I'm about 10 weeks!

It can be OK. It happened to me in 2/3 of my pregnancies. Apparently it happens in around 25% of pregnancies so very common but only a small proportion go on to miscarriage. How many weeks are you? With me it was (both times) at around the 7-12 weeks mark. It went on in one of the pregnancies for weeks on end, on and off. I felt so worried.
I hope it is all OK for you. If it continues, a trip to EPU can sometimes be arranged to check all is going as it should xx

Ummmmgogo · 30/12/2017 00:14

I had spotting from 6-10 weeks. she's 5 years old now Smile. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you xx

SandSnakeofDorne · 30/12/2017 00:15

It could be nothing. I had it when I was pregnant with my DD, at about that stage. When I had a miscarriage it was proper blood straight away, getting gradually heavier over a few hours. Try not to panic and if it hasn’t stopped in the morning seek medical advice.

peachesarenom · 30/12/2017 00:20

Thank you so much. I'll update you on the morning xxx

I had that at about the same point with baby 1 and it was just left over blood from implantation and she's 4 now. Don't panic.

FeloniusGru · 30/12/2017 07:10

Easier said than done but try not to panic. I’m 7+4 weeks and had this about a week ago along with some brown spotting and it lasted 5 days. Convinced myself I was losing the baby but couldn’t get into the EPU for a scan due to Christmas so paid for a private scan. Baby fine and saw the heart beating away nicely Smile Funnily enough the spotting stopped after the scan and haven’t had any since. Fingers crossed all is fine for you.

peachesarenom · 30/12/2017 09:33

I just feel like I've been scratched inside my vagina. It happened after some serious diarrhoea.

This morning there is more of it. I'd still call it pink but I'm really upset aboit it. Called the epu they said either wait and see or have an appt, with the bank holiday the earliest they can do is wed morning which is when I'm supposed to be leading something at work so that will go down well! I hope it is ok.

Thank you all for taking the time to post. It has made me feel loads better.

I had it in both pregnancies. I did get it checked both times, but in the 2nd pregnancy I had it on and off for ages...

diddlemethis · 30/12/2017 12:15

I had intermittent bleeding for most of my pregnancy with my DD, who is now 6. Don't panic, and good luck.

peachesarenom · 30/12/2017 21:01

Thanks for all the support.

Seemed to stop all day but is now back 😢. I'll just have to hope for good news at the appt on wed.

I had pink discharge throughout a lot of my early pregnancy - got checked out once but it was nothing and DD was fine.

Thanks for you - it's horrible.

IheartCaptainHolt · 30/12/2017 21:43

I had spotting at 9 to 11weeks on and off. I also had a bright red bleed 12 weeks. It was scary but I rang EPU and they said that if I could get rid of the blood by wiping then they weren't concerned, only if there was so much I couldn't wipe it away.

It was never explained and never happened again. DS is now 7 months and is finally asleep bedside me!

ShowerGel9 · 30/12/2017 22:27

I had this at your stage of pregnancy. Along with brown blood. All was fine.

Midwife explained it as "Bleeding with an unknown cause". I had it for a few days. Then it stopped for a few days then along came the brown blood.

ShowerGel9 · 30/12/2017 22:30

I remember when I had the brown blood...wiping and seeing brown blood and just thinking "Oh brown blood!" Wiped and flushed and got on with my day without a second thought ShockShock

keepingbees · 30/12/2017 22:38

I had it early in my third pregnancy. My doctor wouldn't send me for a scan as he said light bleeding is considered normal in pregnancy, EPU wouldn't scan me without a referral. They said as long as the bleeding was light with no pain then not to worry. Baby was fine x

alltalknobaby · 30/12/2017 22:39

I had a big gush of blood at 10 weeks and then spotted pink and red for 5 weeks, with cramping too. I lived on eggshells for those 5 weeks. No reason was ever found and DD is now 11 months and an enormous healthy baby. Use positive chants to drown out the negative worries - Baby will be fine. Baby will be fine. Baby will be fine. Best of luck!

Kintan · 30/12/2017 22:47

I had this at 9 weeks and around 16 weeks, but all was well. It's hard not to worry - I hope you are able to get a good night's sleep.

SimultaneousEquation · 30/12/2017 22:50

I had this in my second pregnancy. He’ll be starting secondary school in September. Smile

Hope all is well - I know how horrible it is at the time.

Farmerswife36 · 30/12/2017 22:52

I had deep red , Now have healthy boy

MillieMoodle · 30/12/2017 22:53

I had this in my first pregnancy around the 6 week mark - pink when I wiped then later turning to dark red/brown. It went on for 3-4 days but everything was fine. He's nearly 7 now!

I hope it settles down and you can get in for a checkup/scan soon. In the meantime try not to worry and rest if you can. Easier said than done, I know.

KimchiLaLa · 30/12/2017 22:59

I had this at ten weeks. DD is with me right now ;)

Firstchild7 · 30/12/2017 23:28

What I got told by doc when I bleed was as long as less than period and no blood clots bigger than 50p it's ok I would still take the appointment on Wed tho always best to get checked

LuckyTwiglet · 30/12/2017 23:30

I had quite a bit of spotting at various stages and the baby was fine!

TeaAndToast85 · 30/12/2017 23:35

I had exactly the same thing at exactly the same point in my pregnancy (I'm 23 weeks now). I panicked, called 111 and a 2am appt was made for me at the local out of hours clinic. All they did there was ask me about the bleeding and test my urine. 2 days later I went to the early pregnancy unit and everything was absolutely fine. Sending you a big hug, I know how you feel Thanks
