Btw, you mentioned that it happened after a bowel movement - this can sometimes cause bleeding that is nothing to worry about. Straining etc.

Seahawk80 · 30/12/2017 23:47

I had this from 5-10 weeks. At one point I was sure it was the start of a miscarriage as it got much worse but I could always wipe it away and didn't need a pad. DS is now 6 months old and feeding as I write this. Good luck - so far it sounds positive ! x

I feel so much better reading about all of your experiences. I'm not as worried anymore. Nothing I can do in any case!

I'm having "spotting" now and it's defo more red than pink discharge. I'm hoping this will mean it'll be brown tomorrow and then all over. DH keeps saying it's such a tiny bit of blood. He is helping actually.

I don't know what they'll do at the epu on wed. I hope it stops by then.

I can’t remember having it but I was in fertility forums and lots and lots of girls had it. At one stage I worried that I hadn’t it was so common.
Hope all goes well for you

Firstchild7 · 31/12/2017 11:20

When I had my appointment when I bleed he just talk to me poked my belly abit and listen for blood going threw the placenta but by that he knew she was ok

Nikki2ol6 · 31/12/2017 11:51

Hello Iv had this a lot of times. I’m 11 weeks now but my first time was 4 weeks and Iv had it about 8 times since, Iv had 4 scans and all show no explanation at all and my baby is doing well

peachesarenom · 31/12/2017 17:14

I was really excited when it stopped during the day yesterday but it has come to fresh red blood now and defo a flow. DH phoned loads of a&e depts who all said we have no midwife so ? I don't know what that means. Anyway, we're off to the hospital I'm booked in with, hopefully they will be helpful. Fingers crossed. Hubby is being very calm. I'm bad, I'm a bit shouty with him. I didn't cry till I called my mum. She was the one who said stop calling people and just go.

Fingers crossed op

I had a heavy red bleed at 16 weeks with my now 8 year old

Firstchild7 · 31/12/2017 19:04

Let us know how u get on

peachesarenom · 31/12/2017 19:37

They tested my urinr then sent me home. Negative for infection. They said come back when/if you soak through a pad within an hour. They were very 'efficient'.

OP posts:
Firstchild7 · 31/12/2017 19:53

That's not very helpful doesn't give u answers either way

peachesarenom · 31/12/2017 19:59

I know. They said the quickest scan they can organise would be the week after next. So I should just wait for epu appt on Wed! I've come home to my mummy now. Feel safer here. Too scared to go to the loo.

I’m currently 16 weeks pregnant and have had bleeds on and off since 6 weeks. The hospital sent you home because there’s nothing they can do for you there tonight, they won’t have the facilities available to scan you and check that the baby is ok, so unless you’re in agony or gushing the very best thing for you is to be at home.

I know that’s suboptimal, but the truth is that they can’t do anything to help even if you are miscarrying aside from provide pain relief.

Even when I had a huge gush at 12 weeks, was blue-lighted to A&E for losing consciousness and was filling pads I still had to wait for EGU to open before I could be scanned.

What would be awesome would be an out of hours EGU at all hospitals, run by midwives - but the NHS just don’t have the funds to provide services like that.

peachesarenom · 31/12/2017 20:22

Thanks lookingforthecorkscrew My rational self knows you're totally right. But my inner self wants an out of hours midwife and a scan.

Oh and I'm really glad you're ok. Your 12 week experience sounds super scary.

choccybiscuit · 31/12/2017 20:25

I had pink when I wiped from 9-14 weeks of my pregnancy. At 10 weeks i had a red bleed and thought it was all over but baby was absolutley fine!

lookingforthecorkscrew · 31/12/2017 20:25

I’m still bleeding here at 16 weeks, but baby keeps bouncing around in scans - waving at me!

YouCantArgueWithStupid · 31/12/2017 20:26

I flooded my jeans when about 10
Weeks pregnant. Bled for a few hours. No pains. That was Friday night and I couldn't be scanned by the EPU until Monday morning. All was fine! DD 2.5 is now next to me on the sofa eating chocolate buttons!

peachesarenom · 31/12/2017 20:27

I've prolly taken the wrong step getting my DH to text his mate who is a labour surgeon and who has many midwife friends to see what she says!!!

I'm not gushing. I am passing stringy looking clots though which is a bit scary. I think someone said that when they were bleeding it was small bits of the placenta or something. I hope that is what is happening to me, anything as long as it's not all over. But you know if it can happen to Beyonce it can happen to anyone.

Is there anywhere you could pay for a quick private scan once they open after the bank holiday? That's what I had to do when my doctor wouldn't refer me for one. Was only about £50 for an early scan.

peachesarenom · 31/12/2017 21:23

keepingbees if it is bad news at a private scan will they help me or will I have to wait for epu anyway?

YouCantArgueWithStupid · 31/12/2017 21:27

Also I bled every month until I was 7 months like I said below. Full on fresh red blood but no pain.
