Sacha for a boy and would you spell it:

Sacha or Sasha?

Would you assume the child to be male or female?

Please be honest!

There's a little boy called Sacha at my toddler group too. I think it's a lovely name, I always smile when I hear his mum calling him

It's gorgeous but no way would I send a little boy to school with it round here. Potential for teasing too high I reckon.

pointydog · 24/04/2007 17:51

I have a russian friend who has a girl Sacha (is also a diminutive of Alexandra) and I know a boy Sasha, I also have a Dutch friend Sasja. Personally I think it is a lovely name, boy or girl.

You lucky thing - I remember they were a bit pricey and I had to make do with Pippa and Sindy. They were only displayed behind glass in our local toy shop.

emankcin · 24/04/2007 20:55

SACHA is a girls name GOOD GRIEF Muriel, is school not hard enough without other children calling him a girl?

Of course then there is the obvious ALI G association.

Disaster!

Gosh, not being a child psychologist i couldn't answer why.

Why do they single out red hair? There is nothing wrong with red hair.
