overdue. Why won't they induce you until 42 weeks? When were you due?

Mortigua · 16/01/2018 19:46

Due last Saturday. Here they say 42 weeks before induction which I'm just so frustrated with as the consultant just didn't seem to care about how impossible this is with the SPD. She also knows I have anxiety and depression and that I'm quite bad now due to this extra time and pain but all I got was suggestion to try nipple stimulation. I've tried every trick in the book and just think it would be better to go with induction at 41 for me but not an option.
Sorry I am feeling so angry with my body and to be honest with the baby for not arriving.

HannahM32 · 16/01/2018 19:55

Where about are you if you don't mind me asking? Bless you, you must be fed up! I've heard about SPD, and by all accounts, looks horrible and very uncomfortable! Flowers I've tried everything I can think of and keep looking for new ways to induce, but part of me has also given up trying. I know how you feel about getting/feeling angry, that's how I've felt a few times!!

Thanks Hannah ,I don't want to say which trust but they aren't famed for good results which makes me really anxious. I wish now I had looked at getting things in place sooner or even changing hospital.
Thank you yes SPD is horrible and seems to have got worse this week so I'm really struggling with normal tasks.
It's hard not to be bitter about it isn't it! Especially as others ( including me for my first ) are in labour at 38 weeks so a full month before!

Mortigua · 16/01/2018 20:04

Not bitter at them just at spending an extra
a month like this compared. I just find I have the anxiety building every day and fe3l trapped. Never again!

HannahM32 · 16/01/2018 21:14

@Mortigua, I know how you feel, other pregnant woman have all had their babies before me, and that frustrated me more than ever!

@thingymaboob, any signs of anything yet?

OP posts:
thingymaboob · 17/01/2018 00:13

@HannahM32 no. No sign.

HannahM32 · 17/01/2018 05:18

Been up since 3am with pains coming every 6 minutes and lasting about 1-2 minutes. Now they've increased to nearly every 3-5 minutes but noticed some bleeding. I hope it's just from my s&s, but that was 18-19 hours ago, and only just started. Feeling a bit emotional and scared.

OP posts:
Mortigua · 17/01/2018 07:16

Hannah that sounds hopeful though! I would ring for advice if you are worried about the bleeding but it may be the bloody show?
I had dark red stuff/brown stringy stuff come out last night after lots of pain.
Also wondering whether it's just bits of plug with blood from my s and s or whether it was the show?? All stopped now though here.

BrutusMcDogface · 17/01/2018 08:02

Ah Hannah, sounds good to me. Hope it continues! I had quite a bit of blood with baby number two and they weren't worried at all; it was just the bloody show. But please ring to be sure!! Flowers

BrutusMcDogface · 17/01/2018 08:04

Mortigua- also sounds as if things are beginning to move for you, too. Good luck! Flowers

Mortigua · 17/01/2018 08:08

Thanks. Dr Google seems to say a bit of blood and mucus is ok with a sweep so I'm worried it's nothing since it's stopp3d now.but fingers crossed .

owltrousers · 17/01/2018 10:37

Sounds like good signs for you ladies!

I was up a lot of last night with V mild contractions every 20 mins mixed with BH yet again. and HEARTBURN my god. I had to get up and take a rennie 3 separate times.

Feeling shite today!

Mortigua · 17/01/2018 10:40

Nothing happening here now. I'm trying to accept that I will probably end up induced and having another 10 days of this but the thought makes me feel desperate !

UnitedKungdom · 17/01/2018 10:48

I declined a sweep yesterday but had a teeny tiny bit of blood last night. I'm booked for induction on the 29th but feeling a little more confident I won't make it to induction after last night.

Mortigua · 17/01/2018 10:59

Hopefully Unitedkungdom! I think blood without the sweep probably means more. I'm getting the occasional bit but not even needing a pad now so have given up and gone back to bed for a bit. Feeling so depressed I don't want to see anyone and while I know i should be being active to give the sweep more of a chance ,i just don't believe it will make a difference .

Serendipper · 17/01/2018 11:17

Can I join in? I'm 40 + 8 today, no signs of anything happening! Had a sweep yesterday and have another booked in tomorrow. Beyond fed up now, need an auto response to everyone who asks if baby is here yet! So disappointed every time I go to bed that it hasn't happened that day and then disappointed every morning that it didn't happen that night. I've got an induction booked for Monday (40+13) but really don't want to be induced!

Mortigua · 17/01/2018 12:01

Serendipper I was talking about an auto response today and in fact did send an early text to one friend as I knew I'd be asked other wise and it's not helping my mood!
What makes it worse is people who I don't even know that well asking!I've been asked for weeks now despite only being 4 days over now and it becomes very annoying however well meaning. I'm finding I hate going out due to comnents ,still here then etc! I'm so grumpy!

Agh that used to annoy me so much, people asking if I'd had the baby yet!! My response was usually "believe me, if I had, you'd know about it!"

BrutusMcDogface · 17/01/2018 16:40

Thinking of you all!

HannahM32 · 18/01/2018 18:13

Just thought you'd all like to know that our little baby arrived on the 17th January at 12.20 in the afternoon weighing 8lb 3oz!
